Met a friend for lunch here. It’s been some time since I’ve been to the Milleridge Inn and I wasn’t disappointed. The wait staff was friendly and not smothering as other places are. Rocco was our server and he took good care if us. Our drinks came promptly (lemonade) and we took our time ordering. Lunch consisted of a cobb salad and an angus burger with fries. All tasty and filling. We were able to hold a conversation without background noise interfering. Lunch and the company were both good. Will be coming back again.
Very comfortable, a bit expensive for the buffet option but very lovely decor and food was amazing. Bellinis are nice and strong, Bloody Mary drinks not my favorite but was not too bad. PLenty of parking. Village was open although also pricey but nice to see. Bakery smells great.
Made a reservation for four for dinner on Saturday night before heading to a show at the NYCB Theater at Westbury. We were seated right away and the service was great. Shortly after being seated, we were enjoying cold cocktails and warm pop overs. The appetizers we ordered were terrific and the main courses dee-licious. Two thumbs up!
Since this was a first time for most of us, we were very disappointed. The service was very good. Our waitress. Amber, was excellent. She couldn't have been nicer, but the food was terrible. First of all it arrived luke warm. I ordered turkey. The stuffing had hard dried bread pieces, and the vegetables were terrible. Hard pieces that weren't cooked at all. Mashed potatoes were good and the cranbery sauce was good. The turkey reminded me of Sanson's TV dinner. Mu cousin ordered the turkey also and when it came to the table there was no stuffing.
I ordered the shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and it was delicious!
We had not been to the Millerage in years because of a prior bad experience. However, with the new management in place, we found it extremely wonderful.
Excellent service, terrific food with a variety of options and a serene atmosphere. Just a delight all around.
Really nice atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Very attentive wait staff. Weekly special of 25 3 course was a great value. Overall great experience
Server was courteous helpful Popovers were delicious fish dishes were well seasoned dessert was just right
We took advantage of the prix fixe menu which included a$10 coupon to spend at one of the lovely, quaint shops on the premises. The only problem was that by the time we finished our meal, the shops were closed. So, we'll have to return... not that we needed an excuse to return. Before we left the parking lot, we visited the peacocks and other rescued fowl near the rear building. It was so much fun. What a perfect day. We can wait to return!
Met with my cousin for a dinner, and to our surprise there was a price -fix which was outstanding. We both enjoyed our dinner and for the price it really was outstanding! Looking forward to going back before the summer is out with my husband!
I went to Sunday brunch with two friends. There were so many choices from salads to main courses to desserts. One of my friends loves lobster and shrimp and was very happy that they are unlimited. I will be back. The ambiance is very relaxing. We also enjoyed visiting the shops.
Brian was aware it was our anniversary and offered us complimentry champagne! David our server was extremely helpful and friendly and his recommendations were spot on. A great meal at a reasonable price ! Cant ask for more! Thanks Milleridge staff! We will be back soon !
three people had pot roast dry with little to no gravy had to ask for more waitress very good
Excellent seafood. Salads were good. Hot dishes need improvement. However, at a buffet waiter should only receive a 10% gratuity since they do not bring food to your table. Millridge Inn suggests 15% tip, which I believe is not proper.
Went to brunch for my husband’s birthday. We planned to be there on the early side ( noon) hoping it would not be crowded and we were very pleased. Sadly, it was the hottest day of the year and we couldn’t enjoy the shops. We always enjoy Milleridge!
Food was good, waitress could have been better. Didn’t fill our water glasses entire meal. Waited too long for check. She was obviously more attentive to larger party seated next to us.
Good food but service was very slow, Also their prices continue to increase.
Milleridge Inn decor has been updated and refreshed. While the menu isn't very large, the food is prepared well and the portions are a good size. The signature popovers and cinnamon bread are still served. The staff is very friendly and professional. It was a special occasion and we had a great time.
Very nice had cruise night outside on a Wednesday night. Great service and food was good but a little overpriced.
I had not been here in years, since I moved from LI into NYC. They no longer have staff dressed in period costumes. The staff were friendly and attentive even while 2 private parties were going on at the same time I was eating in the main dining room. ( The parties were in private rooms, so, unless people were arriving or leaving, you would not have known they were there. )
Lamb shank was delicious as well as the stuffed shrimp. They turkey was a little dry, but, I am not a fan of white meat. The fresh veggies were cooked al dente as they should be, and there were plenty on my dish; not just as garnish.
Plan on returning when the shops are open.
Marge made our night beyond perfect! We’ll be back.
There was a skeleton wait staff on. No on really cared about you or your dining experience. The menu was less than expected. We had to wait 10 minutes for the table to be cleared after dinner. And another 10 minutes before our waitress came by to ask if we wanted anything more. Yes-the check and to get the heck out!
Our server was amazing, I am sorry I do not have her name. There were so many choices and the dinning room was pleasant.
Service very good. Food not so much. Appetizers were all good our main courses were just ok. The skirt steak was a little over cooked and very very dried out.
