I’ve never eaten at Monticello before and it was the only reservation we could get last Saturday night and what a stroke of luck it was. The food was perfect from the appetizers to the mains to the desserts. We loved it! The waitress was terrific and we felt totally safe. Cannot wait to go back!!

Dining is outdoor only at the moment. Tables are nicely spaced apart. Our waitress was friendly, helpful , and very courteous. We spoke to the owner and she was very nice and approachable. Food was delicious. Good portions. You could tell the ingredients were fresh. The bread came out warm each time. Prices are inline with similar restaurants in Red Bank. It is BYOB so you can save a few dollars on alcohol. It was our first time dining there, but we will definitely be back.

First time at Monticello and we came for Father’s Day and sat outside (due to indoor dining covid regulations). The food was absolutely amazing and so was the service. Our server Amanda was so awesome - very professional, but also really kind and funny. She also gave great recommendations as it was our first time there. It was really calm and quiet for being out on the sidewalk. We will definetly return!

Came here after a show at Two River and the menu was extensive and there were TWO different price fixe menus to pick from as well. Amber was our server and she was very attentive and efficient and funny. I love when a server has a sense of humor because dealing with hungry people can be challenging sometimes! I had the seafood over risotto and it was amazing. BYOB which I prefer. A delicious dinner for 3 people including tip for around $130 in a nice atmosphere! You can't beat it!

Where do I begin? First, I've been here several times but not within the past 4 or 5 years. When did it get worse?

First, let me say that our wait person was terrific. She attended to our every request. But that's the high point of the experience.

The food was very so so. My partner's Seafood Arrabbiatta was very bland - almost no flavor except for the added pepper from the pepper mill. We had this same dish in a restaurant in Princeton about 2 weeks ago. The difference was like night and day. Too bad Princeton is not around the corner.

Quoting from their website: "The mission is simple: serve delicious, affordable food that guests will want to return to week after week."

So much for the "delicious."

As to the "affordable:" my dish was the swordfish special. At $49 for a small cut of fish, I could hardly say that was "affordable." Probably a little more flavorable than my partner's Arrabbiata but almost at twice the price.

Service ok. Food not. What do you go for? In the end for me, it's the food. And this was the end of my visits to Monticello. Will not want to return "week after week" or any other time.

One of our frequent restaurants in the area, the food was okay this time not great as it usually is, we ordered the Seafood Arabiatta and the special of the day Sword Fish Grilled. We both felt it was not the usual as it was a bit dry and it needed some flavor the seafood it was bland and my wife's sword fish she felt it was just okay. We will come back again and give it another try for sure as we would not want to loose this good BYOB restaurant in Monmouth County from our regulars by lack of quality and consistency.

My wife and I just started going there Meagan was our server she is truly a rock star. The place is quaint and the feel is very cozy. The prixe menu is awesome you will leave hungry and the presentation is the same as the regular menu so there is no bait and switch here it’s top notch all the way

Ive been there a few times. Food is good, service not great. Long wait to be served and they ran out of chicken parmigiana on a Saturday night! Food is okay and its very loud. No reason to go back.

My wife and I went on Valentines Day. Table was waiting for us, restaurant is warm and cozy inside. Service was outstanding, food was delivered promptly but not rushed. Apps and dinner were excellent, I had a fish special that was pricey but delicious. Overall a great dinner.

I wouldn’t go on a special occasion like Valentines. The owner added tiny tables for 2 that didn’t fit our dishes and table placed near the busiest area. Just didn’t feel good.., felt tight and noisy. Music too low and all you heard were waiters running back and forth. The host had a worried face like something was wrong. We didn’t feel a nice and warm welcome. Very disappointed.

I have been to Monticello several times. I love it. The service is great. The food is very good. The pre fixed menu on Sunday includes salad, dessert and a selection of entrees. Can't beat the food, price and being in downtown Red Bank. We usually park about a block away in a public lot.

Outstanding experience! Our server Amanda was top notch. She was friendly, attentive, and had a good sense of humor. To our surprise they had two 3 course price fixed menus ($20 and $35), that contained a very large variety of choices! This is offered every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with nice background music. Looking forward to our next visit to this wonderful gem of a restaurant.

It was our anniversary & hubby/I brought our teenagers to celebrate dinner with us this time. My husband & kids were so incredibly impressed with the wide menu selection & when their meals arrived - all they kept saying to me was “we need to come back here every week”! I totally agree - the best food, ambiance & always really nice waitstaff. Our waiter even surprised us with a candle in our dessert, completely unprompted yet he knew it was our anniversary from our reservation. LOVE this restaurant & cannot wait to return soon!!

We had an amazing experience at Monticello. This is a nice restaurant with a great menu. Portion sizes were generous. Make sure you save room for the banana and Nutella crepes. You will not be sorry. Our server Amanda made us feel welcome. We will be returning to Monticello!

Food: the BEST lobster bisque I've ever had, I will go back just for that alone. Stuffed chicken very bland, Notre Dame shrimp superb. Ambience very nice, prices normal for Red Bank. The bread and butter, yum! Service good. But like I said the chicken at almost $30 was a disappointment. However, will go back to try others.

What a fantastic place in every respect. The owner who has complete control of this restaurant and its menu, is also the hostess and of course she is from Sicily. From the minute we walked into the restaurant we felt like we were home. Everything is homemade, authentic, and fruit. What an incredible dining experience. This is a must go to place in Redbank or anywhere in New Jersey. We will be back very very soon. God bless

Friendly staff, good food, reasonably priced, and BYOB. Lively environment. The prices for specials were not given so I suggest that you ask. They were quite a bit higher than expected. Better to know upfront.

Monticello is my go too when company comes in. Great food, great service. Make a reservation on Friday or Saturday, if not, you will be eating somewhere else. The only down side is the restaurant is noisy. This has never been a problem for me but you do have to speak at a loud tone for your guests to hear you.

Sometimes restaurants over time just go flat but some just get better. Monticello just keeps getting better and better From Appetizers thru its main course and it’s specials there isn’t one weak dish. How good is it ? We opted out of a traditional 7 Fish dinner at home to dine at Monticello on Christmas Eve. It was so good we dined again on 1/3 I love the Shrimps with long hots appetizer and my son loved the clams in tomato sauce while my girlfriend has become addicted to the Burrata. Among the main course us a delicious sea food arrabiata and either Cod, swordfish or Chilean Seabass served grilled or our favorite puttanesca style. Simply delicious. We can also recommend the Osso Buco and I tried the stuffed chicken for the first time and it was as delicious as any Chicken Kiev I’ve had in Russian restaurants in Brooklyn. Leave room for the crepe dessert. It’s BYOB so bring your Pinot! Reasonably priced and so worth the trip. Great service also. Enjoy
