One Eleven Spring Street - The Hotel Windsor
Breakfast is an a la carte menu featuring favourites from Melbourne's thriving cafe scene, made with quality, locally-sourced ingredients. The menu ranges from light pastries to healthy options and hot breakfast dishes.
The Windsor breakfast - with freshly squeezed orange juice, a pastry, hot breakfast and Niccolo coffee or specialty tea - is a signature.
Afternoon Tea is an institution, served since our establishment in 1883. Blending tradition and modernity, the seasonally-changing menu comes on three-tiered silver stands with French Sparkling Wine, specialty tea or coffee. Expect ribbon sandwiches, savoury canapes, scones with housemade jam and double cream, and a trio of chic patisserie by our French Head Pastry Chef.
A dessert buffet with chocolate fountain is served on public holidays and weekends.
Perfect high tea. Exceptional service and exquisite atmosphere. Can't wait to do it again.
Great afternoon tea
Catered really well for Gluten free needs
Would recommend this to anyone looking for a great afternoon tea in a lovely great service
Perfect day to celebrate the wife’s birthday an added surprise was a little slice of cake with a candle and happy birthday written in chocolate on the plate and a quick rendition of happy birthday by the One Eleven Spring Street team.
Finished off a great experience
Had a wonderful afternoon tea, service was excellent and the food extremely tasty. Would certainly recommend the Hotel Windsor and am looking forward to a further visit.
Service and food was highly inconsistent. Male waiters were very professional; female was abrupt. No champagne refills although other tables receiving theirs. A delay in ordering our tea/coffee and food tray. All wait staff very attentive to clearing things though.
Food wise, all the savouries doughy/dry. Sandwiches very good. Refill of the dessert bar was delayed resulting in missing out some dishes.
Not a polished, seamless, happy experience at the price.
Everything was wonderful. The noise level rose at times, as ladies greeting each other and enjoying the experience was evident, which adds to the ambience.
The only negative, which is happening all too often sadly, was the young lady at the table beside us who constantly had her phone in her hand and seemed more interested in that than the experience, her poor date looked dejected. Perhaps it could be requested that phones are turned to silent and used in limited amounts or am I just an old fashioned old lady?
I’ll definitely be back but won’t make the mistake of eating breakfast in the morning
We had a really lovely experience at the Windsor and the staff made a delicious High Tea all the sweeter through their excellent and good-natured service. Thank you.
Excellent experience staff efficient but not obtrusive range of cake on weekend afternoon tea excellent. Too much choice.
There is only one place to have High Tea in Melbourne and that is the Hotel Windsor. Not only is the food wonderfully tasty and beautifully presented, but the old world atmosphere also compliments perfectly the ritual of high tea. The proficient staff matched the food and ambiance to a 'tea'
So friendly and impeccable service. Food delicious for or High Tea.
I took my daughter and her 2 partners to Afternoon Tea for a birthday treat.
1, being from the US had little idea of what to expect and researched Etiquette and Afternoon Tea!
We all had a delightful time. The staff were very nice and attentive even though quite busy, and we felt valued and when I told them why we were there they took time to comment.
It is quite pricey of course, but the experience is the thing....
A set menu, then a wonderful range of serve-yourself desserts.
We had such a great time at Hotel Windsor for Afternoon Tea
Every time we come to Melbourne high tea at the Hotel Windsor is a must, and it never disappoints. Love it and will go again ❤️
Enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and service
My friend and I had a lovely high tea experience at the Windsor. Great atmosphere and attentive staff.
Awesome old school high tea experience with fantastic service
A beautiful way to spend a couple of hours in Melbourne. We were in Melbourne for a “girls’ weekend” and our High Tea was certainly a highlight. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the ambience fabulous and the food delicious. Will certainly be recommending the experience to others.
We loved the high tea which was ideal for a special occasion. The food was imaginative and tasty and its presentation was perfect and the staff were professional and friendly.
Lovely afternoon tea and great diabetic food provided for one of our party.
High tea is a must, everything was delicious and it is a delightful place to dine.
Great service - definitely made us feel special. This was a pre-birthday celebration for my mum's 60th birthday.
I celebrated my 60th birthday with my friends and I was a little disappointed with high tea.Savoury and dessert items were quite unbalanced. Many lovely desserts but savouries were a little lacking. Traditional ribbon sandwiches but salmon slider seemed strange to me.Cold avocado soup and micro parmesan crisp completed the savoury items.Maybe more savoury could be included.Staff were very polite and professional.
We had a group of 8 for high tea, 3 with dietary requirements. We could not have been better looked after by everyone who came to our table and the food was delicious!
We have had High Tea here more than 10 times and have always enjoyed it, but this time we found the choices were changed, they had a cold soup instead of savoury tarts, the soup was disgusting, the buffet is usually stocked with such amazing cakes etc but the choices were cut by at least a half.
We made a decision that we would not be going back again. Very unhappy.
Wonderful high tea, beautiful surroundings and lovely staff.
The traditional English Afternoon Tea menu included a delectable range of interesting little savoury and sweet delights, tasty ribbon sandwiches and the best still-warm just-cooked scones that I've ever eaten.
Amazing! I have a nut allergy and they brought me out the tiered plates with my own nut free food on it! That’s amazing I’ve never been treated with that much respect and cautiousness and I’m so happy to have come here!
Food was lovely. Service during high tea was generally good and attentive. We felt rushed and pushed out at the end. We were told just before 4.30 it would close at 5 - no problem. Once our plates were cleared the supervisor came to table with card machine for payment. We paid cash. Overall, I felt the really nice experience went downhill a bit at the end when we were processed-out.
The experience was good, the service was fantastic, but overpriced for what you get.
Fabulous service - the staff were amazing, catering for our tables dietary requirements as well as providing a little extra for our birthday ladies.
One issue with the venue however, the glass roof is dirty and has a lot of bird poo on it. Definitely needs to be cleaned more often.
A lovely high tea experience
Good but service definitely could have been improved. Not really any individual attention
This was on my bucket list of things to do with some special friends & family and it lived up to my expectation. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional. They were able to cater for a guest who was Gluten and Dairy Free (advised at booking). Food was excellent and atmosphere was beautiful. Highly recommend.
The waiter noted we were celebrating my birthday and when we had finished the high tea food he brought out a piece of cake with a candle on it and a happy birthday message in chocolate on the plate! Lovely food, small bone in the smoked salmon but didn’t want to make a fuss because everything was delicious. Liked the attention to detail and the “fancyness” of the room - expected from what I’d heard of the venue, but appreciated all the same.
The serving staff were efficient and polite;the food was high quality and the teas were excellent.
We were celebrating my sister-in-law's 70th birthday and it was a surprise when the small birthday cake was presented to my sister-in-law on a plate with "Happy 70th birthday" inscribed in chocolate.
The whole experience was first rate and I know that the birthday girl was very favourably impressed by the professional staff both inside the restaurant and in The Windsor Hotel.
I went there for high tea on 1st of January, which was my birthday. Everything is good, and they prepared a special birthday cake for me. The attendant was very kind. We enjoyed the high tea there.
The trip into a classic Victorian hotel that has kept its original feel and high class ambience was fantastic.
High Tea at The Windsor Hotel is a long-standing Melbourne tradition. Everyone should experience the occasion at least once in their lifetime. Service personnel are non-intrusive and efficient and the selection of afternoon tea delicacies certainly gets the taste buds working. Highly recommend this Melbourne icon.
Great high tea with delectable food and cakes nad some nice sparkling wine.
