Osteria da Nino is always great. We chose this place to be our “COVID Coming Out” restaurant because we knew we could rely on them being careful. We were lucky to sit on the patio, the service was great, the food delicious and we had a wonderful time. Hoping that things return to normal soon so that we can continue to enjoy this wonderful little neighborhood restaurant.
Always a wonderful meal. Ask Nino for a wine recommendation.
If you want Italian, and the EU embargo keeps you from Europe, why not try Osteria da Nino. You could go to one of the restaurants downtown—there are several excellent Italian restaurants there—but you’ll likely spend more money, and hassle with parking.

Superb Italian food! Superior service! Fantastic Covid-19 precautions .... . In short: Highly recommended!!
PS - Best Italian wines in town!
Olive fritte and a salmon rissotto. Both very good. Accompanied by a friendly chat with Nino.
We are so glad Osteria da Nino is back open. The food was superb and everyone made sure we were safe. Nino is the perfect host and we decided to have our 25th wedding anniversary party there.
Best Italian in Metro DC. Authentic and delicious. Make your reservation today!
Our first visit was exceptional. The staff are very attenttive and made us feel welcome.
The house made pasta is great, and all the food was solid.
Loved the blackened salmon with avocado salad special. Friend eagerly devoured the pork chop. Waitstaff wore masks and tables were spaced far apart. Very friendly service.
We ate at an outdoor table which accounts for the quiet noise rating. Love the Aperol Spritzer. Great Eggplant app too. Beat salad just so so.
During this very difficult time I was very impressed with the sanitary steps they took to make us feel we were safe in their restaurant.
The entire experience had personal touches from Nino, his family, and his staff, who seem like his extended family. Outstanding!
The food and service were outstanding. The ambiance was also perfect.
Food was okay. Service was good at first, but when we asked for the check, we waited for 30 minutes. No check. One of us had to chase down waitress to get check. I would not go back
loved the Frutti Di Mare with the squid ink homemade pasta!!
We enjoyed our evening and food! The only issue was that as the restaurant became more crowded, the service fell off- we wanted to order coffee and dessert but after 10-15 minutes gave up just got our check. I think another server is needed, because ours was good just became too busy.
Osteria da Nino is a hidden gem. The service is friendly and efficient, and the owner Nino is a great host. The food is excellent -- their squid ink pastas are the best I've ever had in the DC area (highly recommend the regular seafood dish on the menu, but sometimes they have specials made with it also). They have a good wine list with several Italian varietals and appellations that are not easy to find locally, and Nino is very knowledgeable about wine (and appreciative of others who demonstrate an interest in Italian wine). They also have great happy hour oyster specials!
Delicious and authentic Italian food! Homemade pasta, tender veal, freshly filled cannoli with crisp shells.
Prices are a little high for what you get, but it tastes great!
We really enjoyed our meal at Osteria da Nino despite several missteps. We had passed by this place a 100, but always had out go-to place for Italian. One the 101th, we decided to give it a try and are glad we did. They were busy on our visit, but it was almost 15 mins before someone took our drink order after we sat down and then another 15 mins or so to take our appetizer & meal order. Once it emptied out a little the service got much better and was very pleasant. The calamari app and my cavietelli pasta w/lamb ragu were fantastistic, however my wife's veal was overdone and very dry. But the sauce and side that came with it were great and almost saved the dish. Overall we will absolutly try it again as the prices were reasonable and there were a lot of choices on the menu that we wanted to try
The food was delicious and fairly priced. The service was so-so. Glad we weren’t in a rush because it took a while to order etc. On the flip side, definitely didn’t feel like we were being rushed out and we enjoyed a longer dinner.
Everything great, but service can be slow. Seems like there is lots of turnover of wait staff.
ODN was delightful as always. The best service and hospitality in town!!!
The perfect place for a girls evening to catch up. Delicious food in a quiet space so we could actually hear each other. The pace was great, allowing us time to visit and serving great pasta and seafood.
We'll be back.
The home made fettuccini looked like Asian noodles. The salmon was very dry even though I asked for medium rare.
Salad was swimming in dressing. I would not come back.
