Palace Kitchen in Seattle, Washington is an upscale eatery that offers an open kitchen concept to allow guests to watch the chefs at work. Settle in for dinner at one of the booths with low, intimate lighting and enjoy fresh, seasonal food that is served late into the night. Diners at Palace Kitchen love the whole trout, chicken and burger that are grilled over the apple wood grill in house.
Great food! Service was good. It was super quiet when we first got there but got busy fast.
There's a good reason Tom Douglas is one of the most beloved restaurateurs in all of Seattle. His food and staff rock. My wife and I recently stopped by Canlis and the piano playing was the only thing good, our food was cold and drinks way overpriced. Tom has managed to create multiple restaurants each serving brilliantly prepared food, staff that friendly and attentive. I would and do recommend his restaurants to all of my out of town guests.
Love Palace Kitchen. Amazing food, staff and ambiance. Been going here for 14 years and still amazing.
I definitely recommend Palace Kitchen to anyone looking for great food and great service. We went here to make the perfect date night before we caught a play later that evening.
Waiter was knowledgeable about gluten free options. Very popular place so noise level was high.
A coworker recommended that I check out one of Tom Douglas’s restaurants while I was in town, and it did not disappoint! Service was on point - attentive without hovering, never letting wine glasses end up empty, and made excellent recommendations! The gnudi and fire roasted Manila clams were both unreal, and definitely check out their selection of farm direct cheeses!
Great food just like Lola’s a little better. PK has a little more of casual atmosphere.
Great food choices, great service, but rather loud and hard to hear conversations when groups are larger than 4.
Always a favorite place to come when we're in town for something special!
A Tom Douglas staple we hadn't been to in years. Still a fantastic place to go. Tempura asparagus was AMAZING, goat cheese fondue is still delightful. Staff wonderful, but the noise was distracting. Not many spots in Seattle where noise isn't an issue. We had a lovely time and look forward to going back.
We had not been back to Palace Kitchem for many years. We decided to get things we would not be likely to try. The cold calamari in pea soup is divine !
Amazing food, service, and ambiance as always.
My wife and I found the service and dinner excellent in all respects!!
Delicious food, great service, definitely a loud atmosphere on a Saturday night but we didn’t mind. We will definitely go again.
Lovely evening meal - wait staff and servers knowledgeable and helpful, Tasty appetizers and delicious meals. All in a cozy yet open-feeling ambiance. Cheers!

