Pinstripes - Georgetown Ratings and Reviews
For an establishment that bills itself as appropriate for large parties, it unfortunately seemed inadequately prepared for us. On Sat. night, 7:45pm - peak dining time - we were informed when placing our order that they had run out of two items on the menu. No problem, we ordered other things. After waiting for our food for 30 minutes or more, a manager came out to apologize to two people at our table, informing them that they'd ordered an entree that they had since run out of. Graciously, he offered to comp their meals, but then we knew what would happen - even though we were assured it wouldn't. Eight of us would be served first, and their two meals would come out later. Oddly, when delivery of the food began, one person at our table was served his meal alone. After another 10 minutes or so, 7 of us were served. And then another 5-10 minutes later, those two who'd placed their orders later were finally served. While some people were pleased with their meals once served, others complained that the temperature was off. Overall, the experience left most of us unsatisfied and doubtful as to whether we'd return.
I should note that my low rating for Service is not for the wait staff - they were friendly, efficient and apologetic for the missteps. The blame should really go to how the restaurant and kitchen are managed. Of course, large parties can be difficult, but they really should've had a better handle on which items they were running low on and communicated that with us sooner. In addition, they should have managed delivery of the entrees better once the errors had been made.
Finally, this is nit-picky but still left an impression on my overall experience. The next day, I received an email via OpenTable that my reservation had been cancelled - even though I'd checked in at the hostess desk, informing them of my OpenTable reservation. So I had to send a message to OpenTable asking for my points to be credited, which they thankfully did so promptly.
The waitstaff really need to work on being more friendly, especially first thing in the morning. Nobody wants to see a sour face when walking in the door. They seemed clueless and annoyed because we arrived 10 minutes early. We were given morning menus for ten minutes bc someone couldn’t tell us it was lunch at 11. Our waiter seemed annoyed and unsmiling. If you want a better tip, greet the table kindly with a smile . The restaurant experience will not send me back anytime soon.
Waiter(s) were present to take our order and bring drinks but then we didn’t see them again for almost 25 minutes. When food arrived it was all cold—cheese on pizza had already congealed. My husband had the lasagna which was too salty for him to eat. I recall having a good flatbread pizza there a couple years ago but this was horrible. We will not be going back.
Tasty casual fare, delivered in so-so ambience. On the night that we visited, the dining room was too cold, we couldn't have the draft beers we ordered because they were all coming out warm, and then we had to remind our server to take the draft beers off of the tab.
The meal was good and the staff tried to accommodate my friend’s gluten free lifestyle. However, we seemed to have been forgotten by our waiter, making us late for our bocce reservation. They then agreed to carry our children’s desserts to the bocce court. There was a mixup with the desserts and the waitress said that we had ordered something else...but we finally ended up with what we wanted. It all ended well with a few laughs, but the service could have been better.
My family came to visit us in DC for the holidays. I was looking for a dinner / activity for our large group that would accommodate children (ages 13-19) and the adults, who prefer a nice glass of wine to bowling. So this was the perfect spot. The plan was to bowl and then have dinner in the restaurant. Unfortunately our bowling alley had technical issues during our game, and after many attempts to repair it, the manager offered to move us to an alternate lane. Because we were headed to dinner, we were unable to accept his offer. He generously compensated us for the inconvenience without any discussion. We then had a perfect dinner for 10 of us. Thank you so much!
The menu was so diverse. We ordered the Short Ribs based on our servers recommendation and were blown away, best dinner I've had out in a long time.. Definitely casual but the food was prepared and presented like a high end restaurant. The hostess was a snob and inattentive but our server more than made up for it, he was excellent. Friendly and funny, added to the positive experience.
We had high hopes for this experience, but the wait staff was horrible. We were seated and it took a long time for the waiter to come. We wanted to order, but he said he needed to replace our place mats. He never returned. The table next to us asked three staff members to provide their check as their waiter had disappeared too. We not sat there dumbfounded by the complete disregard. So, we all got up and left.
The occasion for us was a small corporate social outing. Pinstripes Georgetown provided the perfect venue. Happy hour with great food and drinks was a good fit for the group while engaging in a challenging game of bocce ball. Everyone had a blast and are looking forward to the next visit. Thanks!
We celebrated a birthday (for an adult) bowling, eating and drinking at Pinstripes. It was a blast. The staff could not have been more accommodating and attentive. The food, pizzas and flatbreads, was terrific. Very good wine list and great beers. Really much more fun and more festive than I had imagined it would be.
I celebrated my birthday at pinstripes two years in a row. I plan on attending each birthday until the place is closed. Bowling and pizza was awesome the first year. They have the best pizza and i know because I'll from New York lol. The brunch is amazing and worth the price. The food is so delicious. The staff is great. My first and I had a awesome time.
I had my birthday party here and had such a great time. Jenna, the manager, was really accommodating to my party and made sure we had a great time. Patrick, our server, was helpful in helping us pick out what to eat and drink and was so patient with us not knowing what we wanted.
Thanks to another restaurant that wouldn't serve us "just drinks" on their patio and said we'd have to order a full meal to stay outside or belly up to the bar, we continued walking around Georgetown and found Pinstripes by accident about a month ago. I'm SOOO glad we did! This is our new favorite place for brunch! The food was delicious and our server top notch! The bottomless mimosas were delightful! The omelette station and waffle station were awesome! The presentation of the food was wonderful and the whole staff was eager to please! We can't wait to go back!!!!
I went here recently for a summer's end get together with friends, food and service was good. We also did two rounds of bowling and drinks, I have been here several times before and each time it is a great atmosphere for family and friends. Cost is about average compared to other area places, looking forward to returning soon!
Food was a little disappointing, we both had pizza and shared a salad...nothing special, both agreed &pizza was a better pizza for a better price! Service wasn't overly friendly, the reservation was for my husband's 30th birthday but they didn't mention it at all. However we did have an hour of bowling after which was great fun! And the pinstripes socks were a nice touch!
Wouldn't return for the food but would return for the fun!
My girlfriend and I decided to try this place along the canal in Georgetown and we are so glad we did. We asked for a table outside since it was a beautiful, cool night. Sitting at an outdoor table made it more interesting for us because we saw a lot of the foot traffic going through the canal area. We had a very polite server - an American University student from Florida - and he was very prompt and efficient. We ordered a delicious bottle of Pinot Noir from the wine list and we were really pleased with the result. We both had pasta dishes as well as a salad and stuffed mushrooms for our appetiziers. All four dishes were simply delicious and very filling. We will definitely go back! Thanks!
