This was our second visit to On20 and again we were extremely happy with the food and level of service.
Food just OK; overall not up to usual standards. Steak was cooked perfectly, but served practically cold. Service ragged—twice we were brought dishes for other tables. They really need a reset.
Excellent gourmet food and excellent service. The view is beautiful complimenting the whole experience.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The food and service were excellent!!!
This is my new favorite place. Great service and great food.
I absolutely would recommend this restaurant to a friend or family member. It was my birthday and my date suggested that we dine there. We had an amazing time. The food was unique to my previous dining experiences, so I didn't know what to expect. The food (starter/main course/dessert/champagne), live music, view, and visit from the chef were all very memorable. I left with all smiles!
It was s great night out. Staff is very attentive and helpful. Food was out of this world ( did the chefs pairing menu). Cant wait to go back!!
We have long considered ON20 to be the best dining experience in Greater Hartford. Not so on Saturday night. The hosts seemed a little hyper, as did our waiter. Worst of all -- we were there (and they knew this) to celebrate my husband's birthday -- and had requested one of our favorite tables overlooking the river. My husband ordered the quail which arrived seriously undercooked. He asked our waiter to have it cooked more. Meanwhile, our friends and I had our dinners in front of us. We waited a few minutes, but when it seemed that my husband's entrée was not going to arrive anytime soon, we ate. It was close to 15 minutes before my husband's cooked entrée was served. By then, the rest of us had finished eating.
All in all, this made for a most disappointing evening [except for the lovely live piano-bass combo] - and further, the restaurant offered us nothing to compensate. The bill for just my husband and me alone was $266. We don't mind paying that kind of money when the dining experience has been top flight. This was anything but. I don't think any of this would have transpired when Jeff Lizotte was executive chef.
On20 was delicious and so accommodating with my dairy allergy. I told them once that I needed everything to be dairy free when I made the reservation with the host. When I got there they had already picked out the items I could have from the menu. And let me select from 3 options for the appetizer and meal. I loved the atmosphere. I mean really what you’re paying for is the gastronomic experience. The portions were like a Michelin star restaurant, super super tiny. The food was excellent but unfortunately I had to eat some bread to feel full when I left. Everything was displayed like a piece of art. The wait staff were incredible. But again, the portions were so tiny. Our bill was $450. For $450 I should not be leaving hungry. If I’m paying that much, I need to leave feeling full.
Wonderful and romantic place to take your significant other.
A truly delicious meal. Most of the time tasting menus include very small plates, but these were big and we were stuffed by the end. Everything was prepared perfectly, and everything was delicious. And the wine pairing was spectacular.
Beautiful place for lunch. It was very quiet because we were the only ones there. Not sure how it would be with others. We had a great lunch but the menu is very limited. Overall it was a very good time
Amazing view, even better food, would definitely would go back
Perfect! Delectable dinner. Superb service. And outstanding views. We shall return! Thank you!
Outstanding food, beautiful views and very pleasant ambience. Would recommend for any occasion!
ON20 was more than I expected. The service was spot on. Little did I know they were in on my engagement surprise!! The food was delicious and presented beautifully!
Just loved it! We had a table at a window which had beautiful views of the Connecticut River and Hartford. We decided to have the Chef Tasting Menu which was probably the most we have ever spent on a dinner. Was it worth it - absolutely! There were 11 courses - each one was terrific! It took about three hours and I tried foods I would have never regularly tried. I have been raving about it ever since! How have I not been here before? Highly recommend!
This was my boyfriend’s first time at ON20 and he is original from Pittsburgh so the atmosphere and food was just the right thing to celebrate his birthday.
Jesse was amazing as always!
We went with chef's pairings of 9 courses and beverage pairings. Excellent tasting food, beautifully presented.
Excellent place, food and service
We always have an absolutely splendid time here for dinner. The service is exceptional and the staff is amazingly attentive and polite this will be our Fifth experience and it certainly wont be our last. Highly recommend if your in the Hartford area or even if you want to take a special trip.
Excellent but pricey. Would recommend to anyone as long as they have the expectations of paying.
Beautiful view, great food, and exceptional service. Thanks for a great anniversary celebration!
Service was excellent and food superb.
The manager was very friendly and helpful. He even let us check out the view from the other dining areas.
We went on a Friday and bottles of wine were 1/2 price, an added bonus to a great dinner.
Amazing views of course. Delicious food in nice, small portions. Excellent service. A wonderful place for a special evening!
Always outstanding dining, Cindy is fantastic, and we'll miss Michael
Loved everything about it. Impeccable atmosphere, service and food!! Our compliments to the chef! Will defiantly be returning.
The service and the quality of the food were absolutely outstanding. Truly a Hartford “hidden gem”.
Dramatic setting, exceptional views, elegant gourmet food, and excellent service.
Dining 20 floors above the city of Hartford with a lovely view of the Connecticut River below as the lights of the city turn on is reason enough to dine here. Our server Marie was friendly & helpful. The food is delicious and prepared with care. We dined during the Taste of Hartford week and will certainly dine here again.
The Hartford Restaurant special was a good way of trying different places and our experience at On20 the best !
Beautiful view-wonderful service-food was quite good although serving sizes were very meager.
Visiting from out of town and had a free night before planned activities started.
This place looked interesting and was near our hotel.
The young lady hostess was a treasure. So sweet and friendly. The wait staff was pleasant and adept.
The “restaurant week” tasting menu was delicious. It was a lovely meal, elegant, yet relaxing.
The service was pathetic for a fine dining standard, 1 guy ran all around served at all the tables, no one asked if food came out good, in fact in 1.5 hours we were only served drinks, starter and main then were asked to wait until after fireworks, which was to start in 20 min. Rudest of all, someone called prior to our arrival to say we will have to leave by certain time as they are fully booked for fireworks and then later their service was so poor we ended up watching fireworks from there. They didn’t even give us a window seat, there were 2 vacant up until 20 min prior to fireworks. If they are charging everyone equally then why not give seats on first come basis. Overall I went there to celebrate my hubby bday but server was not courteous to even wish him happy bday after knowing. Forget about expecting a good dessert. Most fine dine restaurants the experience is different and they make you feel special. They had nothing to offer. They charged us 20% gratuity for a party of 2 for this pathetic service, also nowhere stated or told. Although Food was good, some art work there but their menu is very limited and portions are very small. They served us a regular menu where starter and main dish was $11 each but they charged us $75 at the end. Our server didn’t say anything regarding that at the start. Also included was a dessert buffet for which we had to wait almost an hour as fireworks was starting in 20 min and we had to self serve after that, who self serves in fine dining restaurant. The point is you can keep whatever price in the restaurant but your menu and service should be up to that level.
What a superb experience! Certainly the best fine dining spot in the Hartford area, combined with excellent service and unparalleled views of the Hartford skyline and the Connecticut River. It's a destination worthy of not only special occasions, but lunch, dinner, and even happy hour!
