Our sister restaurant, Wherewithall, is right down the street so feel free to walk over for a pre-dinner snack or a post-dinner drink!
What Insiders Are Saying
Exceptional and impressive. That's what comes to mind when describing the Korean-American food at Parachute.
Delicious food, nice ambiance, and excellent service. My only complaint would be that there are not enough vegetarian options on the menu. Great options for a pescetarian though
we just didn't like the food, especially for the bill
The restaurant’s food is incredible. We just struggle with the shared table seating especially when the meal will likely end up being over $100 a person. This, admittedly, is a personal preference, but we won’t be as excited to return for a special occasion knowing that it may be hard to have a conversation when the person you are eating with is seated a further distance from you across the table than the stranger to your left and right.
Off the cuff menu was a great choice. Great value as well
Absolutely amazing experience, as always. Such an attention to detail with every dish and their ability and kindness in remembering our dining preferences from previous visits. Warm and welcoming, thank you Chef Beverly!!
Some dishes were good and some were a miss. Not worth the $$.
The communal table is awkwardly wide so it’s hard to talk to the person you’ve come with. Some dishes were excellent, however some of the food pairings were awkward, bavette and anchovies? No thanks.
It was a wonderful experience. I will say though that I was much more ecstatic about the food 2 years ago... We had 6 dishes. 3 were amazing. The other 3 were good, but when I got the bill I did have to pause and think "was it really worth this type of money?"
The service was awesome and I loved the conversation and wine recommendations.
Thanks for a great night!
The food was amazing!
The restaurant boasts of a Michelin star but the food was below average. The waiter urged us to order at least 6 tapas style dishes between 2 people - we ordered 4 because we thought it would be enough. Thank god we went with our gut and not the suggestion because it was a lot of food - and bad food. To top it off, this place is expensive. Would not go back.
The quality/taste of the food was uneven. Some of the plates were great while some others were not very creative or uniquely tasteful. I was expecting more from this restaurant.
We made reservations online and coming from Toronto after long drive, we were hungry. We let the chef determine our meal which included four courses with surprise elements. Food was fantastic we enjoyed from beginning to end. Service was on point. My fiancé and I can’t wait to come back.
Food was interesting, not exceptional. The combinations like black beans with pasta original, but a little salty, not well balanced. The trout exceptionally skinny. Best were the peppers.
It was our first time here, but it won’t be the last. We ordered the off-the-cuff tasting menu & the paired wines. Dish after dish was creative & delicious. We particular like the pickles, tempura peppers, steak tartar, unagi-styled trout, & the dessert. We were a little early & started with cocktails. I got the #3 which again was creative & delicious. The staff was friendly, well-informed, & happy to answer questions.
always one of my favorite places for dinner. the value of the tasting menu is unbeatable, and the fact that our server knows what wine i had last time is incredible. All the fine details that go into the service are what make parachute special.
We were a disappointed with our last experience at Parachute. We ordered 6 dishes 2 of which were not good. 2 of us couldn't eat the shrimp. The sauce was totally bland and the head was filled with black liquid that tasted horrible. We would have mentioned it to the waitress but she started serving another part of the restaurant and never came back to our table which was confusing. We also tried the steak, which was tender and a good cut of meat but the sauce had no flavor and the grilled peppers with warm unsalted anchovies really took away from the dish. For the cost, I would not recommend when there 1/3 of our dishes were disappointing (one inedible) and the service was confusing so we didn't feel we had the opportunity to correct what we were disappointed with. The ambience is great and conceptually a great place but we had major complaints with our visit and were pretty disappointed.
Food was unique and tasty, service was fantastic, and the ambiance is outstanding. Highly recommend.
Parachute never disappoints! I had yet another amazing meal there! The tastes are unforgettable!
We did the tasting menu and wine pairing and everything was amazing! Highlights were the first course and the trout. The wines were really easy to enjoy. It was the perfect amount of food so that we left full but not painfully so. Service was excellent!
