Park West Tavern
COMFORT FOOD WITH AN ATTITUDE
Park West Tavern has a great vibe with interesting dishes to choose from like short rib egg rolls and to die for Brussel sprouts in a honey mustard sauce with bacon. They sat us in a comfy half booth/half seat table right by the window. On a Friday night, the atmosphere was fun and upbeat. For a NJ suburban restaurant this is where you want to go for a fun and delicious dinner.
Reliable, comfortable brunch spot. Food and service are very good.
Always a pleasure.Seasonal specials are always exceptional. My reservation request was honored.
Great place for a business lunch of night out with family.
Always a good choice for delicious cocktails and food. Requested table by fireplace which was honored. Lively, warm and welcoming atmosphere!
Excellent food. Large portions of quality food. On quality to price this is one of the better places in NJ. Frankly, they probably aren’t charging enough for some of the dishes. Drinks are reasonable too. Only complaint was waitress was total oddball and didn’t know menu at all. Said short rib wasn’t spicy and it was very, very spicy. Delicious for those who liked spice but not so much for the person who asked and ordered on promise it wasn’t spicy.
Always have a great experience, from the bartender who remembers us, even if we haven't been there in a few months, to the menu that always has something that grabs our attention, to yummy zeppolies for dessert. Don't miss the cheesesteak egg rolls as a starter. The burgers are filling, and you get your own little dish of house made ketchup. They don't overwhelm you with fries, but there are enough. I had the short rib special, my husband had the swordfish special and cleared his plate. We finished with the previously mentioned zeppolies that come with little bottles of chocolate and raspberry sauce and homemade whipped cream. Valet parking makes the night even better.
Food and service were quite good. Somewhat pricey for what we ordered. Very, very loud.
Usually outstanding experience not great this past visit. Food took way too long and was cold when it came out. Obviously, someone made a mistake because the restaurant was not crowded.
First time at Park West and had a great dinner. I had the Octoberfest special and my wife had the short rib. Both were excellent. My son had the kids fried chicken and loved it. Drinks and service were great too.
Service was very attentive and helpful. Some confusion on one of our meals versus menu description. Overall it is a decent place for a meal when in Ridgewood.
I ordered heirloom tomato salad and there was not one heirloom tomatoe. There were not ripped and mushy tomatoes for $23. My advise is to ask if there are heirloom tomatoes. I didn’t send it back because I was with my family and didn’t want to make a fuss
Stopped in for dinner quick before a movie with family. Food was good service was good got out on time… Worked out perfect!
Very good food, service and atmosphere we loved it,thank you. Great place to unwind and have fun,we love coming here.
Great looking place, good crowd but still some tables available on a Saturday night. Nice to have a full-service bar in Ridgewood! Spring roll appetizer and tuna entree were delicious. Short menu, but they do have specials. Valet parking is key in busy downtown Ridgewood. We will be back.
Wait staff was excellent
Food was delicious
Great food and great attentive service!!!! Great evening out.
Had a look at the menu beforehand and it didn’t match really anything on the menu while at the restaurant but everything we ordered was delicious.
This was a nice restaurant with a cozy atmosphere , good , food friendly service. There was the ability to make a same day reservation and not a long wait, Great service.
Been to PWT multiple times but this time was a disaster. My Open Table reservation was cancelled even though I was placed in the booth of choice and my name was found on the list. (Open Table had graciously restored). Wrong menus were provided and the girl never came back with the correct ones. Food was brought and taken away for some reason initially. Utensils not brought for coffee. Short ribs were awful and kobe sliders smelled weird. Our waitress was super pleasant and helpful throughout all of this and I was grateful for her.
A fine meal. Was greeted at the door by name and shown right to a table outdoors as I requested in the reservation. The food was great and the service was attentive but not intrusive.
Recently updated menu, with a number of new and delicious appetizer options. Excellent burgers and steak salads. Good bar, although the wine list tends towards value pricing rather than quality.
Being as it was a Friday in August, when everyone is on vacation, we had no problem getting a last minute reservation at prime time. We didn't even need the valet parking as there was an open spot on the street. They've changed the seats - new ones are super comfortable, even with my back issues. Had a few drinks at the barn. haven't been there in months, yet the bartendress remembered us and our preferred drinks. Once we had shaken off work, we were seated and given menus. Two items were recommended - The Short Rib and the Skirt Steak, both from the bottom section of the menu. We started with the Philly Steak Egg Rolls - so super, and then the guys got the skirt steak, which was over a tomato salad and I had the Short Rib, of which I ate 1/2 and took the rest home for dinner this week. Decided to split an order of Zeppolies. You get small bottles of raspberry and chocolate sauce with them. You squeeze your choice into the zeppoli and yum. Great service, great food, great way to start the week.
The Staff and our waiter was attentive and very nice. We both had the avocado w/orange salad - it was a little small for a lunch portion even with the grilled shrimp added (3). One issue - the first table we sat at had a very distinctive odor and we had to move.
Was there during Ridgewood restaurant week and they had a nice selection of food to try.
Creative dishes throughout all seasons. Always offering healthy options. Wonderful staff, hospitality and overall service.
Don't come here for the oysters...a lot to be desired
Very poor service
Good food in a nice setting!
Went for Sunday Brunch . It was ok not outstanding at all . Has been better on previous visits.
Very good food.
Service was great.
In this day and age, when so many people are gluten free, to have a restaurant that does not mark on the menu what is gluten free is bad business. No gluten free menu. No gluten free options. No gluten free hamburger buns or bread of any kind. In addition, we can not have dairy. Fine, no gluten and no dairy. Well this threw them into chaos. All of the sauces have butter. I have to say that the French Fries were delicious but we had basically 1 or 2 things that we could eat on the whole menu. It is not that I do not want to go back. It is that there is nothing for us to eat.
In NYC, 1/3 of diners ask for a gluten free menu at the top restaurants. It is 2019. How can a restaurant just ignore that market? Makes no sense to me.
We have gone to PWT. Many times for dinner and brunch. The food is always very good, service attentive, ambiance pleasant. Very good value for the money.
The food was OK. The fish was tasty but dry, overcooked. The waiter was good but the bus-lady was rude and pushy. Very noisy impossible to have a conversation. I said I would recommend it but maybe for lunch.
Nice atmosphere. Good bar and seating. Was too hot to eat outside but looked nice there too.
Got 2 apps and 3 drinks and bill with tip was $100...ridiculous for what we got.
Service good, food very good, customers, why are people so loud?
Food was better than I remembered...will definitely be going back. Cozy.
I have been to Park West once before for brunch and I remember thinking then that it was good but not great. Went back for brunch a second time, and my experience was generally underwhelming. Brunch menu is limited, portions are small, cocktail prices are high and don't taste like they have alcohol in them. The food was basically flavorless and the presentation lacked any creativity whatsoever. I don't think I'll be going back.
Although the food is okay, the service was disappointing. After taking 3 bites of my salad I found a beetle in my salad. The waiter asked if we were finished and let him know what had happened. He responded with “oh i was wondering why your plate was still full” and then walked away with it. He did not offer me another salad or take the salad off the menu. Additionally, the vegetarian options are limited.
