Nick & Sam's Steakhouse
USA Today says “well-done”, ZAGAT “very good to excellent” and a 2008 recipient of the Five Diamond Star Award.
My fiancé and I went to celebrate getting engaged, the food was amazing, we got complimentary champagne for our special occasion, rose pedals on the table, and the service was great. The only even slightly negative thing was the ambiance, quite loud from all other tables and the kitchen. But life piano player was great!
Amazing food, even better service!
Our server EJ was fantastic!
Overall good experience. If you want a more intimate setting with minimal noise this is not your spot. Also, one is my guest had a bad experience with their steak. The Chef still didn’t nail it after 3 tries. Would recommend to someone looking for a party atmosphere for dinner.
DJ our waiter did an OUTSTANDING job. The food was magnificent. The entire place was beautiful. I enjoyed myself.
Ed is the BEST!!
Carrot cake is terrible. Mac n cheese is mediocre at best. Fried rice isn’t as good as it used to be. Wagyu was excellent.
First time dining and will definitely be back. Food and service were wonderful
For your classic Steakhouse Nick & Sam's is average. Our server was not out of this world he was adequate. Our server was difficult to understand, it was like he was mumbling through the menu options quickly as if he wanted to rush through the speech he's obligated to say to all the guests. Unless we asked him a question we couldn't understand his usual speech. Service was good but not spectacular - they did not clean the linen tablecloth as we dined, they did not fill water frequently. Ambiance is ok - nothing to write home about - nothing to remember - lots of featured fancy bottles serve as the decor. Seemed like a young crowd of young professionals who are OK with this atmosphere and service. We waited about 20 minutes standing in the lobby to be seated for our reservation which we arrived on time for.
DJ was one of the top 3 servers I have ever had in my life. Passionate about the food and service, knowledgeable and had impeccable timing. Expert in the wine list and made us feel special.
First time we’ve dined here. Seated on time. Service was excellent. Tatum did a fantastic job. Food was good as well. It was on par with some of the other big name steakhouses. Very good
Very exquisite experience. Our son loved the cotton candy dessert.
First, we were seated on top of the kitchen and path of the waitstaff and piano player which was loud and unpleasant. We were then seated at a nice table. When dinner was served, three of the four of us got our food. One of the party sent their steak back as it was undercooked. The steak returned and the fourth in our party still didn’t have their entree. We were served our side dishes of spinach and fries. To add insult to injury, the guest who was without an entree was given a small plate and served spinach. His serving had a chunk of broken glass on the plate. When we finally got our waitress’ attention, we alerted her to the glass and lack of entree. We asked for the manager. The manager came and took the spinach away. He never offered to replace the side dish. Eventually, our dining companion got his entree at which point the rest of us were done. The manager never came back to check on the situation. He sent out a dessert plate of his choice to make up for the disaster, I suppose. We were not charged for the spinach or the very very late arriving entree. Needless to say, Nick and Sams has left a very bad taste in our mouths. Mistakes happen. We are reasonable people. It’s all about the way you solve the problem(s) and make your guests feel. These two couples who are frequent diners will not be gracing the doors of Nick and Sams anytime soon. This could have had a very different ending if management had taken responsibility and practiced good hospitality.
Not the best steak I've had by any means. Not even in Dallas. The service was alright, but it was just simply too crowded and they wedged us in the back in a corner.
Took 30 minutes after our reservation to actually get seated and that has been my experience there in the past. Definitely a busier night because it was Valentine’s Day weekend. After that though our waiter was fantastic. It was as though we never ran out of wine. Got the calamari, dumplings, filet with mushrooms and onions, potatoes au gratin, fries, asparagus and sautéed spinach. Filet was excellent and my favorite sides were the spinach and potatoes au gratin, but the fries were pretty tasty too. We got 2 full slices of chocolate and red velvet cake but we do that knowing we will take a lot home, you only need half a slice.
This was our first time at Nick & Sam's and will definitely be returning, an overall excellent dining experience!
We have been to this restaurant multiple times in the past. This time we went on valentines weekend. We were seated at a tiny 2 top table in what seemed to be a back hallway. we’ve never been sat in there before. We were packed in there like sardines with the back of my chair touching the chair of the table behind me. When the two appetizers came out, the woman had to take away plates from the table in order for it to even come close to fitting on the table. I am shocked the owners/managers of this restaurant think it is ok to seat people like this in a high end restaurant. It ruined the whole experience and we left very disappointed.
We came here for galantines weekend and had a blast the staff was spot on and the food was delicious. I can’t wait to come back for a birthday!
