Musso & Frank Grill
Always love you guys. We came late on a Sunday so you were out of prime rib and roast lamb. No big deal. Service was good but not over the top good. Again, a late Sunday so no reflection on your usual excellence. I got the lamb chops as a substitute for the roast and the chef gave me an extra chop. However, they were all really fatty chops more fat than meat. Dont know what happened there but it was somewhat surprising. Overall we had a great time and will be back.
Food, service, and venue are all excellent. Iconic place on Hollywood Blvd is a must visit in the area.
Food was good, Service was ok, place is old school with very small booths (not comfortable for 4 adults). Bigger issue is parking - it's a mess around the back of the place. We got there a little early and had cocktails while waiting for our friends -
- ended up being there for 10 minutes past their limit for $5 dollar parking - They charged us $20 instead - not happy- you'd think they would have a little leniency for folks who spent time at their establishment and spent a considerable amount of $$$ as well!
Very good good and drinks. The front desk is perfect but the newer waiters do not carry the customer service level that Musdo is known for. I will always come back because the food is good. Not happy about the scaled down service and lack of customer service from the new.er waiters
It's a must-go because it is such a Hollywood treasure and classic food. Once you get past that, things don't shine so brightly. The service was very slow and it wasn't busy at 5:30pm. Our dirty dishes sat on the table for 15 mins after we finished. No pepper for the salad. Had to ask for it. My dish was cold, the veal, and so was my moms, the Chicken Parm. The second round of drinks came almost at the end of eating dinner even though we had ordered them before the food came. Food wasn't that flavorful but I wasn't really expecting to be blown away by it. Will I go back? Yes. Soon? No.
The food was amazing (we had filet mignon and veggies). However, the place and service were not up to par. It took us more than an hour to be served. The waiter seem “too busy” and would not give us any attention. The place is super noisy which makes it hard t hard to hold a conversation.
My nieces were visiting from New York, my sister was visiting from Washington DC, my mom and dad we’re also celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary. It was pretty amazing! We love to go there, the ambience is fabulous, it’s old-school, history! Musso and Frank Grill is celebrating their 100 year anniversary
Alex was our server last night, we always have an amazing time!
Fooooooood is amazing! Steaks prepared in a 100 year old grill🤪❤️❤️❤️
Service was outstanding, which is what you would expect based on their reputation, it's just rare when it's actually accurate. Everything was ate was delicious- rib eye cap especially good. Hope to come back soon!
If you want to take a ride on a time machine, and experience the way "old Hollywood" used to dine, Musso & Frank will surely take you there. This Hollywood landmark just celebrated it's 100 year anniversary and not a great deal (with the exception of price of course) has changed. They have managed to keep this gold mine restored, rather than updating it or changing it in any significant way. The menu offers items, many from years ago, that you won't find at any other restaurant in Los Angeles. And, the food is ALWAYS outstanding, cooked and flavored to perfection. They are most know for their steaks, chops and roasts, but everything on the menu is great. I believe they are the only bar left that still offers a "side car" when you order a Martini. The staff is awesome, friendly and always knowledgeable about the menu. They are not inexpensive, but you do get the quality that you pay for. By far, has and will most likely always be, my favorite restaurant in LA.
Haven't been here in 20 years and I can tell you that it will never be that long again. The food was spectacular, we loved our waiter. Everything was absolutely perfect. Will be back again soon!
Great spot serving traditional American meals. Outstanding service and fantastic people watching.
I have been a regular customer for over 20 yrs, I was truly disappointed with the overall quality of the food. I ordered the Saturday special, short ribs, they were served floating in "brown" gravy that tasted like it came from a jar, with an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes and diced peas/carrots. Basically, the food resembled cafeteria food served on thick white plates. My fellow guests ordered the prime rib, which was served warm not hot, the hollandaise sauce was cold and the steamed asparagus was very bland. To add insult to the horrible meals, when the bill arrived we were shocked to see the sticker price of the "short rib", $41.00! Although we have always seen this restaurant as a high end, special occasion restaurant, it is sad to see the decline in the quality of food. In my opinion the restaurant is sustaining off it's prior years reputation, and is more focused on attracting the tourists and Hollywood hype....have no intention of returning!
Great dinner date before a nigh at the Pantages. Old Hollywood vibe. Lots of history. The daily specials are a excellent choice.
We came early and were seated immediately while waiting for the remainder of our party. Waiter was there immediately with water and asking for drink order. Food was delicious.
Bryan provided excellent service. Our fillets were absolutely perfectly cooked and flavorful. Love the au jus and green peppercorn sauces that accompanied. Thank you!
