Nick & Sam's Steakhouse
USA Today says “well-done”, ZAGAT “very good to excellent” and a 2008 recipient of the Five Diamond Star Award.
So I’ve been going to Nick & Sams for about 15 years. And this time was a first that I had to wait 2 and half HOURS to get seated TWO AND HALF!!My blood sugar dropped while I was at the table because we waited so long. I had eaten earlier in the day before dinner. But never did I realize we’d have to be waiting that long. Our server was AMAZING!! I was thankful for him .. Oh and I was celebrating my big 40th.
Great, except for the 1hr wait that despite having a reservation you have to do for your table... which I have no problem with, as long as there is a waiter that can serve the drinks.... despite several asks, ended-up doing a long line at the bar to get ours... that, could definitely be improved
It was ours and our friends Anniversary. The entire experience was outstanding, highly recommend.
We had an 8.00 pm reservation and were not seated until 8.45 - this was after asking the hostess and manager 3 times when our table would be ready. Each time we asked they said we were next in the list but then multiple parties would be seated.
The table we were placed at was in a high traffic area where a table normally doesn’t even sit. The wait staff and guests were walking by the entire time, people yelling over our table, and every 30 seconds someone was hitting our chairs, one waiter tripped and fell on one of us saying “there’s never usually a table here.”
Only redeeming factor was the food but the service and atmosphere was so poor it was difficult to enjoy.
Our waiter didn’t provide us a level of service that we are accustomed to when we come to Nick & Sam’s. I was thoroughly disappointed.
We had such a great experience at Nick and Sam’s! I would definitely recommend this for any special occasion you have coming up! The only downfall of the night was ordering a bottle of wine and then being charged twice the amount because they grabbed the wrong bottle the server said? But overall such a fun experience!
Outstanding meal & experience
Overall I love this place, the food is always good and the gathering usually entails some kind of celebration that leaves us with great memories. Here's my issue with coming here, it always seems like they pack as many people possible in the main dining area to a point where, holding onto a neighbors shoulders to pass through seems unnecessary for the elite establishment this place strives for. I feel that this place holds itself to higher standards for service and food and they should truly consider decreasing the amount of people to avoid feeling like a cattle car; people will still come and people will still spend $$$$ and the experience will be more comfortable and lucrative to your customers. With that said our service was great and he did a wonderful job maneuvering around the cramped quarters. I did at one point have meat rub down my arm as a server tried to deliver a steak to the seat next to me and it was just tight all around. We had a larger table with a larger group and the check out process was great, we communicated from the beginning about split checks and NO problem at the end. We celebrated a birthday and enjoyed the cake and cotton candy, always fun and always makes the person feel very special. If you're looking for food suggestions here, steak first and foremost! The Aged Ribeye was delicious and just the right size. For wow factor go for the tomahawk, why not! The lobster mac and cheese is amongst the best in the city, the grilled octopus was AMAZING, as well as the Elote, which was a surprise and I implore you to try it. We always try to explore the menu and the last item we tried this night was the Madagascar Prawns, they were enormous and just as delicious! I was disappointed that our table wasn't decorated for the birthday celebration but our server made up for it hands down. I definitely recommend reservations and if you want a good conversation head to the bar area instead of the main dining and remember it's $$$$-$$$$$.
Our main waiter was not attentive or very engaging his mind appeared to be elsewhere. It was my daughter’s birthday. Where our waiter lacked his fellow coworkers made up with personality and enthusiasm.
Some of the best food and service ever experienced. Went above and beyond to make my daughters birthday celebration wonderful. Filet was amazing along with the potatoes as gratin. The seven layer birthday cake topped off a great evening. The overall atmosphere was good but a little loud for a fine dining experience. We will be back for the service and food. Great evening.
Awesome restaurant. Food is fantastic and our server Ashley is the best. I try to visit every time I am in Dallas
Reservation time was not honored by restaurant (they were over 30 minutes late seating us). Server often seemed hurried and stressed. Food was terrific.
It was wonderful time at your restaurant. The service was excellent.
Wait staff- great, helpful, friendly
The only issue we had was the yelling and noise coming from the kitchen (which is open for all to see)
One of the staff was constantly yelling and despite his efforts, the piano player didn’t drown this out.
