Restaurant was empty on a Friday evening in downtown SoNo and food was nothing special. I felt like I could have just made the food myself. Staff was hospitable but did not speak English or know the Italian names of the items on menu.

As we were going to be in S-Norwalk/SONO, I decided to book a table at Quartina. We were there relatively early, at 6:30p, and not many tables were occupied. Unfortunately I must say that we were really disappointed with the service. Either the three people serving were all brand-new, or just had no clue about service. It is not that they were not nice or did not try, but... We saw water being poured into the wine glasses (and yes, the water glass looked like a wine glass as well); water was spilled onto our table and onto my daughter's cell-phone; we received two new and one old menu and when I asked which was the correct menu, I was initially told they were all the same; they forgot to give us the menu with the specials; we were ready to order, but no one noticed for quite some time (I had to signal); we saw the chef (owner) getting impatient and heard him raise his voice (open kitchen) to his staff and when I asked for the check, I got my card and the receipt to sign, yet I did not get a pen. I am pretty easy going, so we took it all in stride. RE the food, our appetizers were presented very nicely and we really liked them (Burrata). Our main courses (Gnocchi alla "Sorrentina", Chicken Parmigiana & Spaghetti "Alla Cinque") were good, but I have had better. I feel I should give them a second chance, but then again...

Great dinner on a Sunday night with my wife. The food was delicious authentic Italian food with fresh, quality ingredients. The owner was very gracious and made us feel at home. Coffee and a terrific ricotta cheesecake was the perfect ending to a two and a half hour feast!

We had a wonderful lunch at Quartina Trattoria, to celebrate my birthday. The chef and owner was so welcoming and warm, and the food was delicious and served in a very special way. The fish was served on a beautiful large decorative plate, and one of the pastas was mixed in front of us, in a large cylinder of cheese. It was very unique and special. We can't wait to return for another meal soon!

Disappointed with the linguine with clam sauce. The sauce was flavorful but the large sized clams were very tough. One waiter seemed to be servicing the whole restaurant.

Quartina has been a favorite since it opened, but the variability in crowds, weather, and staffing has occasionally been a bit of a letdown. However, Quartina appears to be hitting on all cylinders lately. The dinner was excellent - appetizers of beet salad and prosciutto & melone were super fresh and artistically presented. Main courses of past and sweet sausage, and a mushroom pasta arabiatta dish were wonderful and properly sized. Dessert of gelatos was perfect. Wine selection, left to the owner, was tops (a Tenuta Pinot Grigio). Find your way there, especially when Quartina has live entertainment (usually a trio singing/playing songs from the home country).

Wonderful dinner every time we have visited. Food is delicious and service is very attentive. They go out of their way to make sure that you enjoy your meal and that everything is exactly what you expect. The wine selections are perfect and Giuseppe will definitely take care of you!!

My husband and I are frequent visitors of Quartina. The food is always top notch and the service is always wonderful. The owner always stops over and says hello to his guests and makes sure everyone feels welcome.

We had a lovely meal last night at Quartina. The pastas are homemade and fabulous. The service was friendly and attentive and the owner personally interacts with guests to check if the food is to your liking. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Italian meal or even just a glass of wine in a modern and inviting trattoria. We look forward to our next visit!

Crab cakes were unremarkable
PEI mussels were tiny and calamari was very rubbery.
Artichoke, shrimp, cauliflower in pink sauce tasted very good, the only drawback was the giant penne was VERY al dente.
Wine was nice, but the wine menu was misprinted and led to confusion between what we asked for and what we received.

Going back, I don't think so!

Some of the food was wonderful, a seafood risotto for one as was the grilled calamari. Other dishes the special meatballs and the pasta cinque was way too salty. Plus at 9 pm on a thrursday they somehow were out of chocolate gelato. It was okay, had the food been all on point the gelato issue would not seem as much as a big deal. Still don't get how you can be out of a basic flavor though.

The host(owner?) does try very hard to make you happy. Maybe it was a quasi-off night

We had an excellent dinner here. A beautiful eggplant appetizer, along with dinners or homemade tortellini and pasta served from a Parmesan wheel. Wine and service were both excellent. Staff is very welcoming. This is a great place!

