One Eleven Spring Street - The Hotel Windsor
Breakfast is an a la carte menu featuring favourites from Melbourne's thriving cafe scene, made with quality, locally-sourced ingredients. The menu ranges from light pastries to healthy options and hot breakfast dishes.
The Windsor breakfast - with freshly squeezed orange juice, a pastry, hot breakfast and Niccolo coffee or specialty tea - is a signature.
Afternoon Tea is an institution, served since our establishment in 1883. Blending tradition and modernity, the seasonally-changing menu comes on three-tiered silver stands with French Sparkling Wine, specialty tea or coffee. Expect ribbon sandwiches, savoury canapes, scones with housemade jam and double cream, and a trio of chic patisserie by our French Head Pastry Chef.
A dessert buffet with chocolate fountain is served on public holidays and weekends.
Afternoon tea at the Windsor Hotel feels very much like a traditional cultural experience. My wife who is from Japan really enjoyed it very much.
We attended One Eleven Spring Street for high tea to celebrate a special birthday. The wait staff, food and drink was nothing short of spectacular. We were made to feel special from the moment we stepped in the door, a lovely experience! Thank Hotel Windsor.
High Tea at the Windsor is part of the cultural scene of Melbourne. Something all tourists should experience.
Wonderful friendly attentive staff and some fun banter made all our group , (children , parents and grandparents ) feel very welcome
Perfect for a special occasion when u want to feel spoilt!
Thank you for a wonderful afternoon .
The High Tea at the Windsor is an institution in Melbourne. The venue is a beautiful old 19th century hotel with a matching dining room. The service formal but very friendly. The food is a of great quality and well prepared. There are some initial savoury items including scones and sandwiches plus a buffet of a large variety of sweet items. I personally don't like sweet food all that much, but I still found plenty to to eat and enjoyed everything.
We had a lovely afternoon, the staff were all friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.
I would highly recommend The Windsor for afternoon tea.
It was a lovely afternoon. The high tea was well presented with the dessert bar a great option to eat as much or little as you pleased. The service was excellent without being intrusive. Overall a great afternoon.
A little over priced at close to $100 per head, While food was very good, not that good
Fabulous High Tea with a group of girlfriends. Wonderful service, amazing experience, and the most beautiful and decadent dessert buffet!
Afternoon Tea at The Windsor is a must, at least once in your lifetime. The staff are very professional and friendly. You feel 'special' and the food is amazing. They do gluten free Afternoon Tea as well, which is really nice. The dessert buffet on a weekend is a fantastic addition to the Afternoon Tea. It was my birthday the day before, which is why I was there. Just before we left, a waiter bought out a plate with a cake, candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate on it. It was a lovely.
A M A Z I N G! Love the food, ambience, decor. The perfect way to treat yourself. Have been before and will continue to return.
Overall, I was not impressed and regretted selecting this venue for celebration. I would have thought the standards would have been much higher. I won't be back
Worst scones EVER!! and not great sandwiches- Definitely not the HIGH TEA I would expect form the Windsor - so many other gorgeous places in Melbourne
I visited the Windsor for High Tea. It was the most wonderful experience, especially because of the staff. The Maitre'd - Ken - was so gracious and welcoming and made us feel very special. He was helpful and friendly - nothing was any trouble.
This outing was a treat for my hubby’s 70th ( he doesn’t look 70 lol)! From go to woe it was fantastic.. we both loved everything, food, service and the fantastic venue.
Very pleasant experience
Staff professional and friendly
Food high quality
Welcomed upon arrival and quickly shown to our table. Greeted with glass of French champagne and after a time to relax served with the scrumptious and varied afternoon tea finished off with scones and cream.
A feeling if a decadent experience to celebrate a birthday and would happily recommend the experience for any occasion,
The checking in too a long time and we were not seated until 2:30 pm when it was a 2 - 4 pm booking. The waitress did not come to take our coffee and tea requirements for 15 minutes after we were seated, even though she said she would be back soon. The food was lovely though and the drinks were also lovely. It was my 60th birthday and I really enjoyed going to the Windsor and so did my guests. Thankyou.
