Montalcino Ristorante Italiano
Food excellent as usual, same for the service.
Restaurant now under new ownership, met the new owner, seems committed to maintaining the high levels of quality.
New owner, but still great food and service
Perfect service, fantastic food! I recommend anything with a wild boar sauce.
Such great service and so accommodating to my food allergies. My boyfriend said his meal with the best Italian dish he’s ever had. Spare rib ravioli.
This little restaurant, with its exposed brick wall interior and intimate space was a real treat. The staff was very attentive and food was served timely. My friend ordered the braised beef shank with homemade beef-shank ravioli. It was unbelievably tender and it makes my mouth water just to think of the taste she shared with me. I ordered the Misto Mar - a mixed seafood dish in a light tomato broth. The shrimp, baby clams, octopus and other assorted seafood was perfectly cooked, completely healthy and was very low carb - exactly what I was looking for. It is a little pricy - but absolutely worth it for a celebration. I look forward to returning.
This place is amazing!! They ran out of their amazing fish the night we visited (one of us is a pescatarian) and we decided we would just have drinks and seek dinner elsewhere. And when we communicated our intent, the restaurant found a way to make a fish entree happen. It was fabulous and we thank you so much for enabling a romantic date night!! Date night can’t go wrong here!!
This was our first visit and we were wowed! We never even knew it was here until a coworker recommended it. We now want to come back until we have tried everything on the menu. The Brunello from the family winery was perfect with our dinners and it gave a unique touch to the evening. We can’t wait to come back.
Outstanding dining experience. The service was fantastic, the food superb. We are excited to be a guest again soon.
Really good classic Italian food. It would be nice to see some healthier options, but what they did, they did well.
A nice place to visit. Recommended.
Montalcino is a perfect spot for a nice date or special meal out. It's very small, but charming; service is awesome and food is amazing. Would absolutely recommend!
Nothing on greater Eastside compares for authenticity, ambiance and intimacy. Our favorite!
Wonderful birthday celebration!!! Dinner was outstanding!!!
Excellent food every visit
They made a regular date night feel like a very special occasion.
Amazing food wine and service. The solo singer/guitar player was a nice plus.
The staff were very attentive and helpful. They allowed us to arrive early because they had allowed no more than 1-1/2 hour time-to-dine. Their antipasti, wine and entree recommendations were spot on. And in the end, we were allowed to stay longer because they accommodated their guests at another table. The live music was a bit loud, but a nice touch.
Will not be back. Special was $49.00 a meal, restaurant was stuffy, waitress was robotic, the guy walking around playing guitar was annoying.
Wonderful! Can’t wait to return.
Delicious food as usual
Just family night out
There were 6 of us celebrating my birthday. 3 vegans that their meals noodles and veggies cost $32 a plate. My meal with chicken, blue cheese and noodles was also $32 and mine was much bigger.
Had a child with us that was 12 and we asked about the kids menu. Waitress would not bring that menu said he would not get full. So ended up paying $38 for spaghetti and 2 meatballs.
We had the first seating of the day and were pushed from the time we sat down to order, with the waitress visiting our table every 2 to 3 minutes. Felt very pushed.
Also waitress said I should get dessert since it was my birthday after I said no, then she said I really should have it. I thought it would be on the house! No was charged $12.
The bill for 6 people with a tip that my husband gave ended up over $400....Never Again.
Unique and intimate dining experience with the most delicious pasta, filet, and lobster with cognac sauce. The ONLY Italian restaurant we will go to!
A wonderful experience all around as always
Best Italian in Seattle! Have been coming here for a few years.
Love this place! Highly recommend. I’ve been twice.
Very nice quiet amazing service and authentic food.
This is the place to go for a special night to enjoy great food, music and a glass of wine!
I'll go back because the food and service are excellent. But the wandering guitarist/singer was a bit annoying. When he sings, it makes conversation impossible. Its a small restaurant. A single guitar would be fine, but his boisterous singing of Italian ballads just ruined the ambiance. Tone him down please.
We always enjoy Montalcino. Service is excellent . This time we ordered our favorite dish, Wild Boar sauce with pasta. While it was very nice, the recipe has obviously changed and, to our taste, not as wonderful as it was before.
Lovely - great food!
The food is amazing and service is good. If you plan to have dinner, please know you will be rushed. We certainly were!
Fell in love all over again...with this restaurant!
I fear giving such rave reviews as it’s already a challenge to get reservations but we absolutely love this place and this visit was our best yet!
Thanks Veronica and Miah (sorry if I misspelled)
for making a sweet celebration even more special. We even got two table side serenades from the trovatore
Food is always exceptional and service is on point
We've been a few times before this, but last night they really sealed this place as one of our favorite places to go. Made a reservation online using Open Table and mentioned it was our anniversary. When we arrived, the table was set with rose petals and lovely red flutes. We promptly got a pour of Prosecco and a happy anniversary wish. It made the evening very special for us. Thank you for the little touch. We appreciate it very much! The food was incredible, as always.
Wonderful Italian food--some of the best we've had outside Italy. Attentive wait staff; a live singer; excellent wine; quiet enough for conversation (or not); what's not to love?
Food is really the best you can get on the Eastside. Restaurant is very small with 10 tables, nice, quiet, a little too dark, as they provide small flashlights to read the menu. Did i mention the food is AMAZING? The only thing I take slight exception to is that you have exactly 90 minutes for dinner, and they are hanging you youre check and ushering you out. I knew going in, that this was their policy, so it wasn't a surprise. But I would prefer a traditional Italian meal where you can linger over your food, multiple courses, without being rushed. Here you need to just order a main course, eat and get out. Italian dinner is meant to be savored and enjoyed. 90 min isn't enough. But, did I mention how delicious the food is? Your choice... just know this ahead of time
Thank you for dining at Montalcino. We have a second seating every evening at a reasonable time with no times issues- you may stay as long as you would like. We are a seating restaurant. Our first seating is a of a minimum of 1 hour and 45 (minimum) depending on the party size. We do let everyone know they are welcome to arrive earlier for over 2 hours of seating. Thank you and hope to see you soon Giovanni
We had a fabulous dinner. My braised short ribs tortalino was absolutely divine. Our Caesar salads were delicious, although my husband wished for more dressing. Service was impeccable. We will definelty recommend Montalcino to our friends. Thanks for a wonderful meal and evening!
Montalcino has wonderful food in a romantic setting. I recommend the Salumi Fromaggi plate to start. It is big and easy to share. The linguine Vongole is delicious. Be aware I t has a little kick if you don’t like spicy food. My husband had the ravioli special and said it was gorgeous. Desert wise you can’t go wrong with the tiramisu or canoli.
Like they picked the place up from a cobblestoned walkway in a Tuscan village and trasnplanted it in Issaquah. As close to the genuine articule as we have experienced on the east side. Tiny, romantic, warm. "Worth it" in every way.
