We ordered a whole fish, ~$60. Server said the fish was under done, sent it back. They threw it in the oven and then it was completely overdone! What a waste!
The food is SOOOO delicious here. Truly a Greek Restaurant. Every dish was superb! Zuchinni Fritters, Greek Salad, Octopus... the lamb (oh my!)…. and amazing Greek Wine! It was truly an experience! Owners are very involved and great. Bar tender was great as well. Our waiter was new and didn't seem to know the food or wine list very well... but overall it was an amazing meal and environment. I'll always come back.
Loved the chickpea pork dish w orange and star anise!!
Friendliest and most organized, efficient service. From the host to the expediters, it was as though they were all members of the same family, genuinely wanting happy customers. Felt great.
The place came highly recommended, as I am a lover of Greek kitchen. I was excited for this meal, as it had been ages since I’d been to a good, Greek place.
The food, though, was a let down. As I gleefully dug in to each dish...
The taramosalata was intensely salty, and the pita was more pita chip than pita bread; zucchini fritters were excellent, as was the Greek salad... the octopus, though, was virtually tasteless and incompletely cooked (and personally, I’d prefer to cut my own octopus, rather than have it pre-sliced for me; it stays hotter IMHO. But that’s a matter of style, really.).
But the braised ribs tasted more like roast beef. And the snapper - after being decimated by the boning technique of the (very sweet) expeditor - was dry and mealy. I don’t know whether that was about freshness or over-cooking; but it was such a disappointment at $40 (or any price), that I didn’t eat it. (And wasn’t charged, btw.)
I hate rejecting or sending back food. I hate it. That being said, the waiter was cool...even going so far as to chat about what may have caused the fish to turn out that way.
Great atmosphere and clearly a popular place. I could just have hit it on a bad night. Were I local, I might give it another try...
Outstanding food and service, highly recommended, great menu
In Omega Ouzeri, I have finally found a Greek restaurant that compares to the tavernas and ouzeries of Greece. Amazingly good and authentic mezzes, great selection of tsipouro, and ktpodi sti skara that made me swoon in grinning reverie. Bravo sas, adelphoi!
Love, love, LOVE, Omega Ouzeri! Went to Greece last year, discovered this place after. Thomas is authentic, and just like the wonderful people who inspired me to visit again, 6 months after my first visit. The food is the real deal. The staff are engaged and passionate. I do end up spending a bit, but it really is worth it. All fresh and fabulous. Local and imported ingredients, to make authentic Greek or local with a Greek spin!
I love the food, staff and ambience.
Hands down one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle!
Overall, the ambience was awesome and the food was very tasty. The service was a little slow, but they could have been trying to give the Greek experience. There were enough servers though for them to be more attentive with the experience. The portions for the price were also a little on the small side, so better for smaller parties. All-in-all would definitely go back!
Excellent meal! We are Greek and it had a lot to live up to. The keftethakia (meatballs) were absolutely delicious. I had chicken gyro, which was excellent and quite filling. My husband and son had beef short ribs with orzo. The meat was very tender and they both cleaned their plates. The rice pudding with melomacarona cookies were delicious as well. Wonderful experience, light and airy decor and attentive staff. We got to meet the owner, as well, when he stopped by to say hello. We will definitely return!
My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We chose Omega Ouzeri as it is in the neighborhood and as we are both of Greek ancestry. It was a balmy evening, the restaurant was open to the outside, and it was absolutely delightful.
All the entrees except for the fish-of-the-day were fair. The lamb tasted more like mutton with an overpowering sauce. The gyro looked like two tacos. Only the fish was superb.
The server was knowledgeable and efficient. He could certainly bone a fish.
We had a fantastic meal and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend.
Love the restaurant, ambience, staff... and definitely the food.
Wonderful food, great service. The sea bass, butter beans, and goat cheese dishes were a hit. Even the James was lovely. This is the place we enjoy bringing friends for great food with a casual atmosphere.
Food was delicious, fish a bit expensive. Service was excellent, quality top notch.
Fava bean hummus, fried calamari, greek salad ,sea bass . All were outstanding
Very good experience
Fantastic dinner, every single dish.
One of the best meals that I have had in Seattle. The menu was great and the service was very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will be going there any time I am in Seattle.
Best Greek cuisine in Seattle! Inventive, simple, great ingredients, authentic, super tasty. Delicious Greek wines.
Can’t wait to go back and try what we didn’t order! Fantastic
A smart, cool restaurant serving great Greek food with a clever use of flavours to bring out the best in all the dishes. Service was fantastic.
Wonderful dinner for German relative's birthday. Love this place!
If you have never tried Greek cuisine this is the place. They were very helpful in suggesting menus items and wine. My wife and I wanted a nice place to celebrate our wedding anniversary where the food was flavorful and the service attentive. We really enjoyed our time at Omega Ouzeri. It meets and exceeded our expectations. The owner (Thomas) even came by to visit our table and he didn't know it was a special occasion for us. I would highly recommend this restaurant, when we return to Seattle we will stop by again!
We are definitely coming back! Food was excellent!
Excellent food and service.
The food was fantastic and the service was great as well. This is a hidden gem that I have not heard a lot about and was very pleased. Everyone in our group loved the meal.
Extremely pleasant local restaurant with great ambiance and food. Seafood is excellent. Perfect place for an evening with friends.
Excellent atmosphere and superb quality food! We ordered 7-8 small plates and the only item we were so-so about was a common dish, the calamari, which came out late and was cold, probably also due to the potato puree being cold. However, this did not take away from our first experience here and were very impressed with the taste of the dishes and presentation! Will definitely come back!
We were Vios fans for years, alas, it is not what it once was, so we decided to give Omega a try (and we just returned from Greece). Delicious food, and unlike so many Seattle places, it is possible to have a conversation, high ceilings, very pleasant on a summer night with the large window open to the street. Only negative, waiters should not smoke on duty, very off-putting to bring an ashtray odor to the table when delivering food.
Food was overpriced for the quality. I prefer Vios to Omega Ouzeri for both the food and the price.
Went here when it first opened up and wasn’t too impressed with the food so hadn’t been back till now. Food was markedly better. Very yummy! Will be back
Great dinner for our family including two young children. Kitchen and service were efficient. Food came out very quickly, in multiple courses because we ordered several smaller dishes, but timing in between each was perfect. No kids cups. Wine bottle was 30% off because it was a Sunday. Menu size was just right—enough variety to be interesting but not a huge menu that tries to cover everything. All dishes were cooked just right and were more refined than what you would find at a typical Greek restaurant, yet the food presentation and overall restaurant atmosphere were comfortably casual. The only dish that was a bit disappointing was the Greek salad, which was just a plain Greek salad—taste was fine but would have preferred if they could have given it a bit of a twist. Will be back soon.
Great service, great food. The restaurant immaculately clean which is very important to me. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
fried calamari, greek salad ,grilled sea bass ,white greek wine .A 10
Everything was great!
Always amazing food and fun. Everything is perfect!
Delicious dishes using fresh ingredients! Our server and the kitchen was most attentive to our needs. Our daughter had a number of food allergies that required they alter their recipes to accommodate her. We will definitely be back!
Amazing neighborhood spot with extensive Greek wine list. Delicious food!
