Nickel and Rye
As the best whiskey bar Dallas has to offer, we specialize in hand crafted cocktails, local & unique beers, rye whiskeys, and a chef-driven menu. We also serve a fantastic brunch each and every Saturday and Sunday!
I love this place. The wings are amazing and the staff is friendly
Was meeting after work with some friends and waited for service for atleast 20 minutes before we even received water. Took another 40 or so just to order food and then 30 minutes just to get the check. I understand it was busy but just because I’m not a larger party doesn’t mean I should be ignored
I love ladies’ night!!
Was not impressed with the food had the chicken and funnel cake. The funnel cake was amazing the chicken was plain just simple chicken tenders not what I was expecting. The ambiance was great music was great nice chill spot.
A fun lively environment. Great for a Sunday funday and lively entertainment. The lemon pepper wings were amazing.
Food was great. Hygiene needs work. The menu was sopping wet from the previous night’s party crowd.
Everything that could go wrong did while we dined. Service was dreadful and for us as one of the five tables in the restaurant we were ignored consistently. The appetizers were good although our group portions were noticeably smaller than the table next to us. I ordered the peanut butter burger or a well done charred piece of burger with a side of peanut butter. Of our group of six the server forget one meal, forgot it again 10 minutes later and proceeded to bring the meal with the ticket and forgot to remove it from the bill. This place is a horrible pick for a Friday night out on McKinney Avenue. To give a plus to the dining experience, the chicken and funnel cake was very yummy.
Love this place. The food is amazing litterley some of the best food I have ever had. Cant wait to return.
The server was great at suggesting beers for us to try!
Went there for Mother’s Day brunch. The patio set up was great. The service was rather slow, food did not come out hot either. It tasted good, but not very good. I will definitely return, but only for cocktails and the patio experience. Mimosas were ok.
The wings were great! However, my drink was watered down and definitely not worth $10.
Service was so great! Server was super attentive and the food was delicious! Super affordable - Friday is ladies night and everything is half off or on special!
The service, wine and food were great. We will be back.
Service a little slow at first waited 15 min but then was serviced often , mimosas great, food good
I would visit again
We went in for brunch recently while traveling and felt the food was amazing. Unique twist doing funnel cake and chicken instead of the typical chicken and waffles. I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was full of porky goodness and flavor. Must try the sausage patties and potatoes both well worth it.
We loved the ambiance of Nickel and Rye, since we were looking for a relaxing evening. We ordered three appetizers to share and the amount of food was more than enough. We took almost half of our meal back to our hotel and loved the food. The service was great and very enjoyable.
When I arrived, I was told that it was opening seating although I made a reservation. I was seated at the end of a table that was already occupied by 3 other people. I believe that if you are taking reservations that they should be honored and that it should not be open seating especially if the weather is not adequate enough for the customers to use the outside seating and that causes limited seats.
The sound of the TVs were TERRIBLY TERRIBLY loud. I couldn’t even hear the person sitting right next to me. The manager wouldn’t lower the sound because he couldn’t hear the game. Real nice. Not professional or accommodating. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone or visit again.
Just a cool Uptown spot. Not pretentious. Cool employees. Good service. Good date spot too. Park your electric scooter out back.
We had a good brunch. Some of the furniture could use some updating.
I made a reservation for the Michigan game/a birthday and I even updated it in the morning to be less people with someone on the phone and they were like “thanks for letting us know” when I got there they said they don’t do reservations on game days and I should just sit anywhere. In my open table reservation I put that it was someone’s bday and I was like well do you do anything for bdays, and they were like “no not really”. The burgers are awful. Fried pickles are really good and our waitress was sweet. Just overvalued a super meh experience. Doesn’t seem to be run by super experienced people.
It was freezing outside but they wouldn’t close the door
Love this place. It’s out brunch go to.
Made an OpenTable reservation only to show up to the restaurant being open seating, and full. Quite disappointing, but we were able to get a table eventually. Service was abysmal - we were there for almost 2 hours and saw our server maybe 5 times. Good hangout spot, but wouldn't go again for a meal.
I had heard a lot about this restaurant so I definitely want to try it but I was somewhat disappointed. The server was really nice and helpful and recommended their best dish wish was the funnel cake and fried chicken and I was really disappointed with how the food tasted. It was below what I expected. I also asked for a strawberry lemonade and got a drink that tasted nothing like a strawberry lemonade. The ambiance is nice and it is a lively spot to hang out with friends.
Had an amazing time at nickel & rye with my date. Staff is friendly and conversational. Food was amazing! Sangria was also delicious! Would highly recommend as a place to head out and enjoy after work or for a date night.
The venue was great for a brunch and the service was awesome. The large pitchers of mimosas are great. We came when the live music was starting which was really loud and we couldn't really hear one another so we will probably avoid that in the future. Other than that one issue the venue is definitely a great spot to go for a fun brunch with friends.
Cool place to chill, drink some brew, and eat some chicken!
Love this place! I had the crab benedict for brunch and it was delicious. Great price on their mimosas too. I've also been here just for drinks and loved it as well. Awesome staff and live music on Sundays!
This was my first visit, but won't be my last. The ambiance was very casual and warm. And the crab benny didn't disappoint the palate!
Went for brunch. Drinks, food and music were all great. Perfect for a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
Only complaint I have is the table they sat us at out side. the countertop hang was not wide enough and I'm 5'1 the shortest one in the group and I hit my knee 3 times just trying to get seated. Other than that food, atmosphere was great.
Service was exceptional. Atmosphere and good were outstanding.
Our Server for Easter brunch was what made our visit. The food was also great. However, the loud blaring unedited rap music was not what I anticipated to listen to with my 7 and 5 year old for Easter brunch. Again, however, we didn't complain Bc we brought kids to a bar. Our server was aware enough to try to skip songs every time she noticed.
Love this place! Great drinks and fun atmosphere
Dominique, our server, was Great! Great deal on mimosas too.
We had a great time getting together with friends we hadn't seen in a while. Had wonderful service, great food & awesome drinks! Happy hour is amazing!
It was good but the next day we noticed the waitress charged us more than what our bill was for.
Nothing about this place was good. Have other reviewers been here lately? First issue was we parked in a mostly empty parking lot behind the place and after we were out of the car some valet guy runs up and says its $5 to park. That was a joke and a ripoff. Half of the place we were told is closed (maybe because we went late on a Sun afternoon?) but expected better in every way. Had two just OK drinks (with less than OK service) and left.
Inside noise level was over the top. Not a great selection for a more intimate discussion.
