NOPI - Downstairs
We had a fabulous meal. I have eaten at Nopi before but never downstairs on the shared tables. I wasn’t sure how that would be but it was great. We had a fabulous waiter (can’t recall his name!) he was attentive and very helpful with the menu and any requirements we had. I think this is probably one of my all time favourite restaurants. A lovely evening and great surroundings.
A lovely dinner prior to a show. Wonderful service , nice ambiance and food was special
Dined at NOPI alone, but felt so welcomed by the staff and other table guests. All recommendations made to me were spot on and I had a very enjoyable experience. The downstairs atmosphere is quite unique, but promotes for interaction between guests.
I would recommend, but upstairs ! It was very very drafty, i felt very uncomfortable and had to put a scarf around my neck -
Great atmosphere and lovely food. The bathrooms were the craziest I’ve ever seen! All mirrors! Check it out!
Downstairs at Nopi can be noisy as the kitchen is open. We chose downstairs to see the kitchen but were seated at a table where this was not possible. We Sat at a shared table and this added to the experience as we chatted to three other couples from around the world. The food was fabulous as was the service.
The service was excellant and very attentative. We ordered mostly vegetarian options and they were delicious. Don't miss out on the aubergine...delicious!
We loved the food, the excellent drinks -I'd love a saffron chase every day : )- and the friendly service. I was happy to be seated downstairs, as it was very noisy upstairs. I don't think I would have enjoyed my time at Nopi as much if I would have had a seat upstairs.
I was excited to try NOPI while I was in London for a holiday. I went with my mother. A word of warning if you are not from the UK, they mean “upstairs” and “downstairs” in the British sense. If you are a fan of Downton Abbey you’ll understand if not, downstairs means the basement. I didn’t pick up on that when I made the reservation so we were in the basement. Not ideal for dining with your mother! That aside, the restaurant is beautiful, like the food, clean and elegant. We shared a number of small plates and made our selections based on our waiter’s suggestions. Very happy with everything we tried - probably didn’t need the polenta fries! Service was excellent and although the food is expensive I was prepared and found it worth the price. The fresh mint tea was the perfect ending.
Absolutely fantastic (bucket list meal) with great friends. Downstairs is amazing and do your self a favour and visit the bathrooms. They are amazing!
Service was poor. The waiter spilled water and wine on our place settings while pouring. She did not seem to notice. The only green salad available was so overly salted that it was inedible. The dishes did not come up to the expectations we had of Ottolenghi given that we use his recipes regularly. Despite the bill of over £100, no-one bothered to thank us or say goodbye when we left. Not an uplifting experience.
Poor service. Our plates were cleared by the unfriendly staff while I was still eating. Everything had to go quickly, as if they wanted us back outside after 30 minutes. The food was as expected. But also completely without the surprises that were the Nopi before. For us it was the last time in the Nopi.
Continues to be one of our favorite restaurants. Absolutely fantastic.
What a nice touch, it was my birthday and they made the effort of presenting me a watermelon sorbet with candle!! Awww - totally unexpected. I entered low star for service by mistake and I don’t know how to give it more stars now! Ambience is good but you’re sharing table and it can get a bit noisy. BUT, FOOD WAS AWESOME, definitely worth going back again and again and again
Great ambience and staff know about the menu well.
The food and service were excellent. Our waiter was exceptionally helpful.
We were expecting good food but what we got was exceptional fare. Well prepared, simply and not over-fussily presented. The service was just right and the waiter friendly and helpful and ensuring our evening went well.
An experience we will long remember.
Sharing plates were amazing but mains were disappointing. If you go again we’ll just get sharing plates.
We were really looking forward to our first experience at one of Ottolenghi's restaurants, and were slightly disappointed. The food was good but overpriced and there was not much discovery in the flavours or associations.
We had a lovely evening with excellent food, friendly staff in a relaxed environment.
Definitely coming back!
A combination of amazing food and perfect service make Nobi a must-do experience for anyone who loves Mediterranean cuisine. The aubergine and the zucchini fritters are to die for.
This is the second time i visited Nopi and I experienced an amazing dinner . Everything was great, I like the basement because you can see and smell a different envoiroment . i ‘m lookng forward to going again
Really warm and considerate and professional waiting staff
Delicious food, promptly served, great for sharing - especially the aubergine and the rainbow trout
A really delightful experience and not too pricey
Fantastic food and service.
Operations of the restraunt over take the dining experience. We were greeted with information of the time we should leave by.
The atmosphere downstairs is too ‘stressy’ For my liking. It’s more of a chefs table in the kitchen than a dinner experience.
I think this should be made abundantly clear to visitors .
Last year experience was much better. This time less flavour in the food. List of desserts was poor, not in line with the name of the place. Too many people do not allow to enjoy the place.
Nopi was just as I'd hoped and expected except for the service. The service was impeccable, the member of staff who looked after my wife and I was so friendly made us feel very welcome. I wish I'd kept her name.
The food was beautiful also, we will be back soon to try more from the menu.
Waiter was great! The courgette fritters were to die for
Still good! I like downstairs, sharing a table with others.
Really lovely and attentive service. Made the night. That and the yummy veggie food
An amazing experience again - ambience, food, everything it has to offer. My partner hadn't been before and was thrilled to be taken. He thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
The food was excellent, the entourage downstairs was nice and by eating in community you meet a lot of different people! Upstairs it was very noisy and I was glad to be downstairs.
Love everything about NOPI. The food, service, atmosphere is impeccable. Come here every time I visit London.
Try the rainbow trout with apple watercress pesto, exquisite.
Happy to have booked to eat downstairs - quieter and more ambiance.
I want to return!
Fabulous & memorable experience. Loved the communal dining, which was actually very private!
Excellent restaurant!! My wife is a big fan of the chef
Very expensive. Small dishes. The starters were great but the main course was not more then fine.
Very informal and nice atmosphere, scrumptious food, wonderful cocktails and attentive staff. Overlooking the kitchen is a big plus! Fit for foodies!
We had an incredible time. Thank you so much for an amazing time. Food, environment and service was outstanding!
We will be back :0)
I was looking forward to come and dine at NOPI, because I’m a huge fan of Yotam Ottolenghi and his cookbooks. I wasn’t disappointed! We were welcomed very friendly, and afterwards we were advised very well about what to choose. We sat downstairs at one of the communal tables, with view on the kitchen, a nice atmosphere.
We took a couple of plates to share, and were surprised about the quality of the food, everything was really tasty! (one little downside : we took the absolutely great nuts as an appetizer, but the plates already came before we could finish them)
Had a great evening, and I will certainly come back when I’m in London!
Amazing food, fantastic service. Loved it so much that bought NOPI. Cookbook.
