Great neighborhood seafood spot. Flounder was the star of the show.
The restaurant is small but the service is amazing so is the food.
The food tasted fresh and delicious!
Great food and once we were seated the service was excellent. I was a little irked we had to wait 30 minutes for another party to clear the table after they had paid. It’s hard to manage this situation, but I would have appreciated the staff being more proactive in offering a drink or snack while we waited. We had to ask specifically for this after the second apology, which they were happy to do, so that’s a plus I just wish we didn’t have to come across as pushy by asking. Overall, Montlake Cut serves up excellent seafood in a quaint, warm environment. Our wait was likely a fluke given past experiences here, so my rating will remain high.
Love this place! Great atmosphere, food and service.
It was great!
The food is wonderful , fresh & well prepared, although we did have an issue with a side dish of potatoes au gratin as they were not as expected. We kindly let the waiter know we were not pleased with the dish & basically he did nothing. How easy would it have been for him to offer to switch it to something else? Also felt very rushed by waiter, like he was eager for us to move on so he could turn the table. The restaurant is very noisy & it was also hard to understand the waiter. Food great, experience less than stellar.
Waited 25 minutes with a reservation. We both had babysitters and had wanted to go out for a drink afterwards which we didn’t get to do due to waiting a half hour to sit and just general
The food was good. It wasn’t outstanding. For the price - eh. Bread and butter would have been nice. When comparing to town hearth or NHS it doesn’t compete.
This was our first time to go to Montlake Cut after hearing great reviews. The interior of the restaurant was not what I was expecting at all. From the outside it looks kind of boring but inside it is casual and energetic with all tables full and a waiting line. We got seated immediately with our reservation. The wine was very good and service also. The crab fried rice was super flavorful but very fishy smelling. The crab cake appetizer was not very good. Thumbs up for the Hamachi appetizer. We will definitely go back and order something different.
Enjoyed the food, however the explanation of the various options of food was not sufficient.
Debbie is our most favorite server and we love Mindy up front too!
Halibut was spectacular!
After several business lunch’s we’ve concluded the food is overpriced. Especially, the crab cake sliders. I’m from Florida and it was $17 of pretzel bread and breaded crab cakes, but no crab could be identifiable. However, the Mac and cheese was delicious.
As always great food at Montlake Cut.
My husband had the fish and chips, perfect.
I had the noodles special - Nantucket Bay scallops with a tomato sauce. Simply extraordinary.
The Shrimp cocktail was a hit with my friend. I enjoyed the sole Milanese. The asparagus & cauliflower were good. The Brussels sprouts were very goopy & sweet. All in all a very good meal.
Enjoyed everything! The food, the drinks and the service!
great food, service and ambiance always! Bartenders are great!
Our server for the evening was a favorite server from the now closed NHS Preston Royal.
Montlake Cut was wonderful. The setting and decor of the place is eye catching. The food was AMAZING! It was probably the best seafood I have every had! We left out of there soooo full, which is never a bad thing. I cant wait to go back.
All food & service excellent with I exception...
The Red Fish main course was below your standards.
We enjoy your restaurant and hope you can address this in the future.
If this was my first time at the restaurant, I wouldn’t go back. We had a dinner with our friends - that was their first time there and we had told them so many good things about the place, since it’s kind of a hidden gem and it’s actually in their neighborhood. My wife and I go there a lot for lunch, this was however our first dinner experience. We’ve never been so rushed by the staff like tonight, from the start to the end, the waitress just couldn’t wait to be done with us. The fish was severely overcooked and half the sides didn’t come out until we were almost done with our meal. Hopefully this was a fluke cause usually the service and food is on point.
Food was outstanding
The food was excellent as usual, and our waitress was very knowledgeable on dietary restrictions!
On of our favorite restaurants in Dallas now. My spouse always believed that she did not like seafood, but she loves the food at Montlake Cut!
Loud. Tables are small and crowded
Food service and drinks were great
Montlake Cut has very fresh seafood. While the menu items are a bit pricey, the quality makes the experience worth the cost. The restaurant is very small, so make sure that you have a reservation or don't mind eating at the bar.
Food was just ok and overpriced for the quality.
Being from seattle this restaurant always makes me feel like home! Love the seafood and all the decor
Montlake Cut is one of our favorite places and never fails to deliver an outstanding meal. It’s a great atmosphere and never too loud.
Great food. Great service. Just a bit pricey. I get this is the way of the world of dining. Yet, it's a bit of a turn off to go other than so ething like New Year's Eve.
Great New Year's eve dinner with girlfriend who has special dietary needs. The server and kitchen took care of her allergies without issue. Wonderful experience and we will be back. It is a little pricey, but worth it.
Fabulous!! Ate at the bar and Alex took great care of us!! So did Sara!!!
Way too expensive. Service is/was excellent. Nice place. Crab fried rice is a hit. Clam chowder too thin. Branzino was terrific.
Great seafood. A nice addition to the neighborhood.
What's not to like about Montlake Cut, especially a leisurely lunch over a fine glass of wine, some whole Branzino and the best mac and cheese in town? What a great restaurant!
Food was fantastic, although portions were small for the price. Atmosphere was perfect, waitress was delightful - overall a fun dining experience. We will go back!
Delicious & cute ambiance! Its very seaside seattle decor plus friendly service. The ceviche & sole were soooo good!!! Definitely would recommend checking it out
Just discovered this place and absolutely loved it! Andrea was an excellent and attentive server and the food was very good!
Very fresh oysters. Both Branzino and Shrimp pasta specials were great!
Holiday meal with family
