I totally recommend this lovely restaurant the food is terrific in a great setting. The staff are very helpful and friendly and we had a most enjoyable evening. When the weather is good there is a sitting area outside which overlooks the water and the creek. Would highly recommend this place.

After a worrying start when the restaurant didn't have our booking we did enjoy a very nice meal although the evening was spoilt by the suggestion we would have to give up our table at 8.30. Fortunately that time came and went.

We booked for Sat at 6.30 hoping it wouldn't be busy. How wrong we were. We couldn't sit down easily without hitting the table behind us due to the tables being rammed in. The person sitting on the end was repeatedly knocked by waiting staff as they walked past. The food had to be handed down the table as the staff couldn't get to them. It was very loud. It was sweltering and to finish it off it appeared that anything cooked in their tomato sauce was overloaded with salt. Needless to say we won't be visiting again.

This is the third time we've eaten here and have not been dispointed!
Staff are friendly and welcoming and happy to recommend dishes.
Their ever changing specials menu means that there is always something new to try (we can heartily recommend the seafood platter with prawns, scallops and sea bass if it's on!)
They are extremely welcoming to families with children (young or older).
We look forward to returning, especially after our waiter told us about the lobster available in the spring/summer 😃

The meal was well presented and tasted great. Portion sizes were just right and delivery of each course was just about right. No long waits despite the restaurant being full.
Service was very efficient and staff polite.

After taking my partner out for a Valentine's day surprise on the 13th of Feb and participating in various activities I booked a reservation at possilipos for the evening.
Having never been before I was a little worried at first as the evening had to go perfectly! (As Valentine's day should..)

The service from the very beginning, from the door being opened for my lovely lady upon arrivial to helping us retrieve our coats before leaving was impeccable.
The staff were kind, polite and patient as well as human.. which is always nice.

The food. The idea of the meals we had are mouth-watering, everything was beautifully presented and was very, very tasty!

The wine. Our waitor selected our wine for us, my partner having red, myself having white as we wanted something different but were not entirely sure which to choose. The waitor selected a lovely wine for us both, needless to say my partner and I were very pleased.

When my lovely lady went to the rest room as cheesey as this sounds I requested cheekily that a flower be placed on the table before she returned to which the waitor happily obliged, this actually made her night as it was something I did on our first date and she loved it!

My partner and I are still talking about this restaurant 5 days later planning our next trip!

Big thank you to possilipos as a whole, you were the icing on the cake finishing our evening off perfectly!

We have been dining at Posillipo for the last 4 or 5 years and we have never had a bad experience. The food is excellent, especially the splendidly crafted specials.

The staff are very welcoming and polite throughout the meal.

The restaurant has a great astmosphere and is beautifully furnished.

I particularly like the Italian crafted beers, and my wife (who is always looking ahead to pudding!!) loves the sorbet.

All in all a perfect place for a lovely meal and evening out.

Always enjoyable with great food and a good selection of wines. Slipped my mind that there would be a set menu on New Years Eve, however there was a great choice of courses for each of us dining.

Really relaxed venue similar to Davys Winebars in London. Food is excellent the Prawns were the best I have had in the UK similar to what you get in the med. Large juicy and tender. The dried meats for starter were of a high quality also highly recommended. The waiter continually topped up the wine without being over bearing offering advice but not pushy, as was the waitress. Both were worthy of a pat on the back. I will definitely be returning on a regular basis well done to the proprietors on running an efficient business in a clean relaxed venue.

Good restaurant , good personal but the kitchen is not every day ok.
Normaly a steak is more then 500 gr. It was 250 or 300 gr. We received as compensation a digestif. I was not satisfied with that compensation.

My Daughter and I booked a table for 6pm Sat evening. We have been here many times but this night as awful. We where put in the conservatory then the whole place filled up with Family's and Children. I commend any restaurant for catering for Children but this was ridicules. So noisy and to top it all there where four buggies blocking the doorway to the restaurant even the waiters had problems getting past them. Needless to say we left before deserts. I have never given bad feed back before so this is a first. Your food is great, and the service is first class but next time I book a table I will ask to be put in the main restaurant away from screaming kids!!

We were in kent visiting for the weekend for our anniversary we went to posillipo again after stumbling across it late last year as we really enjoyed it . But unfortunately I was very disappointed with the whole experience, we were seated and after 10min we had to flag a waiter down for the menu and when it came to ordering food the waiter was unable to make any minor adjustments to our dishes, even something simple as adding pomodoro sauce to a pasta dish i explained to the waiter that i was a vegetarian but he clearly wasn't interested and bothered and simply said the pizza is vegetarian. I was rather annoyed with the whole experience, especially after our first visit was surprisingly pleasant. Even more upsetting as when it came to paying the bill they were quick to ask if we wanted to leave a tip which was rather cheeky.

Great service especially from Lorenzo. Authentic Italian experience, flavour combinations of dishes are excellent. For the best romantic experience go when the river is full so check your tide tables before booking. Also check what sides are needed with your dish as our waiter did not suggest this, and we had to order when the main arrived, delaying things, as we thought the dish was a complete meal.
Will go again and want to work our way through the excellent menu.

We try to go to Posillipo as often as possible and we always try and choose one of the specials for that day as the combinations of ingredients are inspiring. The food is cooked to perfection and always tastes amazing.

There is also a fine selection of Italian beers, and although a little pricy they are very good.

The staff are very polite and you get greeted in a warm and friendly manner. It is nice to know that they recognise frequent visitors and the welcome is pleasing.

See you next time

The restaurant is in a beautiful setting on the creek with outside dining and views of the river and boats....spectacular. The service was amazing and the food superb. Would definitely visit again. It was very helpful the fact that the waiting staff had so much knowledge of the food and menu and could therefore make recommendations based on our special requests

We made our first visit recently and were really surprised at the quality of the food and the menu's variety - certainly a ct above the normal Italian fare. I had a lovely freshly cooked seabass ravioli, the ravioli was jam packed with the fish and was accompanied by a tasty and filling sauce. Everyone in our group enjoyed their dishes equally. Service was attentive throughout. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon.

This was my 3rd time at Posillipo and whilst it was lovely to sit by the creek on a beautiful summers evening, the food was a bit ordinary and the service below par - our Rosemary bread never appeared even though it was charged and the cream offered for dessert was missing too. I would probably give it another chance but I won't rush back.

I have now eaten twice at Posillipo in Faversham: On both occasions I was at lunch. The first time my friend and I both opted for pizza, and being married to an Italian, I was not disappointed. The pizza was not overloaded with topping (maybe a bit scarce for those with more English tastes), and the base was tasty and well cooked. However, we kept watching other people's dishes going past, and thinking that perhaps we should have been more adventurous.

The second time was last Thursday (11th June '15), and I was lunching with my daughter and my mother in law (who is Italian); it was in celebration of my daughter's 18th birthday.

We were greeted by a really happy pleasant waiting staff, and seated at our choice of tables (it wasn't very busy, being quite early). The doors were open as it was a lovely day, and there were plenty of outside tables, but our preference was to eat inside. Our food was really gorgeous, and the bread on the table was still hot from the oven, and unfortunately really good, so we all scoffed it down, and regretted it later when our food came out and we couldn't manage desserts! My ma in law and I both opted for Vongole, and our request to have linguine instead of spaghetti was happily accommodated: The plate was lovely, with just the right amount of vongole for the pasta. My daughter had the cod with a tomato, caper, and anchovy sauce, with some sauteed potatoes, and it was delicious.

Well done Posillipo, two lovely lunches, great service, and we have been lucky enough to have a good atmosphere there too. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this, and will certainly be going back soon.
