1833 Kitchen & Bar at the Aurora Inn
The Aurora Inn is warm and welcoming with exquisite décor. From intimate anniversary dinners to parties for up to 25 guests, we are prepared to make yours an event to remember. Whatever the occasion, it will be remembered for fine cuisine, warm service, and beautiful surroundings.
Lovely ambiance and great service. Would highly recommend.
Great view, food and service!
Elegant and refined. I think this is my one an only review on social media; it's that good. I had a deliciously well balanced Bloody Marie to start followed by the crab cake Benedict. It looked interesting on the menu and showed up with bells on. The egg couldn't have been cooked more perfectly. I pared it with an FLX Reisling... delicious combination. The crowd is decidedly upscale with good self-presentation. Outdoor dining is new to many establishments; these folks have mastered it.
We ate both brunch and dinner outside at 1833 on our anniversary while staying at the Aurora Inn. The setting can’t be beat, with beautiful views of Cayuga Lake and a lovely breeze. The service was great- attentive without being overbearing. Cocktails were excellent, as was the apple galette we had for dessert. The rest of our meal - an arugula salad, salmon appetizer, pork chops and trumpet mushroom entree - were solid but not memorable, but I would still go back for the overall experience.
We loved the view, will certainly go back. We had lunch at the patio
Food was outstanding. We dined outside with beautiful views of the lake. Dinner was unhurried but service was very attentive. Highly recommend!
The scallops were delicious. Service was perfect and the lake view was astonishing. Wonderful place to go for a special occasion.
We enjoyed 3 breakfasts & 1 dinner at the restaurant. The accommodations for covid were handled extremely well and we felt very comfortable inside and outside. The quality of the food & service was consistently good and a far better value compared to other hotel dining options. don't hesitate to make the Inn a dining stop during your stay.
A great compliment to the beautiful Inns of Aurora. Friendly staff, great food, great experience. Will be returning!
Excellent food, service and safety in the current pandemic setting! Although it was a bit chilly to eat fully outside, the windows and doors to the patio were full open and there was plenty of excellent airflow to the inside. I think a reservation is a must, but well worth the planning.
the deck seating was spectacular & very romantic. It was cooler than normal but the sun was still shining & the heaters were just right. We felt like we knew no one & totally enjoyed our dinner. Chris our server was very friendly & knowledgeable. The only negative was they brought our gluten free bread for only one person & the center was still frozen. Minor compared to the old aspects.
We had a delightful brunch sitting outdoors. The food was fabulous and so was the service. We started out with mimosas & bloody mary's and then ordered the crab cakes benedict, the lobster roll, and the Burrata & Heirloom tomato salad, with a side of the parmesan and truffle salt fries. Everything was delicious! We would certainly dine here more often if we could reserve an outdoor table when making the reservation, as under the current circumstances, it's a long drive to gamble whether an outdoor table will be available when we arrive.
Lovely setting, but the bees forced us inside. Great food and service on a lovely fall day.
I had the Garden Skillet, which was very good and different.
Majestic sunset view of the lake, coupled with exquisite cuisine and excellent service! Definitely added a fantastic ambiance to a special evening.
Service was terrific. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. We sat on the patio and the ambience was lovely. The food was delicious and the wine list was excellent. I have recommended the restaurant to others and look forward to returning next time we are in the area.
Perfect place for celebrating our 59th wedding anniversary...and Kati C. was wonderful!
We had dinner outside and had a lovely view of the lake. We had seafood chowder, which was so good, Scallops with corn risotto, delicious, and the lollipop pork chop, also delicious. Just as we finished our dinner, we took on a beautiful sunset over the lake. This was truly a memorable experience.
Great ambiance and beautiful view. The service was good and people were very nice.
A nice escape from today’s realities. Lovely facility. Beautiful views . Caring services
Always a great experience
Awesome old-school setting for a nice meal. Beautiful views of the lake. Upscale but not pretentious.
Attentive and friendly staff. Good social distancing and mask protocols. Food was excellent.
Was there for an anniversary and received complimentary glasses of champagne.
Efficient but not rushed.
Excellent experience on a lakefront.
Wonderful place for brunch! The lake views and tasteful decor create an outstanding ambiance, combined with the varied menu options, first-class service and delicious food makes for a very memorable meal!
Fantastic food! Excellent Customer Service! Beautiful Atmopshere!
We really enjoyed the food, service and outside dining. We took our wine to the lake and finished it there.
We concluded a fantastic anniversary trip by dining at 1833 and it was a wonderful way to end the vacation. Grace was a fantastic guide not only through a wonderful number of items on the menu but also the abundant wine offerings in the region. We cannot wait to return!
Love the Aurora Inn and the idea of the 1833 Kitchen and Bar. We've eaten there several times now and it seems to consistently fall just short. Our waiter was EXCELLENT as was the ambiance, the social distance and covid precautions.
The food however was simply just okay. We ordered soup and made sure to ask for it extra hot (temperature) and our waiter reassured us that it will ABSOLUTELY be hot!
When it came it was barely warm. Sent back and when returned it was still not much better. The waiter and hostess were excellent and apologetic. In fact so much so that they ultimately removed it from our bill without us even asking. Absolutely the RIGHT thing to do and the courteous thing to do.
The burrata salad was less than and my scallops which I have had there a few times were in a mush of a risotto that had a strange flavor.
Since it was COVID no breakfasts were being served weekdays. The options were also less than unappealing and honestly surprising for a luxury venue. A fruit salad the size of a coleslaw that typically comes with a burger was $3. The melon was borderline, the quiche not warm and the presentation just surprising for the Inns of Aurora.
We will be back because we love Aurora and hope that 1833 will be up on their game.
Food, service, sunset, and ambiance were fantastic!
Service, food, view - all perfect!
We enjoyed Sunday brunch.
Great place. Food was really good. Service was excellent. The venue and views were outstanding. Good menu. Only issue was an abundance of yellow jackets. Otherwise, excellent choice.
Delicious, high quality food, good portion size, wonderful staff, beautiful establishment and nice grounds! Will return ASAP!
From the moment we w entered the service was first class — inviting — and very knowledgeable about the food and wine.
Unfortunately that’s where the 5 stars ended for me.
The appetizers were so so ... the scallops were salty with a side of orzo .... the desserts were good. Homemade ice creams are delicious.
The food and atmosphere are just wonderful!
We loved eating out on the beautifull deck.
You go there for the location and view of the lake, and whoever runs the kitchen seems to know that. Very friendly staff and good service, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Expect bland dishes, small portions, and ingredients that came from the frozen food section. Also, the beer menu is exactly three beers long.
It was our first time at 1833. The restaurant is as charming as the Inn with wonderful ambience overlooking the lake. Dinner was excellent as was the service. We enjoyed the scallops over risotto and the pasta bolognese. Surely a must when you are in Aurora.
We have never had a bad meal. Took friends there this weekend and they loved it. It is a beautiful setting and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They are very accommodating and are doing a great job during this Covid time.
Fabulous food and service! We go there several times a year and we are never disappointed.
I went for a brunch with three of my friends to relive our Aurora days. The staff at the restaurant were all very accommodating and friendly. We ate outside, and the view was beautiful. The tables were spaced apart appropriately. I ordered the burrata salad and the crab cakes benedict and they were perfect. I would love to be able to return some day. Highly recommend!
