Palm Court at the Carltun
Coupled with the Wine Spectator magazine's recognition of its wine list as one of the "...most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world," our diners have the best atmosphere conceivable for an extraordinary dining experience.
Very underwhelming. We ordered a special that was very expensive and not properly explained. It was clearly not for 2. Our appetizer had no taste. Steak was under cooked. Steak sauce was brought out after we were done eating. We were told we’d be getting lobster for two ot was one lobster tail that did not taste fresh. We had gotten married at the carltun and wanted to celebrate our anniversary but the food was not of quality we remembered it being. Really disappointed. Only plus was the atmosphere and live music.
It was a wonderful meal with great food, excellent service and a beautiful venue. A special meal to celebrate our anniversary.
Went for our 1 year wedding anniversary dinner, and was our first time eating here. Romantic setting with a great live band. Service was excellent, our waiter was attentive, kind and didn't rush us with ordering or finishing up. All of the food we ordered was delicious and a good portion size, and they even surprised us with a complimentary dessert. Definitely plan to come back for another special occasion!
We’ve been coming here for 20 years, and it’s always exceptional!
My family has been coming here for years, we absolutely love the brunch!
The whole experience was wonderful, we ordered off the Octoberfest special menu, the food was delicious and the portions were more than adequate. Our cocktails were perfectly made. The service was impeccable It’s nice to have wait staff who are knowledgeable, polite and courteous. We definitely will be coming back in the future.
I had been to the Palm Court before. so when my friends were having birthday's I suggested that we go to the Palm Court. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed that the hostess seated us (5) in the corner on the dark side of the room. Most of the tables were for four and many were set up for larger parties. I noticed that the tables at the window were empty so I asked her if we could move to the other side. After a bit she came back and said the tables were reserved so we sat in the corner....
Needless to say, nobody came in for those tables for the over 2 hours we were there.....very disappointing....my friends said they would not return....not nice...
Service was amazing.....food delish....
We had a very bad experience for the third time in a row with the waiter that served us.
The bus boys and the entertainment and food were excellent.
The last two times we went we found the waiter was very slow and serving us and very very slow and bringing us our check when we asked for it
On this dinner Our waiter Jose Y brought the wrong order for one of our party, he did not do anything to correct it. It ruined our entire evening.
Had we been even at an Applebee’s or Friday’s or almost any other restaurant the waiter would’ve taken the order back and brought the correct order. For a restaurant of this caliber to treat regular customers this way was extremely disappointing.
This is our second time there (on Saturday night). The food was not as good as the first time. The skin of the long Island duck was not crispy, we ordered medium lamb chop, it was a little over cooked, not juicy enough. The lamb chops during our first visit was excellent. We ordered surf and turf (with lamb chops), steak, sea bass, shrimp and risotto. Only the sea bass was above our expectation.
Delicious tender brisket with pomegranate sauce for dinner. Nice ambiance if you like a time warp from the 50s. Food is generally very good. Downside: There are usually catered affairs going on and they get priority so service in the restaurant can be sloooow.
Went there for the first time for a birthday dinner. Heard mixed reviews but decided to go anyway because always wanted to try it. The food and service were excellent. Our waiter was attentive but not pushy and allowed us to enjoy a leisurely meal. He was knowledgeable about gluten free, which was very much appreciated. The food exceed my expectations. It was definitely pricey, so probably only a special occasion place. Glad we went!
It was an outstanding experience!!! The Service was excellent with smiles and the food could not have tasted better and presented so nicely! And the Service was always with a smile!
had one of the last lobster / seafood fests of the season. sad to see the season end. the quality and variety of the various dishes is unsurpassed.
Food was very good !
Terrible experience! I’m still waiting to hear back from the restaurant manager who has yet to call me back after leaving messages. The amount of money you spend at the “ “ almost 5 star restaurant you’d think you’d get excellent service. Never again
Food n service and ambience good except their system didn’t link with open table and don’t see my reservation
( but before holiday it want busy )
The location is excellent and sure can enjoy a wonderful meal
The night we were at the Palm Court-they had what they called a Buffet Special which was served cocktail style (at your table) and consisted of appetizers and three different combos-fish, lobster and meat. It was excellent and at a great price!1 As usual with the Palm Court, the service was friendly and helpful, the cocktails were well made and the entire atmosphere was classy!!
sadly, it was the last night of the special summer lobster fests, which have been off the chart spectacular every week.
too bad they have to end them.
they also had a new guitar guy who is great also.
for evita fans, he played 'don't cry for me argentina' as good as patti lupone or antonio bandares.
truly a pride of east meadow !!!
Our dinner was just awesome!! Service was top notch and food was unbelievably good. I had a veal chop that I was able to cut with a butter knife. It was our wedding anniversary and they made it very special.
tapas dinner - super again-
but - the eggplant, kobe burger, oyster, cioppino, crab, and seafood salad were especially off the chart.
also- had a new waiter who was really good !!
