Olivers Bar & Restaurant
Great food and great service! We will be back for sure.
The service is excellent and the waitresses are incredibly accommodating. The restaurant is clean and the food is good. Highly recommended.
Food was adequate at best with filo pastry that was rock solid. Tasted suspiciously like it had been microwaved
We couldnt fault the place, but that might be because we were the only ones in there. Was nice having the place to ourselves though and the staff were very attentive and polite. The food was exceptional and really good value. We will definitely return for a lunch date soon.
Enjoyed the food and good value, just lacking a bit of atmosphere as we were the only ones there. Worth going to and would go back.
Went here for my daughter's 21st birthday lunch , staff and food were amazing , very attentive, would definitely recommend the Sunday lunch amazing value
Excellent. Service was exemplary, waitress was very courteous. Food was awesome. Only gripe is that being seated near to the open window we occasionally got the stinky stench of the smokers outside, below the window. But apart from that I would thoroughly recommend it,
Nice food, Pleasant waiter who we later found out he was the Manager, very good Wine and selection of beers.
Very good menu at a Affordable price. Food arrived quickly And service was excellent
Nicely situated on historic Rochester's high street, friendly staff , very good food and good value for money - our group definitely want to find an excess to go back!
Had a great time with my family staff friendly and efficient service great, will certainly book again.RITA.
It wasn’t very busy but the service is always excellent, staff polite, food & drink excellent
Lovely service extremely friendly. Food is great will definitely visit again
Lovely building with comfy seats in the restaurant area. Generous portions for the main roasts, although the lamb appeared to have been over re-heated, making it tough to eat, which was a huge shame. Very good value for money and if we are ever in Rochester again, we will pop in.
Excellent service and food. We arrived and it was a very hot day. We we were greeted with lots of over water to quench our thirst. Perfect service, perfect food, good quality and quantity. Really reasonable for the price. Will definitely return.
Surprise lunch for my niece 50th birthday . Superb food and attentive service. Highly recommended.
Went there as a special treat for friends 60th, amazing food, value and service. Have already booked to go back again with another group of friends!
Food was lovely, presentation was good. Service also good, would recommend this restaurant. Cocktails are very good.
Sunday lunch was average , didn’t all come out at the same time. Had to wait for horseradish and mint sauce. Our white wine was left out and not chilled although when we advised the waiter he did give us a new bottle. Restaurant was full of young staff who didn’t seem able to cope or understand their job . Bit of a shame as we’ve been several times in the evening when it was fantastic .
Lovely venue-looks a bit tired and could be beautiful with a revamp. Food took a while and just ok. Veggie main brie parcel needed veg with it and considering it is the same price as meat based mains that include veg left us feeling short changed. Apple crumble was deconstructed and in a pastry case-dissapointing! Friendly staff and fab building but fell short on food.
Food was great, loved the period decor of the venue, friendly and professional staff and will certainly return
Lovely evening. Great food. There was a big party next door which was very loud but it didn’t spoil our evening
Atmospheric bar restaurant, we arrived early for a drink but there was very little seating in the bar area so we had to. Over through to the smaller of the two restaurant rooms. Service was good, food arrived with little delay and was delicious. We were the only di era for a while but it didn't feel uncomfortable as the room was a good size. A noisy birthday party arrived later in the second dining area and though we could hear them it wasn't too bad. Overall very enjoyable and would go back.
Excellent service and food but limited choice for vegetarians.
Lovely food, service was slow, waited 20 mins before took our drinks order, but they apologised without any prompting. Staff very friendly. Had 3 courses Sunday lunch, all lovely and beautifully presented, very good value. Sunday Roast was fab, other choices if roast is not your thing. Vegetarian options sounded inventive. Fake and tired flower on the table could be replaced with fresh for very little cost and would add something. The ambiance is not great but can't put my finger on what is missing but won't stop me going back or recommending.
A great evening out! My two friends had the duck and said it was a little tough but I had the lamp and couldn’t fault it! The menu had great choice and the service was very good. Charming place full of character. We had a drink at the bar afterwards too which was also nice.
I did wonder why Oliver’s was empty on a Thursday evening but when I saw the menu I realised why. I struggled to find a dish I liked in the starters, mains or sweets. I really fancied lamb or steak but apart from sausages there was no red meat on the menu.
My dish was so over seasoned I couldn’t eat and I didn’t like any of the starters or sweets so all in all it was a bit of a disaster. Not really how I wanted to spend my birthday.
The waiter however, was lovely and attentive and the service good.
Food was lovely, beer was a little expensive but good offers on the cocktails
Very nice place, service very good, food excellent. Well priced fixed menu with varied choice
The food and service was amazing. Drinks a little expensive. Music after was awful. Started off great but then not the sort of music you could dance too. We left soon after. Shame as it started off better.
Staff and food were lovely!
Food was exceptional, would definitely recommend. Service initially was poor but was rectified quickly and efficiently.
Everything about our visit was perfect. Our new favourite place!
We enjoyed the set menu and the 2-4-1 cocktails so the value was amazing.
Service was just superb and the best we have experienced, ever.
Will certainly be returning.
We really enjoyed our visit to Rochester, and Oliver’s in particular. The food was delicious, the young staff were efficient and enthusiastic. We will definitely return.
Good food good service cheap prices
Lovely food. Good value. Amazing selection of cocktails.
A lovely period house which is a wine bar as well as a restaurant. The food was very good, well cooked, tasty and good portion size. Also value for money. The waiting staff were very pleasant and well presented but could do with some training. However, this did not affect our evening.
Good value for money. My only query was that there was no fish on the main meal menu. I am not aware that this is just a meat only restaurant.
Overall we had a very good evening out and I would go there again.
First time of visiting splicers and was really impressed. Food was lovely, staff were great and we will be returning - well done Okuvets for a memorable night!
We visited for the first time this weekend to celebrate my fathers 84th birthday. Both the food and the service were excellent. At first I was dissappointed because I hadnt realised that the Christmas menu was being served as the choice I had seen on the menu on line when booking sounded delicious. That was short lived as the Christmas menu had something for everyone, was a generous portion nicely presented and very flavoursome.
I would definitely book again but unfortunately due to the location of the toilets which were two flights of stairs above the restaurant, I would not be able to bring my father along. Due to his age and ability he found it a real struggle.
Perhaps in future they may be able to accommodate a disabled WC with easier access.
This is my only criticism as otherwise we found this to be a lovely restaurant. Great service and good value.
