Osteria Cucina Rustica
We begin with the freshest ingredients of the highest quality all prepared to order using family recipes passed down from generation to generation. The astronomic experience begins with the hospitality from the moment you walk through the iron forged doors. Next is the food where the love is present in each dish. The house made pasta to the freshest seafood to the dry aged steaks and our unique deserts made daily by our pastry chef make our uniqueness discernible.
The Bongiovanni and Botta families welcome you to Osteria, where we promise that you will come as a guest and leave as family.
Our food was great Sat night but the service was slow. We sat outside and it didn't appear to have more than 2 servers with several helpers cleaning tables. The music was piped outside and pretty loud. We went there to have a quiet romantic dinner but the music took over.
Over priced. Service was very poor, didn't even deserve the 1 star. Noise level was unbearable . Would not recommend .
Love this place!! Absolutely love the oyster appetizer! Great service great food!!!
I go there about once a week and it is always awesome
Service = great
This is the closest you can come to italy outside of italy
Great food and drinks
Nothing special. Restaurant was under renovation so no ambience. Food was just OK. Not bad for a family night out, but not for a special occasion.
Always a great meal and service. Patio dining outside on a beautiful day was splendid! Thanks again for always making us feel special.
Excellent food and service. A little on the price side, especially the appetizers but overall a nice place to eat for special occasions.
We were celebrating our anniversary and asked for a quiet table. The table was quiet--for about 10 minutes. Then two large parties were seated next to us--balloons and all. My wife and I could barely hear each other.
We hardly had time to look at the menu when the waiter arrived asking for our order. Our appetizers arrived before our drinks. We would like to have relaxed awhile with our drinks first.
We were halfway through our salad when dinner arrived. Since there was no room on the table, they returned our food to the kitchen to keep warm. Immediately after after we finished the salad, they returned with dinner. Dinner was hot but my wife's shrimp was slightly overcooked--probably from being kept warm. My chicken parmigiana was delicious.
We felt the waiter should have filled our water glasses without our having to ask for additional water. We had to ask on three separate occasions.
We were very rushed throughout dinner. In other restaurants, there is usually quite a bit of time between courses but not here. We felt that were were being rushed.
We were in and out of the restaurant in less than an hour. When I spend $130 plus on dinner, I expect my stay to be 2 hours. The food was very good but we really do not want to have to eat that fast. we will not be returning.
Excellent meal each and every time we go there, this place never disappoints
Food and service was very good. Acoustics are poor. Very loud. Nothing to absorb sound. For the prices I was surprised that it was more of a family style place with many kids. Thought it would be more of a quiet, upscale setting.
Everything was good but I felt it was very overpriced.
Great menu great service, the food is always on point!!
We all had the specials of the night which were excellent - bronzino stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat. However, the noise level was very high and it was difficult to have a conversation. That put a damper on the night.
- very over priced
(Be careful of the 'specials' .. they tend t be double the menu prices and the waiter does not tell you the cost.
- place is very loud
- typical average Italian food (nothing special) but the place charges high end restaurant process.
Had a great time took a party of 11 there great service, great food, noise level a little high but Ill be going back great restaurant.
Very noisy restaurant- a little too pretentious. Over priced ok food, salty marinara. Service was too attentive if such a thing where they tried to take away the food before you were done, even swiping silverware while eating. Won’t be back
What a wonderful dining experience we had a Osteria on Wednesday. Shared the meatball and meat and cheese platter for an appetizer, they were great. For our main courses we had one of the wonderful Rib- eye steaks that was cooked perfectly, the veal milanese that is always delicious, and the spaghetti special with shrimp and lobster. They were all wonderful. Great quality and large portions. We had a cheesecake, warm chocolate cake and pignoli ice cream sandwiches with homemade gelato. Our server was phenomenal. A great place for a special occasion or everyday dining. Nothing like it in the area
I was on a date; and while I appreciate service, the waiter was all over us. And we had trouble understand him between his accent (our issue) and the background noise (the restaurant's problem).
