Good Vegetarian Options
Our Soho-based restaurant has some of the Ottolenghi trademarks – platters full of salads greet customers as they arrive, a menu which celebrates bold flavours – but NOPI has a very different feel to the Ottolenghi delis. The marble is white, the brass is golden, the art is dynamic, the pace is a little faster. Upstairs we offer individual dining tables accommodating up to 6 guests. Downstairs we have two large communal/chef's tables overlooking our open plan kitchen and larder. NOPI’s menu changes according to the seasons with bold flavours and colours, broadly based on Mediterranean, Middle-eastern and Asian ingredients, using lots of herbs and spices. NOPI is open for breakfast, lunch, pre-theatre, dinner, and post-theatre.

Perfect in every way. Staff and food exceptional. We had sharing plates and would totally recommend this way of dining as an opportunity to sample the amazing dishes. We had a Catalan white to accompany our food a great lunchtime wine

Ottolenghi's bizarro-world evil twin. Everything was weird in a bad way instead of his Upper Street good way. Sea bass was overcooked and mushy, with a smear of hot Thai red pepper sauce across it that killed whatever was beneath it. Cauliflower discs were pankoed so heavily that no cauliflower could be discerned beneath the breading. Tasty polenta chips covered with parmesan were served with a bizarre mustard sauce when they were crying out for something tomato based. A beautiful salad made of only red leaves came with a dressing so meager and so lacking in oil and acid that leaves were essentially undressed. Cod was inappropriately flavoured with god-knows-what that killed the fish. No bread. The desserts were marvelous. The two of us had a chocolate ball of ice cream sauced with red currants. Divine! And chocolate ice cream with caramelized pasta-looking wafers and--probably not a good idea--a sauce containing whiskey. Brandy would have been better. The staff attention was outstanding and made a miserable meal better. Terrible aggressive pounding music.

As always, first class service and food. Vegetarian options always a stand out, but the soft shell crab was excellent. Brilliant again.

Did not feel the warmth of ottolenghi’s cooking and experience... place is too posh and lacks Mediterranean feel.

Lovely friendly staff. Very helpful in relation to a food intolerance. Each dish was delicious. Could look at portion size. 6 polenta chips was quite minimal for £7.00

As we sat down, the waiter behind the bar explained that NOPI was a little different to the other restaurants in that each dish had so many spices and flavours - and he was right! Each dish was punchy and had so many flavours! We says t the bar which was a nice and easy sharing experience. We didn't have a cocktail but wish we had as the ones they made in front of us looked incredible. All the dishes ere amazing but the simple polenta chips were pure comfort food and good last minute order. The chocolate ganache with whisky caramel was incredible too

Haven’t been to Nopi in a couple of years because I’ve been away from London... while I’m an ottolenghi fan generally, the food was ho hum, lacking pizzazz. Much too expensive for the lackluster food we received.

The vegetable dishes were exciting and different and the option to have tapas size dishes was convenient. The main dishes were overpriced for what was in them. So value for money not so high and may influence how many times we go back there. The service was tip top.

We had looked forward to going to Nopi, but encountered transportation challenges getting there during rush hour and an unexploded WW2 bomb scare in Soho, in time for our reservation. I called twice and our reservations were pushed forward, which was a relief. Once at the restaurant, our server did all she could to help us relax. But, we discovered one of our party had left his phone in the taxi! Again, our server went out of her way to suggest things we could do to retrieve the phone, and our friend got his phone back by sheer luck, following one of her suggestions.

With the phone in hand, we turned to our meal and ordered several small plates and two mains. Each plate was a source of wonder about ingredients, presentation and taste. We ordered the perfect amount of food for 4 hungry Americans, in addition to the two pleasant surprises given to us by our server during the height of our lost phone crisis. The flavors from all the dishes seemed to work together. Our server expertly helped us navigate the wine list, steering us to nice choices.

We ordered 2 desserts, believing that the stress of the early part of our evening demanded it, and the chocolate ganache did the trick in further assuaging our angst. All was well, and we left Nopi hugely satisfied. I will say that we enjoyed our visits to the loo because of the - well, you just need to visit Nopi to find out. We cook from Ottolenghi cookbooks and it was great fun seeing some of the pages come alive.

I expected more vegetarian choices, especially in the mains and it makes no sense to drench a vegetable dish (the roasted cabbage) with pork sauce! For me the savoury cheesecake and polenta chips were the winners and I would gladly eat those once a week but there wasn't much else on the menu to tempt me...
