The food was delicious and overall the service was excellent. We also enjoyed the musicians that played during brunch. This was our first time dining at Preston’s, and we would definitely go back!
Bar tender is amazing!!! Nice and hard working.
Waitress was awful- not attentive and took forever to take order and bring us drinks that we could see were sitting on. At and ready to be served. Restaurant was not busy either and the bar was! Food was sub par- I asked for no sauce- it came on my meal and our waitress could have cared less. Didn’t offer us a new one or any money off. Very disappointing. Two people ordered steak- couldn’t even cut it with a sharp knife. Such a bummer! Ambiance festive and fun on a football game weekend though- bar tenders create great atmosphere!
Wonderful Sunday brunch! Service was fantastic! Highly recommend.
A restaurant dedicated to the customer’s dining pleasure. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. We will definitely eat there again when we return to Blacksburg.
We arrived at 1 for our reservation. The restaurant was pretty empty which made me wonder why we could not have gotten an earlier reservation when I tried. The brunch food was good but after sitting out for hours was not looking fresh.
Was somewhat surprised that there was no bread with entree, otherwise great meal. Bread pudding was fabulous
It was okay, I think our server was new - food was good.
Sunday breakfast buffet was delicious and had a nice selection of quality food. We had a poor experience checking in. Nobody acknowledged our existence for at least five minutes. Despite arriving early, did not get seated until 12 minutes after our reservation.
I would probably go back to this restaurant, but not if they are serving a buffet.
We went to Preston's for a nice family dinner and was told they are only doing a (very tired looking) buffet for $35 per person - normal entrees are in the $15 range. I didn't want to spend $140 not including tax, tip or beverage.
Complained and was able to order from the regular menu in the restaurant- I would give that food 5 stars but the buffet 1 star, so I arrived at 3 overall.
Bad business to not inform guests with reservations that the restaurant is only serving a buffet, and the items on the buffet could not justify the $35 price tag (mac and cheese, pasta salad, hushpuppies, other stuff that was not appetizing.
Server was terrific and trying to make the best of it.
We didn’t know it was only a buffet that was very expensive so we didn’t eat there.
Only complaint was that we arrived to find dinner was buffet and not menu. That should have been made very clear on the restaurants website and it was not. My lady friend and I both went over the menu online to see what we liked. That of course wasn't available since it was buffet only. The buffet was above average, but the price of $35.00 each was high for a buffet.
Just a normal lunch after church. They did a wonderful job. And meals were fantastic. Just go please.
I started with a fruit salad. It was wonderful and huge and very fresh. Then I ordered an omelet which included several slice of bacon (or sausage) and potatoes. The omelet was fill with ham bits. The breakfast was delicious and we could have ordered more. My husband ordered the Appalachian Breakfast which included lots of bacon, scrambled eggs, fried apples, and grits. He loved everything. It was a big breakfast and lasted us all day. There were several choices. We purchased a room package so the breakfast was included with the price of the room. We were very pleased.
The bread pudding was amazing
We thought the food was average with too much butter/grease. Had expected better. Expensive as well. Service was great. Felt welcomed with the smiles. Would not return for dinner but may try the Sunday brunch later.
Better than average food, service and value. Easy in and out. Pleasant surroundings. We have eaten here several times, tried the New Years Eve dinner and used the take out for a holiday meal. We have never been disappointed!
We were loved the it!! We felt so welcomed after a long day of traveling. The bartender welcomed us with open arms. Manager checked on us too...Great service, really good and fun place...
Very nice breakfast buffet and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.
Very nice hotel restaurant and bar.
It was a good experience but we went for brunch and it was a buffet, was not expecting that. Overall good experience I just thought it was gonna be a more romantic meal for my boyfriend and I
The staff was great and checkin in frequently, the food was good but in my opinion overpriced for what it was and it came out a little bit cold.
Great place to take a dressed up date and not fill out of place. Food is fantastic. Usually have live music but didn’t this Valentine’s Day. Missed the music!
Wonderful food, great Valentine's date! This is our second time and it will not be the last!
Staff was very personable and attentive. Food was fresh, definitely intend to dine upon return.
Our entree was the seafood special and it was delicious and very unique. We finished with a bread pudding dessert. It was divine and even had coddled cream with it. I was surprised the restaurant was open since it was just after Christmas, but it was and easily socially distant. The hallway decorations were wonderful. All in all, it was a great experience eating there.
Our brunch was wonderful. Very friendly staff and outstanding food. Preston's never disappoints.
Visiting our son at Virginia Tech and stayed at the Inn at Virginia Tech. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. They could not have been friendlier or more attentive. I highly recommend dining at Prestons.
Overall it’s a good and clean place to eat. My wife and I’s biggest complaint is that it’s a bit slow. That said the portions were good and this is the first place I’ve been to where the peas tasted good. Make sure you have time to spare before going here.
The menu is limited, but the offerings are diverse. My pork chop, sweet potato mash and collard greens had a great southern flavor and was a great combination of meaty, sweet and sour. My wife’s trout, scallop risotto was creamy, with robust seasonings, too die for. Service was efficient, not rushed and very friendly and helpful. Even got some good tourist advice. The wine list is also limited, but with a reasonable price range. Loved the decor.
Good service in some very trying times. Food was great.
Being my first trip to Blacksburg and staying at The Inn where Preston's is located was the best thing i could have done. The food is excellent along with the service and staff. The bartenders were out of sight and everyone was very friendly and made sure that my friends and i were taken care 100 percent.
The food was mediocre at best. I did not enjoy my experience there.
Excellent service, quality of food superb and nice atmosphere.
Three people in my party bought 3 different dishes. None of us like our dishes. We expected more based on recommendations from other people. We will not be going back.
Breakfast buffet was great. Fresh food and very friendly service was enjoyed by whole family.
Friday night seafood buffet is really wonderful. Large wine selection and great service. Only reason I scored a little lower on ambiance is the family at the table next to us discussed politics and Corona virus the entire time.
It was good but not as much of a selection as I'd hoped. Their Sunday Brunch Buffet is much better than the Friday Seaford Buffet, hands down.
As usual, the service was outstanding. The staff was very attentive to our needs and questions.
I love this Restaurant. One of the few in the NRV that gets it right all the time
We had the special Valentine's Day menu. The food was amazing! I can't pick a favorite course of the meal because they were all delicious.
