We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation, and were told our only option for a table was the one that was right next to the curtains in front of the entrance. Or, we could wait 20 to 30 minutes for a better table. So, we waited at the bar instead of being exposed to the cold outside air each time someone opened the door, and having people wait for their table right on top of us.
In the thirty minutes we were at the bar, we witnessed at least three other parties get told the same thing: “Sorry, you have a reservation, but we only have this one table by the door”. Clearly, no one wanted that table as they all chose to wait by the bar too.
I don’t blame the hostess for that. I am not sure who is in charge of booking reservations, but you either need to a) honor your reservations and not let people take those tables, or b) accept less reservations from OpenTable.
The food was good. We shared the Caesar salad, I had veal and my girlfriend had the four cheese tortellini. Not amazing, but not bad. The cannolis were very good though.
Service-wise, the hostess was apologetic for making us wait. That was not her fault, so no big deal. But our interactions with our waitress were limited and brief. We were having a good conversation, so not the end of the world. But don’t expect high-touch service.
Ambiance was nice. The interior was a nice change from what you’d expect in Stamford, and the noise level was manageable.
In terms of the bar, the cocktails are nothing to write home about. A Moscow Mule was just ginger ale from the fountain, bottled lime juice, and our vodka of choice in a copper mug. Judging by the other drinks that were prepared in front of us, most of the cocktails seemed to be the bare minimum version of each drink.
All in all, I think they needed a few more people working, and to do a better job at managing reservations. That would definitely improve the experience. Worth a try though if you want something different in Stamford.
Great food! Great service. Great for a date night downtown.
Other than leaving my hand knitted scarf, or losing it between the restaurant and the car, everything was wonderful. Thanks for another marvelous meal.
This was a nice NYC type restaurant. The vibe and clientele were urban. Nice food and drink selections. We had a pasta/fish dish, 2 fish filet dishes, and a veal dish. None of these, or any of the entrees, come with anything. All is ala carte. At this price point, $25-$30 for an entree, you should get a salad or side. Portions were average. Food was very good, but not amazing. Drinks were also very good, but just as pricey. No one seemed to complain though - this seems to be the norm for Stamford now. As the restaurant filled up, the service and attentiveness slowed. It was still good though, just not as responsive as when we first arrived.
Had a great meal. Sophia our server, was terrific and made a GREAT espresso martini. Chicken Scarp on bone was very good. Mussels excellent. My wife loved her spaghetti with pecorino and park. The buffalo cauliflower was delicious. Sat upstairs where the chatter level was high.
Stopped in for dinner after a movie at the Avon Theatre.
Very enjoyable. Great food and service.
Made my daughter’s favorite salad even though it was no longer on menu. Consistently good food. Attentive service. One of our go to’s in Stamford.
Great food and wonderful ambience
The food and the service are always superior!!
Very good neighborhood Italian restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere.
This is truly a neighborhood gem. No frills but the menu is diverse and the food and service are great. The place is not that big so reservations are recommended. I look forward to going back.
Best pasta in town, and if pizza was available!! Home run
Excellent food, ambience and service, this restaurant never disappoints!
We were skeptical the minute the stale bread was served. If your bread is old please do not try to cover up by toasting it just throw away! The “tower” of eggplant was a mere 3 layers of average eggplant parm. What a disappointment! Next course, undercooked ravioli were tasteless and watery sauce did not help. Dessert? No thank you, enough supermarket quality for one night. The location is great which is the only reason this restaurant is still open.
Delish. Great food. Was great to have dietary options for the group. Also - they were accommodating for little ones ie kids. Probably planning to go back this week.
Really attentive service, great food, feels nice without being too fancy - dine upstairs if you can
always a good reliable meal here. Can count on it when going to avon theater. food is great.
As usual, a great meal. This has become on of my go-to restaurants.
We have eaten at Quattro Pazzi for a few years and the food has always been good - this time the bread was stale, we had to reluctantly send the wine back it tasted stale, and the salmon and my dinner chicken was not very good - we were so disappointed. We mentioned something to the server and she said it was sold and there are new owners. We doubt we will go back I have to the service staff was excellent very accommodating and patient.
QP is our favorite restaurant in Stamford. Food and service always good. Perfect go to after a movie at The Avon.
Thank you for the incredible meal and hospitality!
I met up with a girl friend of mine to catch up for dinner and it was wonderful. The food, the service, the upstairs dining room - everything. Highly recommend!
The dining space on the first floor felt sparce and incomplete. Food is amazing.
Food is always consistent. Portions are generous. Our favorite placce to bring friends, family or just a casual dinner for two.
Our waitress came to the table and served drinks but before she was able to give us any of our drinks somehow the tray of drinks (6) spilled all over the tray and all down the arm of my son's girlfriend. Her brand new sweater was soaked - we told the waitress this and all we were offered was a towel. I watched her tell the manager (I assume) what happened when she went back to the bar to make more drinks. My son's girlfriend was never comped anything or any apologies offered. Extremely disappointing and not professional. Then we she came back to serve us new drinks 2 more drinks spilled again. Clearly, a very off night. Food was good, but really have no desire to go back. While we were eating our dinner, someone on the wait staff either dropped a tray of dishes/glasses and proceeded to break whatever was on the tray. Not worth our drive from Trumbull to Stamford to celebrate my son's birthday.
Our Saturday night experience at Quattro Pazzi was wonderful. We’ve been here numerous times and will plan on returning. The food is wonderfully fresh and tasty, their prices are very reasonable and the service is always top notch.
Great service, excellent food, I have celiacs and they were very accommodating.
Excellent! Always excellent!
The food and service is consistently great.
Consistently good local Italian restaurant. Never disappoints.
Outstanding as always!
The service was horrible. The wait staff kept passing by me and hitting my bag and me. They should have offered a chair to put the bag on or just moved the table a bit to leave room to pass. We asked for at least three times before we received it. When leaving, the wait staff almost knocked me down trying to clear the table. There was no one waiting to be seated.
Not what it once was.... Still a go-to place for Italian food in Stamford, but ambiance is lacking. Cafe tables without tablecloths outside certainly don't elevate the dining experience. Lucky's 50's diner and Capriccio down the street have better much nicer outdoor seating with less expensive food.
Always friendly staff and great food. Can sit outside or in, lots of seating choices.
Outstanding as usual.
Wonderful restaurant with great service! Came in for Restaurant Week - highly recommend them arancini. Will be back again!!
The upstairs dining room has become tired and needs to be refreshed. The food was very good and well presented although the service was a bit spotty.
Nice place with excellent food. Service rating on lower aide not because it was bad, rather seemed either inexperienced or not properly trained. To staff’s credit, all were very nice and earnest in desire to serve. Pleasantly surprised and would likely go again, though I thought prices were a bit on the high side.
Food was excellent, staff was friendly and attentive.
food is always delicious- great place for dinner
service is good
drinks are great
