- GGeorgiaNewcastle and Northumberland •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoWe had such a great time at Blackfriars doing the Creole and All That Jazz cooking course! Josh was fantastic! He was so knowledgeable and engaging, explaining everything really clearly and making the whole experience fun and enjoyable. The food was delicious, the recipes were easy to follow, and Josh was really supportive when we were practising the different techniques, making sure we felt comfortable giving everything a go. Chloe was also brilliant and so attentive throughout the evening, making sure we always had drinks, keeping everything tidy and packing up our food ready for the next course. It really made the whole experience feel relaxed and well looked after. We had a brilliant evening, learnt some new skills and ate some amazing food. Would definitely recommend! Thanks so much to Josh and Chloe for making it such a lovely experience. I've already recommended it to everyone I work with!More infoBlackfriars Restaurant££££• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.6

We both had the fixed price menu which is incredible value for such wonderful food. Fish rillettes with tasty garnishes and crusty rolls they make themselves, tender steak with flavourful gravy and perfectly cooked coley for our mains, a side of hot and tasty cauliflower cheese, and a fruit compote that distilled the flavours of autumn with a hint of mulled wine. It takes a lot of time and skill to produce a meal of such a high standard and I don’t know anywhere else that could make such great food at such an affordable price. The calm atmosphere and attractive surroundings add to a lovely experience and the service is always so professional. Thank you, Bouchon, and we’ll be back soon!More infoBouchon Bistrot - Hexham££££• French• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8

Everything was perfectly cooked, with a delicious range of vegetables and superb gravy. Desserts are fantastic too, if you have room for one. The food was served promptly, the staff are friendly, attentive and professional. It's a wonderful pub and restaurant, with stunning views and a good selection of drinks. They have created a relaxing and calm space for couples, families and larger groups to enjoy excellent food. We have been dining here for over 12 years now, and their standards are consistently high. We would highly recommend this as a great place to eat at any time of day. Thank you.More infoDuke of Wellington Inn££££• Gastro Pub• Newton•4.6
