May we suggest that you finish with our lemon grass ginger panna cotta for dessert!
My granddaughter and I had dinner here before going to Pantages Theater. The restaurant’s name is very deceiving. It is located in the beautiful iconic Ambassador Hotel and the restaurant is modern and upscale. Salmon and pork chop were our choices and delicious. Sadly, the bar isn’t great. I was given off brand Amaretto, so I sent it back. Waitress was very gracious about it. My granddaughter’s drink was basically pineapple juice and very little cheap rum. She drank it anyway. We both ordered name brand alcohol but the bar passed the cheap stuff off on us. But, the food, ambience and wait staff overshadowed the bar.
We had finished our appetizer before our cocktail had arrived and the food was just ok.
the burgers and fries actually came to the table too hot to eat! no one serves hot food anymore; so kudos on that. food, service, ambience - all came together for a delightful meal!
Enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. We enjoyed the house pinot with dinner.
We sat in in the covered area that can be separated for private parties so the noise was minimal.
We also received a decadent chocolate dessert as a treat for our anniversary.
Ordered the scallops and they were perfectly cooked (slightly crispy on the outside, but super tender on the inside). My hubby ordered the burger and it was great - huge and delicious. We ordered the corn and bacon hash -- wow, that's a keeper.
We were delayed in terrible traffic, but called to tell them. They were very accommodating and told us not to worry! Drive safely and they would hold our reservation for as long as necessary! They thanked me for calling and letting them know about our delay.
That went along way with me, as far as good PR 👍
The food was delicious and service was great. I will definitely go back 😃
Absolutely a wonderful dining experience! The drinks, shared plates to the entree...A+++
Would fully recommend, you won’t be sorry!
The food was delicious. Excellent Value. Service was outstanding
Muy bueno, las coles de bruselas no se pueden dejar de pedir!
Service wAs good and the food was good too! Great time - fun ambiance!
We had dinner at Public Kitchen & Bar before going to a show down the street. The restaurant is beautiful with an elegant, old-time Hollywood look and vibe. Service was lovely, and the brussels sprouts starter was just delicious. We had the pork chop and the chicken Jadori - both excellent. There was a wedding going on in the hotel lobby, which only added to the festive air. We'll definitely be back soon.
It’s like being in another era. Great food unique and delicious beverages.
Great food and nice atmosphere!
Good food, but far too loud - both in the restaurant and the noise from the lobby - for an enjoyable meal.
We chose the restaurant because we were attending an evening of jazz in Teddy's Bar at the Hollywood Roosevelt. We are so glad we did. Everyone in our party was very happy with the food and atmosphere. The service was friendly, well-informed and professional. We will return happily. We learned that Teddy's Bar serves off the same menu -- good to know.
Lunch before the theater. Excellent!
It was a nice quiet restaurant- old Hollywood. Food was good.
Went to the Roosevelt for a show and had dinner here before it started. I’d recommend giving at least 1 1/2 hours for dinner and drinks. We didn’t have enough time to order an entree so we opted for appetizers. We had calamari, a Caesar salad and some fries. All were delicious and surprisingly all plates were quite large.
I definitely recommend if seeing a show at the hotel, looking for a spot to have a drink, etc.
Location and ambiance ok if you want to eat before a performance close by. Other than that I’d skip it. Brussel sprouts super gooey and sweet and only made with outer leaves so very little substance. The highly touted “sourdough” bread looked and tasted more like a pumpernickel blend with absolutely no hint of sourdough in odor or taste. The waitress said another restaurant was taking over the location so maybe that will be better.
Love the old hotel setting. The wine was great and dinner fabulous.
Our waitet Ryan was fabulous he was extremely knowledgeable about the food menu and the wines.
He made our evening!!
I had my birthday there and our waiter was exceptional. The service was outstanding which made the experience wonderful. The food was also incredible. Loved the atmosphere!
The dining room is beautiful, and situated in a very snazzy hotel. Good location if you're a tourist visiting Hollywood Blvd. But the food is very pricey and not good at all. Go there for a cocktail (also pricey, but actually good), and totally skip the food.
My only problem was that there banked are so large it’s dificult to talk to the people sitting on the other side.
The small plates were mediocre at best - the balance of taste was missing (either too sour or too bitter) and texture of the fried calamari was not right. The salmon entree was decent but would have been better if served with a puree or sauce along with it. The cobbler dessert was enjoyable. Overall, food was too pricey considering the quality and taste. We did like our server and the ambiance.
Everything was flawless... from the service to the drinks, and of course, the food...
Brussels sprouts side dish was amazing
and so was the soup and the Public Burger
Going to the magic show... never dined there before but will again ... excellent!
Was so excited to eat here and just as disappointed by the food Cesar salad was tasty but skimpy. My octopus was good but the desserts were just so disappointing. The family sour dough was great. Service was great but did not make up for the food. Won’t be back anytime soon.
The whole staff was very attentive and kind. The food was delicious. There is no doubt in my mind I will be back soon.
Happy hour is nice. Great cocktails and burgers.
We were going to a show at the Dolby across the street. We ordered cocktails and waited over 30 minutes for those. Waitress argued with the bartender because apparently he did not see the order. All other tables in our area got their food while we continued to wait for our drinks. We on,y got our food after we complained to the manager . Of course by then we only had minutes to eat. They brought our Check with the food and charged us for food that had not been received yet. The manager offered to comp our long delayed drinks but that was not reflected on the bill. Overall awful experience and we will not be back
Take the waitstaff’s recommendations. They really know their stuff. We loved the charcuterie plate and Brussels sprouts. We were underwhelmed by the dessert options though.
The food was not very good and very expensive. The service was good.
Food was only ok. I ordered the lamb shank. It was supposed to come with honey dates. It did not. And the flavors were a bit bland. The food should be much better for the location and its local competition. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Amazing historic atmosphere and great food reasonably priced.
Very disappointing meal, service and outrageous valet parking fee of $16.50!!!!! I chose PB&K since I had an appointment at 2 in midWishire and my friend from Burbank so Hollywood seemed like a good travel compromise.
After the valet advised of the outrageous $16.50 parking fee which was ridiculously 50 cents LESS than my $17 Roosevelt signature salad, I went rom the lovely historic hotel into PK probably to keep their tables in close proximity. It was so loud (I understand tis the season for group office lunches) we asked to be moved and had to flag down the waitress throughout the meal; she never came to see if everything was ok or we needed anything else. The most annoying aspect of lunch was that I'm a vegetarian and ordered the Roosevelt salad WITHOUT bacon. Sure enough it arrived WITH bacon; we were on a tight time table and since the waitress was so busy she ignored us, I picked at the avocado, egg and lettuce and left the majority of the salad. I'll go to Musso & Franks or Paley's next time I'm in the Hollywood area!
Atmosphere is great. Historic place --Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe and other were there. Server Tony was outstanding!
We had a wonderful thanksgiving dinner here. Although we needed to wait to get served for a pretty long time, what came after that was worth waiting. Our server Antonio helped us in a very pleasant manner, serving us nicely cooked thanksgiving dishes (including best turkey we ever had).
I had the Thanksgiving dinner, which was quite tasty. The turkey breast was even very tender and moist. I might recommend that they steam the haricots verts a couple of minutes longer; they were so crunchy that I tried only a couple of them, and left the rest on the plate. Had the Bourbon Pecan Pie for dessert, and it was superb. BTW, all of the staff were very attentive.