I’d recommend this place, just don’t sit near the kitchen
Great experience. Wld love to revisit soon. Steak was amazing.
bring your wallet!!
Our waiter; Luis, made sure to take care of us all night! Lots of food to enjoy from with a nice ambience. Thermostat is set a little cold, I’m sure it’s kept that way to keep it from feeling hot and stuffy. Overall experience was amazing and delicious!
My wife and I celebrated our 18th Anniversary and Nick & Sam’s is ALWAYS OUTSTANDING in EVERY WAY!!! Thanks Again for a memorable evening!
It is kind of sad to us that a Dallas staple of fine dining has become a circus. The food remains good, but the price per quality and ambience is terribly disappointing.
We won’t return, and much prefer the classiness of Al Biernats, del Friscos, Bob’s, Perry’s etc.
Well worth the wait and money
First time at this restaurant. My son & I enjoyed a wonderful meal. It was somewhat crowded, tables were very close to one another. But we enjoyed the experience we had there. Our waiter was Fantastic!
Thank you. I will definetly go again.
Amazing food and service. My first time experiencing Wagyu Beef and it was out of this world!
Fantastic experience each and every time we visit. Thanks to Chef Samir and the great team!!
Food was phenomenal - ambiance was perfect - service was awesome. I would definitely recommend to friends and family!
We had the perfect date night with exceptional food as always and a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back soon!
I can't say enough about my experience at Nick and Sam's. The food, free cavier, need I say more. We ordered steaks and they were cooked to perfection. And if that's not enough to get you there, the service will keep you coming back. That was my first visit and I have already scheduled our next reservation.
Great food and meal .. awesome wine collection. More expensive than I thought
We were seated
Exceptional everything with a cool birthday cotton candy surprise!!
Steak was great. Sides left something to be desired. Cheese plate - soggy crackers. Dessert, ceremony and service were outstanding! Nicest folks on the planet work here!
Service was impeccable. Foie Gras appetizer was disappointing as the biscotti was too hard to eat; however the salmon and side dishes were excellent. Everyone in my party cleaned their plates. Because of the acoustics, the restaurant was painfully loud. Lastly, the tables were crammed too close to each other which may have been planned for Restaurant Week.
Ordered kobe filet, snow beef filet, and their olive beef ribeye for our table. This isn’t for everyone due to the price but if you want an amazing experience and one you will not forget I suggest this for a special occasion.
Bison at medium rare was extremely dry and the Bone in Cowboy was burnt and the truffle butter was overwhelming. Not a great experience. Was compensated for steak and customer service was top notch in dealing with issue. Octopus was on point and the dumplings were great.
It was my first time there! Celebrating my birthday with friends. Our waiter was amazing. He was very nice and patient as we didn’t know what we wanted just yet. Food was good! Complimentary champagne for the table as well.
Our server, Jackson, really set us up to have an awesome evening. We let the restaurant know ahead of time that we were celebrating an anniversary, and they went all out for us. We had rose petals on our table, a couple of appetizer samples, and one of the managers came by to give us a couple of glasses of champagne to celebrate the evening - all on the house. We enjoyed our steaks which were cooked to perfection, and were never low on drinks. The service was incredible, and we will most definitely be back. Would recommend Nick and Sams to anyone!!!
Wonderful service and food. Cole was our server and did a great job. It was fairly packed that night and so therefore, a little loud.
Very noisy. Good food but i don’t recommend the lobster appetizer. The tomahawk steak was excellent. Loved the cocktails and good wine recommendations. Unfortunately the lights went out for about 15 minutes. .
I went here with my girl friends for my 25th birthday and I am so happy I did! The director of ops went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience and a wonderful birthday! I truly appreciate good hospitality, and my gosh they nailed it. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and I will certainly be returning soon!
As usual, it was a great experience!!
Michael the waiter was all business and he knew the menu well. Great wine selection with hundreds bottles to choose. Very good sushi which was a surprise to find at an elite steakhouse. You will be shown the meat selection at table-side. Japanese offering were impressive. We had the bone in filet and Waygu beef. Both amazing. Kids will love the cotton candy lit up for dessert. Nice evening.
