*Best seafood in Dallas! Period...
Ran into a local celebrity, def telling friends about our new seafood place!
Ordered the scallops. The "charred tomato brown butter" was just plain weird. Side veggies were so so. My husband's fish & chips had soggy fries. Overall, not bad but not great, and not much value.
Enjoyed the oysters, a salad and the cauliflower side dish. Tried the cucumber lemonade and found it so tart we sent it back and stayed with water. Service was very good and the staff was extremely attentive to gluten free concerns.
The food is consistently good and the service is always warm and personal. We have always enjoyed our experiences at this restaurant. Dallas is not the easiest city to find great seafood and at Montlake Cut, they always deliver great food and a reasonable wine list.
Everything was great, Food, and service ,we celebrated a friends Birthday.
A bit disappointed they did not comp a little desert for the birthday girl. Most nice restaurants do and since the bill for 3 people at lunch was over $200.00 it would have been a nice jester..
This was our first time to dine @ Montlake Cut. They came highly recommended. I told waiter I do not eat tomatoes. I noticed scallops stated they were seared tomatoes. Waiter assured me tomatoes were not on dish, just cooked on grill together. When meal arrived, scallops were soaked in tomatoes and laying on a bed of cooked tomatoes. I had to move my scallops to a dry plate and try to enjoy my meal. This was a business dinner. Three of us at the table. Four glasses of wine and business dinner. After the meal, the waiter kept pushing for us to pay and leave. I felt uncomfortable with his lack of ethics. He didn’t refill my tea because he wanted us to leave. This is a fabulous restaurant and high end pricing. We should feel comfortable enjoying a meal and relaxing in conversation.
Scallops were very disappointing! Hope this helps you train your staff!
Always a great choice and service was outstanding
It was great as always! My favorite place for fish.
muzak is not necessary in such a small venue otherwise this is a great find will be back
Came back to MC even though our food--for the first time ever, was not good last time. Milanese was dry and crab not fresh. this time it did not disappoint. We went at 630 on Friday and be the time we left we could not hear each other but the food and service were good.
Temperature was extremely hot. Server was a little overbearing and hurried our meal.
The whole branzino is delicious
Great meal and great service. Awesome meal
Perfect anniversary experience
All the dishes we ordered were excellent including the desserts.
The only problem was that it was very warm inside and the music was super loud. The acoustics is not very good and it was very hard to have a conversation there.
It was so hot in the restaurant.
The food was delicious! The waiter was accommodating and attentive. Our reservation was early 5:30pm and reservations are highly recommend due to small intimate setting. Around 6:30 the place filled up with a small amount of guest waiting which made it very warm inside. We asked if they could adjust the thermostat. Other than that the evenings was perfect!
Almost always good. Quite pricey. Fish tacos are best value and consistently great tasting. Yesterday's "boat catch" special was Alaskan salmon. Great tasting but really small portion. Grilled asparagus and sweet potatoes are excellent sides. Enjoy!
Good, but not the best seafood in town.
Huge fan of Town Hearth and was of Montlake...Server was overworked too many tables. Been there three times and loved it but this was a very mediocre experience. Clam chowder tasted quite off.
Received service like we were second class. Big spenders at the next table.
Food was delicious! Great service. A great place to celebrate our daughter’s 25th birthday.
Food superb. Great service. Love this place.
Outstanding as always. The best.
There’s just something so appealing about this place. I love the vibe, the decor, the coziness, the drinks, and of course the food. I’ve had the sea scallops on two occasions and they are perfect. I’m now obsessed with the browned butter and charred tomato sauce and hope to reverse engineer it at home. My husband ordered the Alaskan King salmon which was one of the fish of the day features. It was on the small end portion wise—especially at nearly $40. He loves the fish and chips and wished, after the fact, that he had ordered that instead at about half the price. But the rest of our recent meal was just lovely—from the rum Old Fashioned to the little rum cake dessert. Montlake. Cut is more of a special occasion restaurant for us, and we always look forward to our next visit.
Waiter aggressive. Food mixed. Expensive. Noisy. Patron slipped and fell. Still, ambience good. Maybe I hit it on an off night.
always great ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Nice atmosphere, good wine selection, West coast type seafood set up
Excellent service and food. Wonderful experience from beginning to end.
We have been here several times and love the food
This time service was off or else i would have given it 5stars
Best seafood in Dallas! This was our third time to Montlake and won't be our last. The fresh oysters are phenomenal.
Very good. Food and service are outstanding.
As always...great food and great service!
Great taste & service but specials are overpriced. Add sides to a special & wine - you have a $70 meal....
great drinks, George our waiter was awesome, really enjoyed it.
One and done. Got there a few minutes early and the bar was so packed there was nowhere to stand. It was awkward and uncomfortable. Hardly inviting.
We had an 8:15 reservation and weren’t seated until almost 9. Had to fight your way through to try and order a drink while then standing over people eating their meals at the bar. Awkward. When we were finally seated — at by far the worst table — we Weren’t offered drinks or an app to offset the wait or awkwardness. Nothing.
Service wasn’t impressive — we felt rushed the entire time. Like all they wanted to do was turn our table. Yet there weren’t any parties waiting. It was noisy - hard to hear each other talk.
We were there for my boyfriend’s birthday. While they did put a candle, We paid for the dessert. Overall disappointing location for a birthday dinner.
Food was good not great. Portion size on the smaller side. Simply not a good value.
Consider Gemma for your next celebration dinner. Excellent service and food. Plus a wonderful experience where it felt like they were celebrating with us.