I’m so disappointed with this restaurant! We’ve been there so many times and every time we experienced some new dislikes! However we still give it a chance until tonight that is valentines! All they care is to make money and give a very poor service when it comes to seating you at your table. I made my reservation in December 2019. It was my son’s birthday as well and we were going to celebrate instead we waited more than hour pass our reservation standing in the crowd. When we brought our concern to the front desk they were passive and rude plus the manger has no management qualifications since he truly can’t manage the quality of the service that the customers deserve. This was the last time I ever go to this restaurant!
Excellent food, good atmosphere and great customer service!
The experience was one of a kind, and it was our first time dining here. Everything about our visit was on point, our server was fantastic. The timing of the courses were delivered perfectly allowing for sufficient time to enjoy each item. The caviar, to the oysters to the salad to the drinks to the amazing tomahawk along with all those gorgeous sides was truly magical. Nick & Sam’s really set the tone for an amazing evening that my girlfriend and I had. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and look forward to celebrating more occasions here.
It was our first time dining here. Elizabeth was so kind and had great suggestions! She was AMAZING!
For Valentine's week this was the worst decision. Which makes sense I can't blame the restaurant too much. However they didn't handle it all too well with all the noise and clutter.
Great service and food! Food came out fast and wasn’t rushed to leave even though it was busy.
Loved the food, service and decor BUT it was SOOO loud in there, we had much difficulty hearing each other speak. We were seated in the main dining room just feet away from the their Grand Piano and the musician and just behind him was "the pass" from the kitchen to the servers. The employee running the pass was barking out directions and orders to the kitchen staff as loud as you ever saw Gordon Ramsay yell his out. Just without the cursing. That was very disruptive to our enjoyment of dinner and at times could startle you with the volume and intensity. Request to be as far away from the piano AND the kitchen pass and you will be happier. It is still a very busy restaurant and bar and there are better choices for a more intimate, quiet setting. Will certainly be back but will remember the aforementioned...
Understaffed, under-spaced and under whelmed. Won’t be back. Try Al Biernats or Bobs is want a good steak in Dallas.
Loved this place! Ambiance and food are great and the service we received was excellent! They treat you like royalty ❤️
I generally love this place, but we had the absolute WORST table in the restaurant- in some back area literally the last table before the kitchen. If this was my first experience, I’d never go back. You feel completely away from the ambiance of the rest of the restaurant and the service was slow. Not a stellar night for a birthday celebration. For the price, we likely could have had a better time somewhere else.
Everything we had was wonderful, as usual! Service was superb. Love it there!
Steaks were excellent. Service was amazing... a team of waiters. And the cake... get the cake or the cotton candy.
Nick and Sam's is amazing! If you want an 8 pound crab, shrimp from Madagascar, Chateaubriand, or another perfect cut of meat or seafood - then this is your place. The only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars on the food is because my Tomahawk steak was overcooked the first time I got it and then undercooked the second time and I wasn't able to eat at the same time as the other 6 in our group. This is not normally my experience though. They also have a gluten free menu and that was very helpful for me.
Food and Service is always amazing at Nick & Sam's. Highly recommend the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Bang Bang Broccoli. Nicole was a wonderful and attentive server and had excellent recommendations.
The 10 oz Fillet was amazing! You could cut it with a fork.
Great atmosphere, great venue. Large menu, very expensive but most importantly the steaks are VERY dry. Very disappointing
You would be hard pressed to find a better steakhouse anywhere in America. I've had the pleasure to visit a lot of really great one's, but Nick & Sam's deserves a spot right near the top of my list. The Chateaubriand I shared with a friend was the best I've ever had. To be fair, I usually get my own steak and I've only done Chateaubriand a few times, but this one was a just plain amazing cut of beef. Nicely done, guys. Elizabeth, our server, was impeccable, had a great sense of humor, and had excellent suggestions. She came across as a true veteran, even though she had only been there six months. Says a lot about how well they train their staff. All in all, a near-perfect night. My only complaint is that the main dining room is a little on the loud side. Hard to give them a hard time about it, though. It just means that everyone was enjoying their meal as much as I was.
The food was awesome and so was the waiter! We were pleasantly surprised when the kobo beef came out, it was delicious!
My wife and I visit quite often for anniversaries and birthdays. Almost 5 years now. For paying michelin star prices you would expect the service to be consistent and very attentive. This time service was a bit under par compared to their previous years. We had to wait quite sometime for the check and to receive the dessert menu. The restaurant was not very busy tonight either. Also it seems theyre being stingy this time around and no longer give a free dessert for birthdays nor give cotton candy for free, which usually makes the birthday person feel more special . previous years, they would always give a free dessert and it would always make us love the restaurant more and feel they really value us coming for our special occasions. Money is not the issue, but more of how they consistently value their long time diners. To show their customers, thank you for coming on your special day and celebrating with us. We will make you guys feel special tonight! Our friends usually go to, but will have to rethink our future plans.