The food was good, but not extraordinary; and I've spent less in NYC for a meal. for the prices charged I expected extraordinary.
I went to Osteria Cucina Rustica with my husband and daughter. We ordered the chopped salad and meatballs as appetizers and both were delicious. I had the veal milanese with arugula salad which was very tasty. My daughter had the pacheri with meat sauce, also excellent and my husband had the chicken which he highly enjoyed. The cannoli dessert was great. The cannoli shell was crisp and the filling scrumptious!
Food was amazing, our waiter Mike was great, everyone was! Will definitely be back.
Fantastic food, fantastic service! I would highly recommend it to anyone. Portions were very generous and the quality was excellent. The owner stopped by our table is make sure everything was OK.
This is one of our favorite restaurants without a doubt.
Osteria is a gorgeous restaurant but, there are some downfalls. 1. It was extremely noisy on a Monday night. 2. My fiancé & I kept getting some weird looks from the waiters that made me feel uncomfortable. On top of that other tables seemed to be checked on more frequently then we were. 3. The food is way overpriced.
We will not be returning.
I am a repeat customer. The staff is attentive and helpful with menu questions and needs. If you like fish you have to try the Bronzino it’s the best I ever had. Every dish I have tasted was delicious
Food was excellent as usual. Our service was superb thanks to our favorite server Julio!
Outstanding food and service. We had a phenomenally good meal at Osteria. We shared the broccoli de rabbe with pinwheel sausage that was outstanding. For our mains we had the prime rib special, and received the end cut as ordered, a great cut of prime. Also had the double cut veal chop milinese that was probably the best veal chop I ever had. It was not only huge but delicious, I had enough for a second meal. The pignoli ice cream sandwiches were a great ending to a wonderful dining experience
, I will be back soon.
As always - great food and service. Doug was excellent and his dinner suggestions/descriptions were great. If you could only figure out a way to deaden the sound as it bounces off the concrete walls and ceilings it would be a bit more mellow.
Best Italian cuisine in NJ. Expensive but worth every penny.
We really enjoyed our dinner. There was three of us. My husband enjoyed the pork chop w peppers. I enjoyed the salmon.
The steak was horrible, over cooked and dry. Apps we good.
I thought they had more food choices but everything was good.
Excellent food and service in a "to be seen" fun and gargarus environment. Grilled octopus was perfectly cooked and interplayed well with sause, mashed potato was a nice compliment. Carpaccio was refreshing in taste and style foregoing the traditional capers for a delicate onion and seasoning. Double cut veal chop was a beautiful dish, meat quality and cooking temp were perfection, flavorful and juicy. Filet was equally impressive and savory.
Server was really outstanding in knowledge, attention to detail, and service.
This is a great place for foodies to go who want a deeply satisfying meal at a good value in a lively environment. It is no wonder that they are expanding.
Always great service and food is good as well. Always have leftovers too for the next night! Does not seem like it’s a restaurant in a parking lot like a Friday’s!
Mike our waiter was fantastic! Helpful, great suggestions and extremely polite and courteous! Made the dinner all the more special!
Good for romance. Food is always delicious. Good price for portions. Great bar drinks.
Loved the food and our wait staff was so attentive and helpful!
Food was very good but my waiter was extremely rude
Very good food, Burt our waiter was excellent personable quick attentive. Restaurant is very nice and cozy, but the noise level is a little too much
We love osteria, the service is always incredible and matches the quality and taste of the food. If you haven’t been Sunday’s you have to go, Sunday Sauce is not to be missed!
The food is always good and this time around 3 people ordered the Sunday gravy special. They all loved it. I ordered a special and it was good, but for the price, it should have had more pieces of lobster. This place has so many items on the special menu that they really should consider printing them out. No one wants to keep asking the waiter to repeat them and by the time they are done you’ve forgotten half of them! Also, the bus boys need to be more alert. Our waiter had to clear our table even though the bus boys walked by multiple times.
