Oka Kingly Court
The menu showcases a selection of homemade hosomaki, Uramaki, Nigiri, sashimi and Plates alongside an abundance of carefully chosen authentic Robata grill dishes like bulgogi beef, yakiniku rib eye steak, kimchi chicken, Mongolian lamb and miso black cod. The drinks list includes Dewazakura ‘Oka’ Sake, Japanese ‘hibiki’ whisky along with specialty cocktail menu which use ingredients like lemongrass, lychee, fresh wasabi and many more.
It's a great place with pleasant staff. It is small and you are packed together and it meant conversation at times was tough due to noise. However it is in the great Kingley Court and you almost expect that. We didn't share dishes and the portion size was good for a main course.
Excellent, tasty food. Friendly, helpful service. Highly recommended
All our food didn't arrive at the same time. I wasn't in love with the interior design of the restaurant either.
On the other hand, the service was relativity fast and fantastic location.
Great place, fantastic food, wonderful people in a super nice setting. And the staff is not afraid to advise you in your choice.
Lovely restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing we said it was some of the best sushi we’ve had. The staff were a little slow when we first got in and had to load up flagging someone to get our first drinks. Restaurant is pretty small and gets busy so booking is a must. We would definitely return to Oka for a meal and have already recommended it to friends.
A triip to London without a visit at Oka's doesn't feel complete.
The food was excellent and the service was fast and attentive, but not suffocating, they get the balance just right. It is only a small restaurant and the tables for 2 are quite close together, but the staff were so helpful and gave us a lovely table right next to the bi-fold windows on a sunny day, which was perfect. Great food, would definitely go back.
Slightly noisy but do not let that put you off. Amazing sushi and wonderful staff make for a perfect pre theatre setting. I cannot recommend enough! This place is amazing.
Great lunch out with my daughter
One of the best sushi in London. Quick and kind service, always a pleasure to dine at Oka.
I found the food to be small portions and very expensive for what we had. Left the restaurant needing to eat somewhere else!
Ambience was good. Very compact restaurant with not many tables. Cute little location in Kingly Court. Lovely on a summer evening.
Never fails to disappoint.
Impeccable as always. Keep coming back for both food and service 5*
The jalapeño roll and the kimchi chicken are divine. I go back at least once a month for these two dishes only. The rest of the menu is also outstanding.
Delicious food, easy to over order and over eat! Not cheap ..
If you are going just by yourself for a quick bite then it's okay. However, due to space not being big, the management is trying to cram as many tables as possible and there isn't much space to move around. The food was okay and fresh but quite expensive for what it is. I didn't appreciate the 12,5% charge either when there wasn't much service to it anyway.
Second time I’ve been, unfortunately wasn’t as good as the first time! Waiting staff not as good and waited far to long for a drink.
Amazing food and service.
The ambiance is great but the experience felt a little rushed and not relaxed.
Quality, fresh food, great menu with attentive service. Tables a little close together.
The food is excellent, people are very kind. in fact it was so good i went back the following day. worth the money and the food is very innovative and very tasty.
No gluten free menu but staff very helpful in finding something I could eat.
A great evening, the stuff did everything to make our stay at this hot evening great! Unfortunately the window could not be openend at our table.
Overrated. Heard it was very good, it was just okay.
Excellent service, really accomodating to our dietary requirements. We had a variety of sushi which was really fresh and the grilled octopus was cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. Love the atmosphere there too, will be heading back for sure!
Oka restaurants are very good for sushi in London.
Dirty Close tables.
Great quality, freshly made sushi with real wasabi! Will definitely be returning.
Absolutely amazing food and great service, definitely going again soon
I would recommend it to a friend that was shopping in the area.
I went with friends for lunch and was good for a lunch spot.
Tempura sofshell crab and prawns were great but the kara age chicken was BEYOND!
It had a cornflake crust and was crunchy and still moist on the inside. Defo try this if you like you kara age!
Otherwise the menu is pretty generic. Everything pretty much available in any japanese restaurant of this kinda level.
We ordered loads, there were a couple of things which were really meh (tuna tataki and the passion fruit mousse tasted funky) but they were taken off the bill straight away. The service was great. We felt looked after.
Food executed well but there is nothing on the menu that differs it from the others.
Will I go back? Possibly if I'm too lazy to look for somewhere new.
The food was amazing, the cocktails were delicious. The service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling obtrusive. The ambience was great, Kingly Court is a crowded fun area with multiple restaurants, but never felt that I had to shout above the noise, or felt too crowded. All in all a perfect night out.
Fantastic food and service as always. Celebrated a birthday here and made us feel very special
- the service was very poor. The waiter told me off for ordering too much. We were sitting in the corner next to the bar & kitchen - it was loud, unpleasant, the waiter was constantly pushing us when passing by
Unfortunately, our experience at OKA was disappointing. The food was very good. However, the service was very poor as we were being told to go within 1 hour of arriving. We had not even had coffee or dessert and our server told us he could not serve dessert because he had another reservation waiting. We were not forewarned that we had our table for only 1 hour when we arrived or when I made the booking. I hope they improve their policy!
Third time in few month and it’s always a good choice. Food is great and service always good. The time slot for a booking for 4 is a bit on the short side.
Third time here and the food is amazing and also the staff are really very friendly and helpful. A lovely restaurant and will always return on trips to London.
So unexpected good, friendly staff, good service. We ordered 4 dishes such was plenty for lunch it was really tasty. Would recommend the Tataki asparagus rolls with yellow tuna, the salmon sashimi was so delicate and the bites were good too. I'll try some of the hot dishes next time I visit.
I have been to Oka a few times and the food is always excellent. Really fresh succulent sushi and the karaage chicken and tempura aubergine were both crispy and delicious. Staff very friendly and efficient. Only downside is its such a tiny space that you're really crammed in next to your neighbours which can make conversation difficult at times - you have to shout! But it's worth it for the food.
Great food, high quality.
Great food, waiters are super friendly, but service has to be improved on a management level. I’ve received a call and agreed for a slot of 1,5hrs (dinner time, a bit tight right?). It took around 40mins for food to reach our table and when we asked for a desert (in around 20mins) waitress apologetically asked us to leave as her manager said that we had only 5mins left. Obviously we didn’t check time thinking 1,5hrs has passed. We rushed and left straight away and only then realised that it was only 1hr.
I think this is unacceptable
Really good sushi in Kingly Court - enjoyed our dinner.
