Looked forward to Christmas dinner. Sat us in the main circulation path for all arrivals and departures to pass by our table. Asked to be moved. OK. Ordered $15 USD cocktailS--glass was sticky ICKY sticky, and floating lemon bathed my face when sipping. SideCar was dirty looking, unpleasant taste. Had to wash my hands after handling. Waited...waited...finally Lobster Bisque was served, luke warm, brownish color, foul taste. Flavor was very dirty like burned roux from an amateur's attempt at Cajun etouffee--not worthy at all. Waited...waited...waited, hoping to replace with salad, but waiter never came. So, we got up, informed welcoming attendant of our disappointment, and we left. We had an acceptable Christmas meal at Denny's, with much better service. We were overdressed for Denny's, but did not have better options at Christmas at the last moment. Best Christmas option hands down is Fogo de Chao...we will go there for NYE.
The only thing is that we went on Christmas Day and we were not told that the 20% tip would be included in the price. My husband added another $30 for the tip because he did not know it was included.
The Santa Clause could have interacted with the customers in the dining rooms a little more. We ran into him accidentally and got a picture but otherwise we would not have seen him.
Food was fantastic, fabulous, and amazing!!
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed Dining for Christmas brunch at the Pyramid Room. The selection was good and the ambiance was nice. The gentleman playing the music was excellent, as well.
The food was ok. We shared the red snapper, and it was a touch fishy on the bottom of the fish, and the shrimp dish which was not good at all. The service was good but not to much selection for cocktails. We did end up getting dessert because we figured to end the night with something delicious and it was.
I was expect a quality dining experience. They were pushing a buffet designed for a conference.
They appeared to be understaffed for the conference crowd and the food was very slow coming out. However, the servers that were there were extremely nice and as attentive as they could possibly be. Our waiter gave us complimentary extra glasses of wine because the food was taking longer than expected to arrive, which was appreciated.
It is such a lovely place w/fine food-------it is a shame to have untrained waitresses
Fantastic beyond burger
This is the restaurant for the Fairmont Hotel. Typical hotel restaurant. We had brunch here. The food was good and the service was adequate, but the atmosphere was not great.
We had a very enjoyable evening at the Pyramid Restaurant last Saturday, 10/5/19. The dinner was a dual celebration of our 17th anniversary and my birthday and the reception, the way we were treated, the service and, especially, the food was outstanding. I'll highly recommend this establishment for anyone searching for a memorable evening.
Long a favorite staple of mine and friends alike. Today’s visit was especially gratifying. We had the opportunity to relax and enjoy one of the best venues in town. Kim and Aida were gracious throughout our visit. This time honored tradition is celebrating 50 years of service to the community. They are very deserving of the host of awards that have been bestowed on the Pyramid since it’s inception. While tastes and dining have changed one thing that remains constant is their unbridled commitment to quality and impeccable service to guests.
The staff in the kitchen continues to honor any request. Joe is outstanding along with his colleagues. It’s a stellar experience that deserves continued accolades.
Can't be beat—excellent service and savory food. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Gustavo was amazing. Very kind, accommodating, professional, and personable.
We loved our food and the entire experience. It was my husband’s birthday, and he brought out a dessert with a candle.
We have been to Pyramid before, and have never been disappointed!
We ate here for our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Would recommend!
Outstanding dinner experience, what an amazing place!!
Truly an outstanding dining experience, what an amazing place!!
The extremely limited menu that had tree nuts in every item precluded us from dining here. I've never seen such a limited menu.
Pre Theater Dinner enjoyed the citrus and 1936 salad , the steaks and pasta dishes were excellent.
Celebrated my anniversary at the Pyramid. Great food, awesome atmosphere, and excellent customer service! Philip Powell made us really feel at home. He went the extra mile to ensure we were taken care of. My wife and I will return to Dallas for the food, fun and great hospitality!! Thanks for the great experience!!
SERVICE WAS beyond outstanding from entry to exit and all in between.
FOOD WAS AMAZING! SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING! Order the scallops. You won’t be disappointed. We will be back!
Great treat for mom for mother's day! We sat right in front of the live music and it was not too loud. We loved the
make your own petite cakes that came with their own perfect little to-go box.
It was an enjoyable, memorable and wonderful Mother's Day experience. The seafood, GREAT!
Celebrated Mother’s Day / Parents 49th Wedding Anniversary, first of all the staff at the pyramid was exceptional they where very attentive to us and treated us as though we where the only family there although the place was very full, the food was amazing and the ambience was absolutely gorgeous, could have pick a better place to celebrate our special day. Definitely a 5 star.
Pretty disappointed with the Mother's Day Brunch. Selection was pretty limited. The Salad Bar at Fogo de Chao and Texas Brazil have more selections than the brunch at Pyramid. The brunch was not served at the Pyramid Room but in the Venetian Room. The table was more for a lounge rather than a restaurant. Not enough room for the food and drinks to place on the table for four persons. Reason for selecting the Pyramid for brunch from a previous experience several years ago at the Fairmont Hotel. Management must have changed, as the quality is not the same.