My mum and I went for tea in the afternoon. However, the tea was too hot too pour, it was burning our hands!
They made me a special plate to be aware of my allergies to dairy. However, we both felt quite sick mid way through the meal and had to leave. We are not sure if it is something we ate, but we were sick for quite some time after (~4 hours).
There is no option for take away. Because we were not feeling well, we asked to take it. They made my mom sign a legal document! A bit outrageous!
A truly wonderful experience. We took a group of 16 year old girls for our daughter's 16th birthday. They all loved the experience.
We had a great experience at the Windsor for High Tea. It was our Mums 70th and she had always wanted to do it. We all really enjoyed it - service was fantastic !!
The service was fantastic and I especially commend the waiter we had who took such good care of us (and even brought us out two mini birthday treats!) Thank you for making our day such a memorable one.
Thank you very much for making my mother’s birthday a special occasion.
Staffs are extremely warm and professional.
The manager was fantastic , all staff friendly and attentive , the food and champagne was great also
A wonderful celebration with my cousin for her birthday. Amazing food, fantastic service and wonderful ambience. A great experience
I arrived with an interstate friend and made a last-minute booking for my vegan nephew. This all absolutely fine with the staff. We began with a glass of sparkling wine, after being introduced to the waiter. My nephew received his own cake stand with vegetable sandwiches he said were very tasty. I enjoyed my own sandwiches and cakes, followed by scones. The ambiance was very pleasant. I ended with a huge pot of tea with lemon and we took some photos of ourselves as a souvenir of the visit.
Wonderful place, great staff and sourroundings
We attended the Windsor for my Aunts 84th birthday. She had always wanted to visit and I surprised her. The food was wonderful, the service impeccable, and she is still talking about it to anyone who will listen...and a few who don't lol. She was served a birthday treat with a candle and feels the whole day and experience was special. Thank you Windsor Hotel and staff.
Nothing special to write home about.
The breakfast pastry was annoying - tasted like it was just bought from Coles supermarket and dished out.
"Music ?" could have been turned off completely - too intrusive.
Credit card charge ? I bought a mid-size vehicle recently and paid it all off my credit card. The dealership was quite happy to accept this kind of settlement.
In days of electronic transfer it is not justified.
Debit my account and credit your account - simple!
Memorable Experience at a beautiful iconic building. High Tea at the Windsor is a real delight.
Staff very helpful, food delicious, three different dietary requirements catered for without s problem.
Would definitely recommend when in Melbourne.
From the surroundings, atmosphere, decor, service, bubbly and food all made afternoon tea at The Windsor an enjoyable experience and a great venue for a special occasion.
Lovely afternoon tea - took a while to actually get the afternoon tea on our table but once it finally arrived it was very lovely
Sweets were nice, the savory options were nothing special. The small pies lacked filling.
Staff were slow, unattentive and rude at the end they rushed us out the door before getting an opportunity to try the dessert buffet. They failed to mention the 2 hour seating conditions nor did they flag that we had limited time to visit the Buffet. Wrote to the hotel to provide this feedback and received a very disappointing response.
Very friendly and professional staff.
Would love to go for brekkie again. Beautiful historic restaurant.
This was my first high tea and I was disappointing. When the stand was brought out I was shocked at how bland and sad it looked and what you actually got. The dessert buffet was the only thing that saved the experience for me, but did not like the fact you had to go and serve yourself. No one came and got our tea order, we waited 40 minutes before we ended up going to find someone to order this. The teapot handle was so hot I actually burnt the palm of my hand.
I came with my mum and sister for mother’s day high tea and unfortunately it was overall a poor experience.
The food was not at a great quality nor was the service from the younger waiters/waitresses.
For the amount per head on the day was definitely not well worth it.
We went there to celebrate our anniversary and everything was perfect. The staffs were very attractive and the food was excellent. The whole thing was excellent and we are looking forward to go back there again in the near future.
Excellent service, very friendly hosts,
Beautiful venue, professional service, amazing food. Took my mum there for early mothers day afternoon tea, she loved it. Sandwiches were delicious. Dessert buffet has lots of varieties and then looked beautiful, taste amazing. We will definitely go back again.