Great service! Accommodated graciously the dietary needs of my guests. Food was fabulous. Service was attentive but not suffocating. We’ll be back!
We LOVE Parachute. We come here as often as we can and love to sit at the bar, interacting with the staff, asking questions about our incredible food and the amazing combinations of flavors the chef brings to these creative dishes. The staff is invariably helpful, interactive (as much as we want to be), and very smart! You won't go wrong here. We missed chef Beverly this time (she is absolutely charming and lovely to talk with). She has a new baby, but we hear she often comes in, with baby, to in tow.
We can't wait to try this dynamic duo's new restaurant, Wherewithal, a few blocks away!
Creative, delicious food; friendly, knowledgeable staff; relaxed atmosphere (although seating was not particularly comfortable); was a 'wow' dinner for an important client.
Other than the noise level which at times made it difficult to have a conversation without shouting, everything--I mean EVERYTHING--was first class!
Awesome experience! Our second time at Parachute, and it did not disappoint.
This place is one of our favorite restaurants. We have had the opportunity to experience a couple different menus since it changes from time to time. The food is always a great experience! I really like the ambience of the space. I would highly recommend visiting for new and fun experience.
Great relaxed vibe with very creative menu. You feel like everything has been thought through from the table settings to the staff, the graphics, the wine list and, most of all, the food. They do not fall into the trap of going over the top or trying to hard. Some excellent self-editing. I don't really want to get into describing the individual dishes but would say trust the chef. Everyone will have their favorites but each dish is thought out, flavors balanced and refined. Try something different - be surprised. I only talk about the service when it fails or exceeds expectations. Again this is just dialed in so perfectly. Perfect balance of informality, warmth and the knowledge and patience to describe the one of a kind preparations.
Delicious, creative food. This was our second visit and did not disappoint. Kudos to Grace, the lovely and knowledgeable hostess. Get the bread. It’s to die for.
We have dined here on many occasions and continue to be amazed by the entire experience. Once entering, it is immediately evident that this is a very special place full of special culinary talent. Thank you to chef and the team for another amazing experience. We will be back!
Food was mostly excellent. Service was great. Restaurant is loud but not opressively.
Food great, but overpriced for what it is. Wine list limited because they only list all-natural wines. No chance to BYO, which seems restrictive given their insistence on expensive natural wines, which are unpredictable and not always good. Servers largely uninformed about wine list or digestives. Lots of running back to sommelier for advice. Actual sommelier never came to talk with us despite fact we ordered 3 bottles plus dessert pairings. Seems a little cold for these prices. And not up to par for other Michelin recognized joints. But dress code is pretty much shorts, so there's that. I guess. Fat Rice is in the neighborhood. Just saying.
The food was exceptional and Claire was exceptional at providing dish explanations and service.
delicious but overpriced, trying too hard to be different
Everything we ordered was impeccable! We almost went with the chefs menu but since it was our first time were recommended we order what we like... and it was divine! Though portions appear small they’re ample for two. I’d recommend pairing your courses with their sake selection, though the cocktails were tasty too
The menu is limited, but everything we had was fantastic!
We thoroughly enjoyed my birthday celebration in a quiet corner with creative, delicious courses presented by charming knowledgeable staff. Outstanding is the potato bread, tempura, thin tofu and every other dish including the matcha tiramisu. Can’t wait to return!
Food was very innovative, a bit on the salty side and beautifully presented It was difficult to enjoy my dinner as the noise escalated to the point that my guest and I were shouting at each other over the general din.
The price to food ration was lower than any restaurant we've been to in Chicago. Sadly, we spent $122 and then went down the street to get more food.
Food was fantastic and the service was better. The drinks are made with small batch spirits that you don't see elsewhere and they were outstanding. Overall it was really good but a little pricey.
Was very excited for this dinner, but unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype for me. I am hoping it is just their current menu offering, but I don't believe if I will be going back if I am paying for the meal again.
Amazing food and service! Already booked our next reservation. Not to be missed.