Very disappointing! Went to celebrate a birthday, which was clearly noted on reservation. There was never any mention of the special occasion. That’s the good part. The shops are a joke. The place was empty. The staff said they don’t even stay open till the scheduled time because management makes them close early. We had ice-cream sundaes in the cafe. After they were made, the server stated he had no idea which flavor each one was. We had to use a spoon to push the whipped cream to the side to see the color of the ice cream to figure out the flavors . Next, we tried the florist. Door was locked at 5pm, even though they advertise closing at 6pm. Clerk let us in, but told us we can only look, not buy. Owners told her to close early. The intent was to buy birthday flowers, but they had nothing to sell. The farm was depressing. A bunch of chickens and donkeys stuck behind a fence, looking like they had had enough. We met a couple who said they hang out there often, but only buy coffee. She then warned us about the food and suggested we not eat at the restaurant. She said the food was not great and that we should go elsewhere. She was right! The sauerbraten dinner was fair and the prime rib dinners were overpriced and nothing special. Meat was tasteless. Our first dishes arrived cold and tough and had to be replaced. Menu is very limited and prices are high for what you get. A very disappointing experience. On a positive note, service was good, but even the restaurant staff had a hard time selling the “delicious” food. When we asked one staff member, he said “You may fine a couple of things that are okay”. If we had another place to go, we would have done so.
It is truly a shame to see what happened to Milleridge Inn. We used to visit the shops and restaurant often several years ago. You waited on line, even with a reservation. Now, you can walk in with 40 people and have plenty of unoccupied tables. So sad!
My family went for Father's Day dinner. We made a reservation for 6. My son had to work so he was a few minutes late. We sat down and were immediately told from the waitress and the manager/owner(?) that the kitchen is closing and we need to order our meal right away. They were annoyed that we were waiting for someone. I said you close at 8:30 (says on their website) so I did not understand why the kitchen was closing at 6. I was informed that since it was fathers day they were closing early. I asked why then did you give us a reservation for 6 if the kitchen closes at 6? I did not get a response. I had to order my son's dinner even though he did not show up yet. He showed up at 6:25. I felt like the whole meal was rushed. Been there before with never a problem.
Dined at Milleridge Father’s Day evening. We were still able to partake in the barbecue that was going on. Even though some of the items listed were no longer available, there were plenty of delicious items to choose from. The waitstaff were very attentive and friendly. We had a great time.
Rachel the server was very friendly and on top of her tables, and very quick to respond to our needs. The food was awesome as always and the staff and buffet servers were very friendly . The ambiance is beautiful that's one of the reasons we come here. We really enjoy coming to the milleridge especially on father's day as we celebrate our dad's who are no longer here with the two of us. I'm actually thinking of giving my husband a surprise party here for his 50th birthday. Do I need to say anymore. :)
Thank you again for a glorious day,and fantastic food, and great service.
My dads first Father’s Day since mom past away.
We went to the Milleridge this past Friday evening at 7:00pm and the shops were closed !!! A Friday evening and the dining area was very empty .... the place still has its charm but is also a little depressing of what used to be.
I have been coming to the Milleridge Inn since I was a child and I have to say that the experience was very disappointing. My husband and I wanted to have a nice meal in a quiet area. The food arrived luke warm to cold, the popovers which were always fabulous were cold. My husband ordered a pina colada which tasted like coconut sherbert. We were never offered refills of our water glasses, nor asked if we wanted more bread. The waiter we had was very nice and tried to be accommodating, but the so-called matre d had such an attitude. The food is way over priced for what you get. We dropped $100.00 on 2 entrees and 2 appetizers, no dessert or coffee afterwards. The entrees didnt even come with a salad or anything. They were playing music from the 60's which is not conducive to a colonial atmosphere, nice instrumentals would have been better. I felt the wait staff attire was sloppy, the chairs were so uncomfortable. I could go on but you get the point. Even the manager acted so unprofessional when my husband offered a compliment about our waiter and he said "oh, that guy", what the heck does that mean! We will never go back there again. Sorry Milleridge Inn but you should really rethink your operation.
We have been coming to the Milleridge Inn since 1967 when we first moved to L.I. Now we are living in San Diego and we went to lunch with our family who still live on L.I. As always, we love the Inn.
The menu choices were numerous,, the food was delicious, and David, out waiter, was pittance.
Food and services where great but other help was poor, rude help other then waitress!
Not sure if I would recommend anymore. All the food was over cooked. My wife likes going to the shops outside but they are closed to early. We've been going there for over 25 years and we have seen it dying. Use to love going there but now we are looking for some where new to go
We have been frequenting this restaurant for 20 years. We always had a great experience. Not this time. The manager Terry Wilson was horrendous. He argued with us in front of other guests even though we caught him in a lie. He would not honor our birthday club card and called us liars and said it wss an old card. I understand if things change, but you should try to make it right to the customer. No offer of anything. He said we were perverted! Very poor customer service! We complained to the Dover group and are waiting a response.
Always a favorite after all these years
Onion soup and Salad good.
Pot roast, turkey and chicken dry, not enough gravy. Enjoyed vegetables. Port roast tough.
Best dessert was 7 layer cake.
Glass of wine expensive at $11.