Outstanding in every way. Can’t wait to go back
We love Musso & Frank for pre-theatre dining! The old-time Hollywood atmosphere is wonderful, the menu is extensive, the food delicious, the service outstanding. Our waiter was attentive and bent over backwards to accommodate our requests. We don’t like to have more than one drink before attending a performance but you can get any cocktail you can think of and there is a very good menu of wines by the glass. Musso & Frank is becoming our go to choice for pre-Pantages plays.
Great food and service. LA traffic caused us to be late, but managed to sit in front of the grill while Jose was working his magic. It’s because of this, we decided to order the French cut lamb chops, and my oh my how wonderful they were. Definitely will be going back!
Amazing staff. True professionals.
Menu has been updated and food was great.
Great experience. Incredible food
Nicholas was a great server. 👍🏼👍🏼. For the price I enjoyed everything. Food/service/Drinks on point.
Des quantités ridicules.
Une salade cesar...avec uniquement de la laitue et des croûtons de pain. Une honte.
A éviter absolument
This restaurant was recommended by my brother-in-law. It did not disappoint!!! From entering the restaurant to departing, it was a wonderful experience. Musso and Frank Grill is celebrating their 100th anniversary, so they must be doing something right. They have a friendly staff. Our waiter, Boris, was excellent. I asked him some questions about the menus and he directed us in the right direction. My husband’s filet was perfectly cooked. The Caesar salad was so big, it would be fine to split it. At our waiters recommendation, we shared the caramelized banana, peanut brittle, vanilla ice cream sundae. It was so good!!! I’m looking forward to eating at this restaurant again!!!
Still great after all these years! A tourist destination but also a very cool hang.
Musso and Frank Grill is not only a great dinning experience, but a historical one as well. This restaurant is one of the favorite haunts of some of our most talented movie stars of both the past and the present. my only recommendation would be that you find parking off site somewhere at a flat rated lot. I valet parked my vehicle in the lot in back of Musso and Frank expecting to only pay around $5.00 for parking, but ended up paying $20.00 instead.
Tourist trap relying on its history. Steaks are decent but not worth what they charge.
Great historic Hollywood restaurant. Service is perfect. Food is amazing (we had filet mignon and the lobster thermidor - both excellent). It's pretty noisy (in the front room, anyway) but still very nice. We'd love to return.
Service was great. Only place in town that serves sweetbreads that I know of. Delicious! The cottage fries are terrific.
Great experience as always! Service from Brian was super. Meal was delicious. Ambiance/vibe was just what we wanted and have come to expect.
Best martinis and steaks in town. Outstanding service.
Old Hollywood for sure. We arrived on time for our 8:00 reservation on a very busy Saturday night and they seated us right away. Our server was very friendly and we didn't feel rushed at all. Food, drinks, service were all very good. Huge wine selection with decent sized pours. Caesar salad was yummy, as was the spicy pasta dish we shared. Crème brulee was the perfect size to share too. It was extremely loud, but other than that, it was a lot of fun! We'll definitely go back. Next time will try a steak or prime rib -- those seemed to be the popular dishes ordered around us.
I love Musso & Frank. Always reliable.
Our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles.
Excellent. Lived up to its reputation. Worth it. Ambience was great and food was excellent.
Would encourage the waiters to talk a bit about the history!
It is one of my favorite places to go. The steaks, ambiance, and service are very good. On the weekends it can get a little noisy but the food makes it worthwhile. The old Los Angeles vibe is still very much in evidence. The fact that they have their own parking lot right off Hollywood Blvd. makes parking a breeze. Left to take people there that want to experience this old Hollywood vibe
The food was too salty.
Would not recommend this place to friends or family.
Ordered a medium rare ribeye. First one was well done. Second one rare. Asked me if I wanted to try a third, are you kidding me. Seriously this was my birthday dinner at The Musso and Franks. The manager didn't seem to really care. "Mistakes happen" I believe is a direct quote. We will never be back, too many good choices in LA.
I had a Martini. Small and not chilled enough. My steak was cooked as she asked.
Skip the creamed spinach, not very creamy.
Bottom line, $52 steaks one ok, the other bad. Sides, very pricey and subpar.
One bright side, dinner salad was okay. But was all lettuce.
We arrived on Saturday night of the 6th on July 4 weekend for our reservation at 5:30pm. It’s a good thing too...it was bustling. And everything was just perfect. Had a great time and then hot footed it over to the Egyptian Theater to see Lawrence of Arabia in 4K — 3 1/2 hours long. Really glad we had espressos after dinner!
