Pig n Whistle-46th St.
Quick delicious fun place to eat before a show. They let us linger at the table. Recommend!
Great food, nice venue next to times square! The crab cake for starters was lovely followed by the signature burger. Very delicious
There are a few Pig n Whistles in the area. I sat at the bar at the one near Penn Station and enjoyed the bar food and drinks immensely. This time, we tried this one due to its proximity to a concert we were going to. Large, multilevel bar/restaurant that are common in the forties midtown. A selling point are the highboy tables near an open balcony overlooking the street on the second floor, but we opted for a regular table behind those. Food was OK, but nothing special. While generally satisfied, a lot of little things detracted from my experience. My friend ordered a Guinness, but got an Octoberfest. We ordered 12 oysters but got only ten and the shucking left quite a bit of shell in them. I was spitting shell from every one I ate. The missing oysters were deducted from the bill (can't complain too much at only $1.00 each) and a wrong beer wasn't worth complaining about to us. The almond encrusted cod on special was fine, but small and a bit dry. I wished I'd ordered the fish and chips with lots of tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Notable pluses: The beer was fresh, tables/chairs were comfortable and bathrooms were singles and clean. I'd come back on those points alone but eat something less exotic.
Great food, great atmosphere. I would go back anytime.
I love this place, they have one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. It's a bar scene but super casual, could also be a date night. Definitely good for happy hour and sports.
The pulled pork burger visibly burnt the side of my sons mouth, I feel the meat was microwaved so it had "hot spots", he had a mark for days. The chips must have been reheated as they were mostly just like crisps
The food was really good. We had appetizers and drinks. Everyone liked their cocktails. We really liked the macaroni bites!
It was the perfect stop after a day of walking around the city. Food was excellent, everyone was happy with what they got!!
The staff member on arrival was extremely helpful and showed us to our pre booked table, even though we were late due to the flash storm it wasn’t an issue for them. Then the waitress came and answered any questions about the menu we had. The steak I ordered was delicious and none of our party could fault any part of the food
Would definitely go again
I chose Pig and Whistle because it was located near the theater. We were seated immediately and my request to sit downstairs was honored. The service was very good. Brunch specials were delicious. I ordered the French Onion soup and was disappointed. They also let us sit as long as we liked without any problem. The restaurant, however, was not very cool and it was hot outside.
The pictures online are very misleading. The ambience displayed online does not match the actual interior of the restaurant.
Service was so-so, having to ask for refills on water/beverages. The food quality was very average, nothing to write home about. One of the bathrooms was out of order, and the one that was working could have been cleaner.
Very good place for a pub style meal before or after theater.
Showed up for our reservation only to be informed by the waiter they were closing in 10 minutes and could not accommodate us
Meanwhile others continued to arrive and gain entry
I thought it was a joke at first but no joke !
Great for being off the beaten track a bit before theater...no problem getting served in plenty of time for a stress-free walk to the theater.
As an experienced survey designer and analyst, allow me to introduce you to the concept of survey fatigue. It occurs when nearly every on-line encounter with a product or service vendor triggers an on-line satisfaction survey. This bombardment comes from many places: airlines, car rentals, Amazon purchases, American Express, dining at your neighborhood eatery. Sorry but you have already exceeded your survey request limit.
I see that in order to complete this survey certain questions require responses. I have scored them neutral so as not to favor or disfavor this particular product.
Poor service ruined it. Too interested in chatting to colleagues and not service
We really enjoyed this restaurant. It was very crowded when we arrived but we were promptly seated at our reservation time. The majority of the restaurant is in the bar area, filled with high tables and stools that were a little too high for us and the hostess gave us one of two regular tables in the back in an area that was almost private and definitely more quiet which we appreciated. Our waiter was friendly, brought us menus promptly, answered our questions, and gave us ample time to decide on what we wanted to order without being intrusive. The California Cobb salad was excellent and my cousin enjoyed her hamburger platter. The restaurant was very clean and the decor was traditional with lots of wood and exposed brick walls. It had a very homey feel and all of the staff we talked to were as friendly as our waiter. It is most definitely a genuine Irish Pub. A fun place that I highly recommend.
It took a little while for the waitress to warm up to us, but after awhile she did and we all had a great time.
This visit not up to usual standards. Server was not on the ball. Burgers not cooked to requested doneness and ordered items didn't arrive with order. No crowd so really no reason other than wait service.
Service was very slow
Decor was cute! Food was ok but service was horrible! To make matters worse we were a party of 8 and the waitress got 20% automatically! No water, no water refill, never checked on us during the meal. Every time I was looking for her she was standing by the bar talking to the bartender. Ugh Management needs to get better wait staff
Everything from the appetizer to the three meals we ordered were fabulous! The cheese plate felt a bit skimpy for the price but the quality of the items on it were superb! We will definitely be back for the fajitas and shepherds pie!
Absolutely fabulous oysters. Great value and large portions for brunch. Great food too. Will return!
Good experience and reasonable prices. We would go again.
Cool atmosphere, our server was great and the value I thought was great!
Everything was great. Only hiccup was our meal came out before our appetizer’s.
Host did not record my visit so there was confusion by Open Table on credit.
Very empty at noon on Saturday before matinee.
Service was well meaning but amateur.
Food was basic pub food as advertised but really
Great value and service. No feeling of being rushed. Just a bit noisy for my aging ears.
Food and service was very good. My wife and I had the Fish and Chips. The fish was very very good. My son had Brussel sprout salad with chicken which he enjoyed and my daughter-in-law had the crab cake which was very good. My son had a chocolate lava cake we had the Irish coffee. Service was very very good and we had a really nice time. We had dinner here after a Broadway show, Come From Afar which absolutely fantastic.
Pre theater lunch.
Great place to hang out with coworkers after work. Thanks to pig n whistle for allowing to reserve through open table for a large group!
Delicious brunch with a free Bloody Mary. Great ambiance and fun place!
By and large, a fair deal given the overpriced eateries in the theater district. But, $16 for six chicken wings as an appetizer and $9 for onion rings? The onion rings were quite good, but the wings left a lot to be desired... skip the appetizers, keep it simple... burger or a dinner salad won't bust the budget.
We were very pleasantly surprised by our first visit to this restaurant. We had a nice table and the food was excellent.
We went to see a play and chose Pig and Whistle Times Square to have dinner Good food good service and very quick We will go back!!!!!
The website doesn't specify which days they have brunch. We made a reservation thinking we would eat brunch, but it was not available. The staff was courteous and we ate a very delicious lunch there.
The food was very good. I had the shrimp tacos.
Great food & drinks! Fun music. Relaxing atmosphere. Really cool place!
I was pleased and pleasantly surprised of how good the carbonara dish was. I wasn’t expecting such quality from an Irish – type establishment.
My server was excellent, attentive, even though the restaurant was quite busy.
The only negative I found was that the coffee after the meal was not of great quality. Other than that, I would recommend this place. But upstairs or downstairs has a very lively bar activity.
I do not recommend the house hard cider, it was awful but the food was really good! My friend and I had the pulled pork sandwich and my other friend had the burger. It was all prepared really well and was delicious!