We attended the incredible Easter brunch.... and the food!!!! Wow! So glad the Fairmont was able to snag exec chef from the mansion. Shellfish display - oysters, an incredible crab salad, shrimp - fresh and delicious. The meat offerings - lamb, beef cooked to perfection with fantastic updates on sauces offered. The dessert table.... wow! Anyway. We returned for the mother’s day jazz brunch. It was held in one of the ballrooms, so a bit ‘stuffy’, but food again was great. The music a lovely addition. And st $65/pp a STEAL! Go! You won’t regret it. Can’t wait for Christmas!!!
Glad I tried it. Not a lot on the menu that I wanted. Desserts were really expensive for what you got.
We ate a salad here on 4/26/19. Fresh and great tasting. Good service. We tried it again on 4/27/19 and tried the buffet. Food was marginal. Service was marginal. Wouldn’t recommend the buffet and the total cost was way over priced for what was available.
It was fine, but the food really wasn't all that tasty. The servers were great, though.
Great service, lovely presentation, delicious food!
The restaurant has a very limited menu leaving little selection at relatively highy prices.
Delicious food without being “fussy”. Relaxed atmosphere and extremely attentive service without being cloying. Exactly what I expect from a downtown hotel restaurant. Everything is excellent every time we go.
We had dinner for NYE, all went as planned. The food and service was excellent. I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic evening, the atmosphere is modern and upbeat, great for a group gathering or an upbeat lunch or dinner as a couple. It’s a solid 5 stars
First of all, you made a reservation when the Pyramid is not open. Secondly, it was for a brunch and only the International Banquet room was open from 10 - 2. We were lucky to be seated in the Banquet Room which was not what we wanted. We wanted something a bit more intimate. They did say you (Open Table) have been screwing up between the Banquet Room and the Pyramid Restaurant. This was very disappointing, especially for the amount they charged.
We came last year and we loved this place and loved the food. However, this year, there were less food selection and variety. They even removed the kids Buffett, crepes section, and so many more for the same price like last year. It was expensive and not worth it. I will not reserve to dine in this restaurant next year.
I made reservation for Christmas lunch. In spite of the fact that I received a confirmation for the Pyramid Room, when we arrived, we were advised that the Pyramid Room was closed and that lunch was being served in the International Ballroom. Of course I was shocked that this kind of change was made without notice on such an important day. Still, we decided to go with it. When we arrived at the ballroom we were advised that Open Table reservations had been lost. Nevertheless, they had a table. When we entered the room I was stunned. I could not believe people would pay to have lunch in such a sterile and tasteless space on Christmas. We immediately left. I was able to salvage the day by putting together a small lunch at home. Never again!
Our reservation was made and confirmed through OpenTable in the usual manner for Saturday evening 12/22/2018. The reservation was made about a week in advance and there was no indication of anything unusual. Upon arrival, we learned that the restaurant had shut down for the holiday season and was not available to us. No notice whatsoever was provided, and we were left with no option but to dine in the hotel bar, as we were headed to the theater and had no time available in which to hunt up a viable alternative. This was a birthday dinner, we were very disappointed in both the restaurant and the Open Table system.
We went to Pyramid for brunch on a Saturday with friends, one of whom was starring in a show at the Winspear. We made a reservation that allowed ample time for a meal prior to the time she had to be at the venue. We ended up crunched for time - everything was sooo slooow. The restaurant had only a couple of other patrons, so it's not like it was busy. There was no table set up for four, so they had to change it. Waited for the server, who then had to be reminded twice to bring the coffee one in our party had ordered. Waited some more for the food; late in that time block, someone randomly showed up with bread, I guess because they were worried that we'd start complaining? Once the food came it was fine; nothing special but as described and good quality. Then we waited some more and flagged down a different server (ours had dematerialzed) to get the to-go drink we'd ordered at the same time we placed the main order. Then had to flag someone down for the check. I was really looking forward to a smooth and sophisticated dining experience . . . if that's what you're after, try someplace else.
We went for the Thanksgiving dinner, it was absolutely great, first class all the way! I have eaten here before at a different occasion and it was great then. I wanted to last year but something came up.i will definitely go again. The valet parking extremely convenient and they validated my parking. If you want a first class experience with great food, this is the place. The waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable. But it's not just him. There is an entire staff there for anything you need. The maitre D was very nice and very helpful. I can't say enough good things about this place can't wait to go back
Aunt and Uncle, my husband and I spent almost $400 for a very disappointing Thanksgiving Dinner. Although the food was tasty, it was allowed to get cold and the layout made it a challenge to enjoy all of the options. Service was severely lacking as some of the people dressed as waitstaff seemed to speak no English at all. I must add that on top of the $70/ charge there was also a 24% built in gratuity. We will be crossing the Fairmont off our list of places to dine for the Holidays.
