   Our recent dinner at Osteria made us realize that we have been neglecting a true neighborhood gem. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and described the many specials available beyond the regular menu. We were both very pleased with his suggestions for entrees and wine pairings. Our orders arrive promptly, and our waiter kept checking back to see if we needed anything else. Although traveling outside the country has been restricted over the past two years, you can visit Osteria for an authentic taste of Italy right here in Greensboro. And be sure to save room for dessert.

   Dinner for two. Beef Carpaccio excellent, my Wild Salmon Pappardelle was a bit too salty, but otherwise good. My friend's Bronzino was excellent. Paul's service excellent.

   Enjoyable dinner, everything was good, no complaints. If I could change anything if would be that I wasn't so close to the couples next to me that I could hear more of what they were saying than my own husband.

   The food and service are excellent. However, I ordered the shrimp scampi and it came with four small shrimp. The rest was pasta. The plate was $15, which is too much for mostly pasta. The restaurant had flies and mosquitos.

   I love the chef salad for lunch, but this time, it was much smaller than what has been served in the past. Much less lettuce. I was disappointed. Guess it's the recession.

    I had the pleasure of dining here twice in 8 days. On each occasion the quality of the food and service was magnificent. I recommend this restaurant highly. As it is relatively small and popular, you'll need to reserve a table at least several days in advance.

    We went early as we had a show to get to at 7:30. We had not been to Osteria for many years and we were glad we went back. Great food, friendly people and we had a whole evening before we even went to our show! Highly recommend.

    This was our first visit to Osteria. We thouroughly enjoyed the food. Three of us had pasta and one of us had steak. It was all outstanding. We will definitely return!

    We arrive later than expected —They were accommodating and sat us right before the kitchen closed. Service was warm and friendly. No one made you feel rushed and food was delicious. Happy to have eaten there while visiting the Greensboro area. One restaurant not to miss.

    This was our first and will be our last dinner at Osteria. We went there because an Elon family recommended it and the Open Table reviews. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review but this was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. The only positives I can say are that we were seated promptly and our drinks arrived timely. It was all downhill from there. Our panzanella salad was terrible. No other word. Soggy and not panzanella by a long shot. Then we waited 45-50 min for our entrees to arrive. Meanwhile, every table that arrived after us received their meals while we sat there. The aggravation just continued to build. We kept asking what was going on, and our waiter didn’t have an answer. the manager or owner kept passing our table without even making eye contact. He didn’t apologize or explain once. So disappointing and poor client relations. The worst part of the meal was my entree. I made 2 mistakes; First asking for the Dover sole special and second was not asking the price - never in my wildest dreams could I imagine a small portion of Dover sole having 8 bones that I kept finding as I chewed - which is actually dangerous - a customer could choke. I’ve been eating Dover sole my whole life - I’ve never had bones in it. We told the waiter. His answer was there were bones in the tail. I responded it wasn’t the tail - it was the fillet. Honestly inexcusable. No apology. I think he just didn’t care. We did order dessert, but it would have been classy if given the unusually long wait for food and bone-laden sole, the restaurant had offered a dessert. And as disappointing as all that was, the biggest shock came when the bill came - $50+ for that Dover sole special (1/2 the fish too) - I mean a NY price for a subprime dish. And don’t expect good customer service if your dissatisfied in any way with any aspect of the meal. You will be sorely disappointed. Felt like we flushed $200 down the toilet. Never again.

    Excellent food and service, as always. But…the price on the special Dover Sole was very high and an unexpected surprise on the bill. It might have been nice for the waiter to mention that it was $57.00 in advance, since it is priced so much higher than anything else on or off the menu. Not a big deal, but.

    This has been the 5th or 6th time we’ve been to Osteria for business. Last night we took a client here for dinner after a long day at HP Furniture Market. We had an 8pm reservation. Our waiter was very curt and rude and kept lurking around our table making it very uncomfortable to have a conversation and eat. While I was eating my appetizer he came up and asked if I wanted it boxed. Heh? Then as soon as he took it away our dinners were brought out (obviously rushing us through). WHILE we were eating dinner…not even half way through our meal he brings a dessert menu and says the kitchen is closing in 10 minutes! Are you KIDDING me???? DONT take an 8pm reservation if you can’t allow your guests to eat their meal at a regular pace! This is complete BS!!! Embarrassing for us in front of a client, and incredibly UNACCEPTABLE at a restaurant on a Friday night! Will NEVER come back!

    We sampled veal, seafood diavolo with pasta nera and pappardelle with salmon. All excellent. Always impeccable service. Complimenti to Paul. Outstanding wine list. We had a nice bottle of Barbaresco. Yummy desserts as well. They are totally back on their game post pandemic.

    Had a good waiter, food was absolutely excellent. A little crowded but would definitely recommend for a nice dinner. Not a good place for an intimate date night though, more just a fun fancy outing.