I have been there many times -most of the time we really enjoyed the it
However this time I was not thrilled, we ordered the brunch
we got the fruit, wife ordered shrimp in citrus very good. I ordered the lettuce with blue cheese etc, did not like it, the main course Chicken good, salmon good, desert raspberry sorbet good
It was too much food and quite expensive
My friends and I lunched at the Palm Court. Both the hostess and waiters were very accommodating and courteous. The food was delicious and the portions were the perfect French size. I would return in a heartbeat! Great experience.
The experience was magnificent from the moment we walked in the door for a belated birthday celebration. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive and checked with the chef regarding the ingredients in the eggplant soup (which was exceptional!). The meal was presented beautifully and my dessert was plated with a lovely "Happy Birthday" done in a lovely chocolate script. The entree that my friend and I both selected was the chicken and shrimp with asparagus and avocado and tomato. Both the chicken and shrimp were grilled to perfection. The asparagus was cooked through, but retained enough crunch to provide a nice "bite." All in all, I had a fabulous meal and was able to celebrate my special day in style. I look forward to my next visit.
always good - but the waiter tried to rush us and the band was a bit too loud for the audience
We were seated outside which was where most of the people were. There seemed to be plenty of servers but yet it took forever to get our second round of drinks 23 minutes. My entree was to be a medium cooked filet migon. It came medium well I explained to the waitress it was over done to please get me one that was medium. I was then brought back my same steak now cooked to be well done. I therefore sent that one back. When I got a new steak it was less than rare. I believe it Mooed!! All this while the other persons dinner was getting cold waiting for me. It was ridiculous. I finally gave up and just ate a few bites at the very outside edges of the meat and I took the rest home. I opened up the container and took pictures of that steak, it looked fresh killed.
Horrible service and food. I will never eat there again.
The food was good the service was terrible , we ordered at 8:00 we didn’t finish till 10:00 with no dessert because it was so late . It also took forever to get drinks
It was my birthday lunch with my coworkers. We had a noon reservation and was originally going to sit outside but it was a bit humid so we decided to stay in. Changing tables from outside to inside was not an issue for the staff and they gladly obliged us with the change. The drinks were delicious, I had a Bloody Mary, it was spicy and tasty. My lunch partners and I all agreed that the appetizer and entree chosen were all very good. The noise level for the lunch hour was quiet. The service was prompt and unobtrusive. Dining at the Palm Court is a nice experience and would recommend to anyone who wanted a pretty setting and delicious food.
Our waitress Anna was amazing as was the entire dining experience. Food A++ music delightful beautiful setting. Will definitely return
Food was outstanding with a beautiful presentation. The live music was enjoyable
and a pleasant addition to dinner.
We arrived early for a 6PM reservation as they did not open until 6 PM. We waited outside until 6pm when the hostess came to seat us. We were the only ones there, she jammed us in the corner next to a music ensemble setting up, telling us all the other tables were reserved ahead of us. We went to leave she then seated us at a more appropriate table. The waiters were gathered around the bar with bartender and other waiters with the band ensemble. The singer of the band was loudly telling stories to the staff and shouting out four letter obscenities well within hearing distance of my wife and I. At about 6:15 some finally came to the table and took a drink order. At 6:30 we finally got our drinks. The food and rest of the service was fine. When we finished dinner around 7:40 I counted 5 open tables for two that were set but never seated. This used to be my favorite fine dining restaurant on par with the other major steak houses but I doubt I will go back and would not recommend it to others. Clearly they do not appreciate their customers.
Palm Court is a very nice, elegant, quiet pleasant place to have delicious meal. The ambiance is wonderful. Service is impeccable with an attentive wait staff. The Sommelier is outstanding and really knows his wines!
Food was excellent, took 35 minutes to receive our drink order and it was wrong, the table location was great, the waiter was a "ghost", but the food was outstanding.
always good -but- it seems silly for open table to ask about special requests but when you get there they have never been conveyed to the waiter or waitress and you have to scrimp and scrounge and beg to get them done.
somewhere there is a communications breakdown ??
had the special TAPAS dinner
Elegant dining, top-notch service, and beautiful decor at reasonable prices make this a perfect luncheon spot.
the friday lobster fest is spectacular.
7 of the seafoods were all 'off the chart'.
the other 5 were all 'very high' on the chart.
there was also a new steel drum guy playing. we love steel drums and he was definitely among 'the best of the best".
really great spot -and, by us- very close to home !!!
It never disappoints! My husband and I go every year for our anniversary since we had our wedding reception there in 2008. Love the food and service!
Birthday celebration . Staff was very attentive and went out of their way to accommodate all the different diet restrictions at the table. Brunch was a great value for the food we received .
steak was good, waiter was excellent, side dishes were fair.
