Food was really tasty, but the service was a bit slow... Monday evening, there's was roughly 4-5 tables of 2 at the time, and since we sat down and ordered we had to wait for an hour for the food to arrive... We also had to wait for drinks as well... More

Don't be put off from the outside. I guess this place is the perfect quintessential hidden gem. Four of us went there on a Tuesday night, so we had the restaurant to ourselves. Two fussy eaters, and two who enjoy a challenge. We were all very pleased! The duck confit was the best he had, so the girls also ordered it to share, and devoured every scrap. That was after lovely starters. I had the chicken in tomato-based sauce and boiled potatoes, which I found disappointing. Thin slices of chicken which lacked flavour, and the tomato sauce needed to cook for another hour or so: bland. But that won't deter me: I saw lots of other dishes I want to try. The menu changes regularly, and so we will be back ... soon. We really appreciated the staff meeting our requests, when we only arrived at about 9.15. We had a lovely evening, enjoyed by all. Give it a go, it's reasonably priced, of a high standard, and the atmosphere is what you make of it. Thanks Lavanda. More
