Peacock Café Ratings and Reviews
Dined here for a birthday lunch and could not have been more pleased. They have a lovely outdoor patio and the inside is very nice as well. Menu is well rounded with traditional entrees and a great sandwich and salad selection. We both ordered the 3 course lunch for approx. $27. God the Med salad which was very fresh, the Gene Kelly sandwich and the sorbet and berries. The sandwich was excellent and the sorbet tasted like a vanilla bean which was a nice surprise as I was expecting the usual lemon. Also got the ravioli which was served on a bed of fresh spinach and was excellent as well. Of note, the entrees are full size with the special. Good wine (somewhat limited selection but excellent choices), great bourbon and scotch. Definitely will be returning soon.
It was our first time to dine at Peacock Café. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was attentive and the service was very good. There is a wide offering of selections on the menu. I had the Rainbow Trout special for lunch and my partner had the Crab Cake meal. We loved our food and enjoyed being able to sit outside on such a beautiful day. I look forward to coming back for a Sunday brunch.
I have been going to Peacock Café for years. It's a phenomenal spot for a good-tasting, classy and relatively affordable Georgetown dinner. The food is just great (try the savory tomato bisque) and the ambiance is great for all occasions - from intimate dates to loquacious friend reunions. Check it out!
We chose this place based on previous reviews-- I was not impressed. I tend to lean towards CornBeef, if it's an option as I LOVE to try it at different places. I do ask specifically how it's prepared prior to ordering as there is GREAT, "in house" corn beef and then there is "Canned"(Hormel)- I'm pretty sure this was the latter, NOT good at all-
The fruit salad was good and the staff were pleasant.
Love when the owner comes to the table, introduces himself, and asks about your meal because he cares, not because it is a corporate requirement. Food, staff and service were all top notch. Great spot for Georgetown parents for dinner/drink after navigating a long day at the Hilltop.
The jumbo lump crab cake was delicious, but I thought the Caesar salad was completely uninspired/bland, and the little toasts that they served for croutons were stale and had no flavor at all. The place needs to do a little work on their flavors and creativity. Overall quality yummy food and a delicious quick bite for lunch with my mom. Most impressive however was I left my wallet on my table and the waiter ran right out to find me and return it to me.
Peacock Cafe offers interesting food with a Middle East background, in a lively (but not loud) setting, with white linen table clothes, pleasant not pushy service, at reasonable prices. Ideal for parents of students at nearby Georgetown U., for business lunches, or evening get togethers. Relax over good food. Sunday Brunch is special.