I enjoyed the dining experience and chatting with the General Manager . got some good ideas on Italian wines as I am not very good at that. The Salmon and Cod were very tasty.

If you are in a hurry or made timely after dinner plans, this might not be the right choice for you. The owner wears many hats (greeter, waiter, chef) so it can take a little longer to get your order. However, the food is pretty good, fresh and made to order. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth checking out!

We wanted to love this restaurant, we were greeted righted away in a friendly manner, the place gave a busy yet cozy first impression and it only took 5 minutes or so before we were seated. Unfortunately, although wait staff stopped by with water, took drink orders and then took appetizer and entree orders within a reasonable amount of time, it was at least another hour before appetizers arrived. While a waiter was tossing pasta in the cheese wheel and dividing up servings, the other meatball appetizer sat on a counter waiting to be served and was barely lukewarm. The pasta was cooked perfectly and was delicious. A salad followed and then, another half hour or so later, entrees were served. The chicken scarpariello (2 legs and a wing) entrees were swimming in a bowl of sauce and each probably had 3 potato wedges and a few peppers accompanying them. The chicken parmsesan was described as "just okay" and the scrod entree was "prepared simply, fresh and light, but lacking seasoning". The original waitress offered to refill wine glasses free of charge for the long wait, but never came back to do that. About 2 1/2 hours later, we were at the dessert stage. Coffee was fresh, strong and a good end to the meal. The ricotta cheesecake was bland with a slight hint of orange flavor. More efficient service from the kitchen would allow the restaurant to turn over a table during a busy dinner evening, provide food to hungry diners in a timely and more enjoyable manner, and still could be done without rushing diners along. We'll give it another try, we all agreed we'd still go back to try some of the many tempting pasta dishes on the menu and hope it was just an "off" night.

We LOVE QTV. We've eaten here in 3 times since Christmas Eve. Most recently this past Saturday night. Joe, the owner, is the best. Bends over backwards to please his customers. Being raised in an Italian household eating here reminds me of my days as a boy looking forward to a family-style Sunday Italian dinner with my parents, brothers, uncles, aunts and cousins. On Christmas Eve we always celebrate the Feast of the 7 fishes. And believe me QTV does it better than any joint I've ever celebrated in. Keep up the good work, great food, and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is beautiful but the experience was disappointing. Especially for a holiday. The hostess asked me twice about my reservation. I'm not sure if she knew how to look up reservation made through OpenTable. Then I waited at the bar for the table and there wasn't a bar tender. A waitress asked if I wanted a drink but then followed by saying she couldn't mix drinks. I then waited over an hour for my food after being seated. The waiter asked me twice what was my dinner order. People who sat after me got their food before me. To top it all the kitchen was open to the restaurant and the dinning room was filling with smoke every few minutes. A smell of burnt food followed me the rest of my night on my clothes. When I final got my food the waiter was apologetic saying everything is cooked fresh, But my food was cold. Then it took almost another 25 minutes just to get the check.

Valentine's day is one of the toughest days for a restaurant to shine given the amount business they all do on that day. Quartina did not disappoint even on that day. The cavatelli with meat was fantastic and my wife's dish of the fish special was equally good. Guiseppe is still at the top of his game. we will be back.

My date and I went to dinner here on Valentine's Day weekend. The food and drink were amazing and the service was attentive; however, the restaurant had temperature control issues. About 15 minutes into our dinner, approximately 80% of the diners had put on their jackets. When people complained to the restaurant management, the heat was turned on. Soon after, the restaurant filled with smoke and management had to turn off the heat and open windows, which made the restaurant cold again.

While I understand that temperature control issues were outside of management's control at the time, no one from the restaurant apologized for the issues. Although dinner was tasty, the uncomfortable cold severely detracted from our overall experience. Our meals were too expensive ($100+) to be freezing in our seats with no apologies. I would recommend the restaurant to others had management apologized or even attempted to make up for the issue with our table.

Had a terrific meal here, servers were all very attentive and helpful, mine recommended a homemade spaghetti dish that was dipped into a huge cheese wheel, which was the best pasta dish I had in a long time. Only problem was it was cold by the entrance door, and it was not a very cold night so that could be a problem, but overall it was a delightful evening with well-prepared Italian cuisine. Will definitely go back and try other dishes!