Great food and great service. I will be back to try other items on the menu.
It was excellent. First time to the Palace Kitchen. will come back. Will try the seafood focused restaurant in the group. Very good food.
The banana cream pie is to die for, but everything else is sublime and the service is great. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle!
For us it was a bit to noisy for a nice dinner out.
Everything was fine except we were seated next to three very loud men having a business dinner or seeming to discuss their Amazon project way too loudly. It was unfortunate since the restaurant was not full, but service was fine.
Everything was good, however pricing for the amount of food was too high. The calamari appetizer seemed like we were missing half a plate of food.
I loved the music playlist!
So grateful to the staff at Palace Kitchen for making our kids evening so special following senior prom. Not only did staff make room for our kids when they showed up early, staff treated our kids as special guests, even providing a special treat for the table. Everyone LOVED their time there. Thanks for helping to make the night extra memorable! You have patrons for life now!!
Wow, thank you so much for the awesome feedback! We so appreciate having the opportunity to be a part of such a special celebration, and we look forward to serving them in the future!! Andrea E Guest Relations, TDR
Would we recommend Palace Kitchen to a friend? We already have! The food was so delicious, not fancy or fussy, comfort food really, deftly elevated. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the street scene from our table by the window...we’ll definitely be back.
Palace Kitchen is wonderful! My sister and I went here twice on a recent trip to Seattle because it was so enjoyable. For dinner, we had the mussels (DELICIOUS) and the whole Idaho trout. Both were fantastic, but the mussels were life changing. The ambiance is perfect and our server was courteous, knowledgeable about the food, and let us take our time and enjoy. She actually told us about the late night chicken and waffles that are only available after 10pm (they serve until 1am). So, a couple nights later, we came back at 10 and had the chicken and waffles. People! Go.Have.The.Chicken.And.Waffles. It is absolutely worth all the hype.
The menu is excellent! I had two small plates and my husband had a main dish. The portions were perfect. I also enjoyed my glass of rose. He rose pour was generous and carried me through the meal. I think this is my favorite Tom Douglas restaurant.
We hadn’t been to a Tom Douglas restaurant in a couple of years, and are so glad we went to the good old Palace Kitchen instead of trying some place new. The meal was incredible, service was efficient and personable, and the atmosphere was action-packed and fun. My one problem with the PK has always been the noise level, even before I hit middle age! But overall a wonderful Seattle dining experience, and that coconut cream pie is still my all time favorite dessert.
Our server Emily was wonderful and the food was delicious!
Made a reservation here at 5:30 on a Tuesday before going to a show at the crocodile. Really didn't need a reservation since there were only about two other parties dining at that time. Was seated by the window, room was bright, and had a real tea candle in the center for ambiance. Looked a little dark near the bar area. Bathroom was clean and has a lovely set up with a full length mirror in the handicap stall.
Beverages: Rainier can but served with a glass, always a bit classier. Marionberry Cider x2 was tasty.
Starter: Lavender Goat-Cheese Fondue served with apple slices and toasted bread bites. Excellent! 10/10 would recommend.
Entree: NY Strip steak, perfectly cooked. Not much of a side dish with the limp greens. Chicken Breast with garlic mashed potato and greens with rhubarb and mustard. Didn't care for the rhubarb/mustard garnish but was easily removed. Overall average dish.
Dessert: Rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream, mall portion to split but it was good. Hazelnut donut holes were average at best and expensive in my opinion. $12 for 3 bites.
Overall it was a nice dinner but fairly pricey. Good atmosphere for a date you want to impress or a special occasion. I might come back just for the goat cheese fondue and a cocktail.
I ordered the trout, but it was dry and over cooked. The fish was small and not worth almost $30!. The veggies that came with it were some sort of greens, maybe collard greens and they were unappetizing The greens were put in a small bowl along with the mash potatoes. The mash potatoes were good, but were inundated with the collard juices (which I did not like), so the potatoes were contaminated.
My family loves this restaurant and it is one of our go to spots when in Seattle. Normally we're in a booth to the right when you walk in or a table in the main section to the left and this time they put us in a bit of a back room to the left (when you're facing the bar as you walk in). This would have been ok (not the best ambiance for Mother's Day), but there were some very loud groups around us that made it really hard to hear or talk. The food was great as always as was the service.
I took my granddaughter after we attended a play. Pay public parking was conveniently just across the street. We were warmly welcomed and seated (before reservation time) at a great window table. Staff treated my granddaughter with respect and care. Having the offering of several non-alcoholic beverages was such a plus. She loved the Brussels Sprouts and wings from the app menu. We shared an entree and they brought it to the table already divided on two plates. The food was excellent as usual and she has eagerly agreed to go there again when we travel to Seattle. After we got home, I pulled out a Tom Douglas cookbook for her to choose something for me to prepare for her next week. In the cookbook, she found a picture of the restaurant at the exact table where we were seated. It was a wonderful experience for the two of us. And the chocolate salted caramel ice cream for dessert, had an absolutely glorious taste and mouth feel.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review of Palace Kitchen! I'm so pleased both you and your granddaughter enjoyed the experience, and we hope to serve you both again in the future :) Andrea E Guest Relations, TDR
Emily is one of the best servers on the planet.

Our first time to Palace Kitchen left us with a very good impression. The host seated us right away even though we were nearly 15 minutes early. He asked what our timeline was to make sure we could leave when we needed to. We hadn’t even told him that we had tickets for a performance at Jazz Alley (right next door, so convenient for us). Our server was warm & suggested an appetizer that we both loved & will order again! Drinks came surprising fast..especially for a busy Saturday night, as did the appetizer & entree’s.
We ordered the burger & the halibut, both were delicious. Loved the fries (thin & crispy) with aioli. Serving size was just right. The only thing I would change is the lighting. It’s dark & you can’t read the menu without your phone flashlight. The couple across from us were using there’s too & not keeping the light to themselves I must say. The host attended to us just as well when we left as when we arrived, to make sure all was well. We loved Palace Kitchen & will be back soon! (I rarely leave reviews, this place deserved it!)

Delicious food. Interior is a bit cramped and noisy.
While our server was vert competent, pleasant, and nice, service of courses was excessively slow.
The pig ear poutine was excellent! And the staff was very attentive.
