It was a perfect place to have a quality meal in quiet environment.
Great experience. Food was tasty and delicious.
Valentine’s Day dinner was fabulous. So many different flavors and great presentation. Service was wonderful.
I made a reservation for dinner at the last minute when my boss let me know he'd be available for a meal and was looking for somewhere walkable from our hotel, and Morrison-Clark worked out very well. It is more upscale than I was expecting so we were a little under-dressed, but it wasn't an issue. The food (we both ordered the salmon entree) was EXCELLENT, and the prices were very reasonable by District standards. I would definitely return, and I know that my boss really enjoyed it and plans to return, as well.
Had a surprisingly wonderful 2.5 hour brunch at the Morrison Clark Inn restaurant. It was elegant, quiet and delicious too with wonderful service. I highly recommend taking the time if you want a peaceful place to dine.
The menu needed editing. The description of the items did not match definitions. However our server was able to clarify what was actually available. It was empty for a Friday night but food was superb!
We went out for dinner based on a recommendation from a friend. It was very quiet. We were the only ones there for a while and then a group of 6 came in.
The food was mixed, with the crab cake entre being a little iffy. The salad and baked brie were good and the service was excellent.
The prices were very reasonable for a nice sit-down restaurant in DC.
Morrison-Clark is a gem. Crab cake sandwich has no filler...just crab! What a treat. Great place to have a quiet lunch. Valet parking was at no charge since we were eating at the restaurant. Service is wonderful and unobtrusive. I have only good things to say about Morrison-Clark.
Love this restaurant! The Restaurant Week menu is delicious (I had coconut shrimp and the burger-both were yummy). Service as always was impeccable
The rose cava was delicious
Can’t wait for next time
We went for restaurant week. The selection was good. I had coconut shrimp as an appetizer and a Morrison Clark burger, topped off by chocolate truffle cake with raspberry sorbet. The food was delicious! My companion had. Caesar salad and the salmon. The food presented well and was scrumptious! The service was solicitous. I would definitely go back to try the rest of the menu.
Okay service, not great.
Usually better. I enjoy going there for breakfast meetings.
Amazing hidden gem. Will return.
Food was delicious and service was top notch!
Wonderful food and ambiance!!
One of Washington's most lovely gems of a restaurant. Beautiful and delectable in an elegant private setting with history and modern elegance. Perfect for a small gathering, special occasion or before the theater.
NYE dinner was very nice. The food was delicious. We had crab dip as an appetizer. Yummy. I had the shrimp and grits and my daughter had pork tenderloins. Both very tasty. The drinks were expensive $12 each and our choices for dessert were not available. That’s 2 desserts out of about 5. Disappointing. Service was very good - they seem to use the team approach to serving. Will go again.
I thought the vegan option tasted like someone dumped a can of beans in a bowl. The caprese salad was great. My husband's meat dish was mediocre. There was very quiet music playing, almost inaudible and it was New Year's Eve and the atmosphere really lacking. There were no specials on the menu.
Oh dear. We had high hopes. We had Christmas Day dinner with a prix fixe menu. The waitstaff person did not arrive at our table for quite a while, but once there, service was timely and smooth. I would guess that there were not enough waitstaff on duty. Appetizers and rolls were fine. We both had the fish entree crusted with nuts (hazelnuts?), and it was overcooked. The nuts were quite browned and the whole item was tasteless. The white fish itself was so overcooked that it went to fish mush in our mouths. Having done that myself years ago, I know what I'm talking about. I would guess that it was pre-cooked and cut into portions to be heated again as needed. The dessert was a slice of a torte with a little scoop of ice cream beside and was quite nice. Cocktails were great and wine list was fine.
This was an exquisite holiday dining experience by Morrison Clark. I have dined there many times before and took advantage of dining there Christmas day with my two adult children. Everything was perfect and the staff at the restaurant made it special. Hopefully this dining experience will happen again next Christmas day.
Great Christmas dinner with family.
Excellent food in a quiet elegant setting. Will surely return.
This restaurant is elegant and warm an quiet - just right if you want to have a conversation. While I di not like the clam chowder (watery, tasted like a mix) the rest of the meal was great and my lunch mates were all satisfied with their choices. I give this restaurant a 5 - because the overall experience was so great. I've already booked a table at this restaurant twice!
Wonderful setting, staff, and meal! Great spot for holiday brunch for the women of our book club. So appreciated the ability to conserve along a large table.
Very nice room. Innovative food which was quite good. Unfortunately a table of 8 extremely loud, crude, and rude diners ruined dinner for everybody in the room. Staff did nothing to address this.
If it wasn't for the extremely loud party of 9 inebriated adults in the dining room, the dinner would have been perfect. The salad I ordered was fantastic with an A1 presentation. Their gelato was out of this world too. Would definitely go back.
Great. Everyone thoughtful and helpful.
Morrison-Clark restaurant is a quiet gem! This is my go to place for dates, meetings, family gatherings, and more. The best kept secret in DC.
Eating breakfast before I went to my training
Delicious food, beautifully presented. The “adult beverages “. we’re great. Attentive staff . The dining room was well designed and invited quiet conversation. Reasonable prices. Worth the trip!
We had thanksgiving with friends with good food and company. Service was friendly and courteous. Since it’s winter, coats and jackets should be offered to be coat checked before being seated. Overall, presentation of the food was nice and service was very attentive.
This restaurant is DC's best kept secret. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the food is nothing short of haute cuisine.
A nice get-together
Morrison-Clark Restaurant is a fabulous elegant and reasonably priced gem of high quality food and service. I dine here often, and I am never disappointed. Every time I bring a colleague who has not been there before, the colleague is always so impressed and thanks me for introducing the restaurant.
Loved the lamb chops food was excellent
Hard to find the entrance to the hotel. Service was ok but we were forgotten for a long stretch of time and then told the dessert we wanted would take a long time to prepare
This was a birthday dinner and we were very pleased. The atmosphere is luxerious but relaxed. The food was very very good. And we had a great conversation with our waiter and the gentleman at the next table. This is the perfect place for a special occasion or for catching up with friends and family -- when you want to relax and be able to talk and hear each other.
Love Morrison-Clark. The food is excellently prepared and presented like a work of art. Service is timely but not over-bearing. Drinks are well-crafted ad served at the right temperature, plus a wine list that will please most anyone. The dining room is perfect for that person you want to impress or that person who has made an impression on you...excellent décor, quiet and immaculate. Price...the quality overrides the cost but it is not expensive. Best kept dining experience in all of DC.
Food was good but it was disappointing to wait an hour for our meal on a slow Thursday night
It is a fine breakfast but the service was a little slow. A better option for a business meeting than the other hotels around though because it is a quiet room.
Nice historic building with quiet dining room, but it has clearly seen better days. Menu needs a significant overhaul to update and compete with modern dining experiences.
