Mignon - Prime Steaks, Seafood and Cocktails
"We believe the finer things in life are good conversation, great food, and excellent wine. Join us."
My experience here has raised the bar of what is to be expected of a restaurant. The service was BEYOND amazing and accomodating. The food was scrumptious and the ambiance was a whole mood on it's own (that's a good thing). I love this place and recommend it to everyone!
This is absolutely one of the best steak houses in the country! The food and service are always 5-Star and it doesn’t matter what you’re hungry for, they are going to fill your belly!
Extremely poor service from the wait staff and Mignon restaurant as a whole. They wouldn’t refill our drinks without asking for management and did not know any of the specials of the night. The waiter seemed to be on drugs, very forgetful of our food order and brought out multiple wrong drinks and food items. He was also very aggressive and confrontational, which was very upsetting to our table. Mignon was by far the worst dining experience we’ve had in years and wouldn’t return back. Please spend your hard-earned money elsewhere with restaurants with better and friendlier service, a complete waste of $200+ dollars. 0/5 stars.
This was intended to be a special occasion and I feel it missed the mark. For this price point, we expected much better service, better quality, and better atmosphere. I could list all of the things that missed the mark but it would end up just sounding like a rant. We won't be back anytime soon.
fish way over cooked; server didn’t want to be there and not knowledgeable... will not go back
Excellent first-time experience, on Valentine's Day no less! Terrific entrée options, cooked perfectly. A restaurant for special occasions, and we will return.
Me and my husband went out for St Valentines dinner. It seemed that these guys overbooked themselves for that event. First we had to wait for 30 min to be sited, I wouldn’t say that the service was bad, but it was extremely fast, we probably were waiting for the table longer than we were there at the table. The server didn't introduce any of the food, seemed like he didn't even care we were there, took the order and brought out dishes in two minute timing. The table was in The walkway, everyone had to go around us. Zero romantic atmosphere, it was all about making money squeezing and speed servicing as many couples as possible. The food was obviously pre- cooked. In many cases fast service is great, but not when you are on a romantic date trying to relax and spend time with your spouse without any rush. Comparing to many other restaurants we have been on the romantic dates this one is the worst. They shouldn't even be creating any Valentines menu since they don't provide anything related to that holiday. So our date was over in 45 min with three course meals and $250 bill.
Valentines night had a set menu and price much like many of the restaurants. My wife and I chose the filet. It was good but considering the price was $85 each, it should have been better. The lobster bisque had 1 small piece of lobster. The filet came with very bland mashed potatoes that tasted like instant to me and some tiny cherry tomatoes. For the price, I didn't feel the value was there. I would probably go back but only if Del Friscos, Capitol Grill, etc. are sold out. The food was okay but for the same money I can go to Del Friscos which is much better. The check came and we were charged for the dessert that was included. Just an oversight, I'm sure. The waitress corrected it. We also felt VERY rushed especially after we were done with our meal and just talking. Truthfully, I won't go back.
Filet mignon was fantastic! The lamb was also great!
If you want a romantic dinner or just a great overall experience Mignon is the place. Also recommend for business meetings. Great private room and they know how to blend in without getting in the way.
Nice neighborhood find! We will be going back.
Such a wonderful Valentine dinner! We'll be back!
This was our first time at Mignon’s and we were there for a birthday celebration. Damon was our server, he was lovely and the service was great. The food was delicious and We plan to be back soon. PS - have the date cake for dessert!
Relaxing ambiance..delicious calamari, outstanding lamb..wonderful and professional service. We will request Jen again. Best restaurant in West Plano!
Absolutely amazing, the service was outstanding, food was incredible, great wine list. Best service I have received at a restaurant in all of DFW, they were there for any need and or request. The menu was amazing everything we tried was delicious and to our liking. Highly recommended!
Dear Sir, Madame, Thank you we appreciate you taking the time to write us such a gracious review. We are happy you had a nice experience dining at Mignon, and we look forward to having you dine with us again. Best, Mignon
My husband and I celebrated an anniversary here, and the ambiance was romantic. The bacon wrapped quail was to die for, and my medium rare fillet mignon was tender and delicious. We loved the white chocolate marnier bread pudding but out absolute favorite dish was the lobster mac-n-cheese. It was to die for. Thanks for an amazing meal!
First time visit for a special occasion with my wife. The service, food, ambiance of the restaurant were all excellent. Would highly recommend this establishment!!
Dear Mr Gary, Thank you for taking the time to write us such a kind review. We are flattered you selected Mignon to celebrate your special occasion and had a nice experience. We look forward to serving you and your wife soon. Best, Mignon
We enjoyed our dinner very much. It's nice to have something other than the traditional steak house fare to choose from and everything was delicious. We will be back soon.
Dear Mrs Al, We are so glad to hear that you had a great experience with us. Thank you for taking the time to write this kind review. We look forward to having you dine with us again. Best, Mignon
Fantastic as always. Mignon never fails to deliver a wonderful experience!
The service was great. The waiter was wonderful.
Four of us met for brunch at Mignon. Service by Heath was very efficient and attentive but never hovering. The mignon omelette and hash eggs benedict were delicious! Quiet enough for good conversation, and fun ambiance. We will be back soon to try dinner menu!
Food is incredible. Excellent service. 5 stars!
Celebration for two family birthdays! Mignon did a fantastic job and the food was great!
The service was terrible. We sat for 20 minutes before being acknowledged. Rushing us to order and then long waits. My wine was brought after we finished eating. The steak was burned. Not charred, burned. Waitress slapped the check down without even asking if we wanted anything else. The waiter knocked my drink over, and while it was replaced, no effort was made to clean it up. No need to return. Ugh.
First time visit and we will return. First we had the Bacon Wrapped Quail. They were one of the best appetizers I have ever had - just outstanding flavor. Main course was the filet Mignon with white cheddar whipped potatoes. The steak was cooked as requested and the subtle flavor of the potatoes was on the mark. Dessert was creme brulee and chocolate cake - both were very good, especially the brulee, since it was not as sweet as most versions at other restaurants.
Exactly what we were looking for! Relaxing atmosphere, tentative service, every meal was prepared perfectly! Filet was perfect melted in your mouth! Halibut was beautiful topped with lumps of crab with a sauce that was 10 stars. I can’t forget the mussels 10 stars for that sauce too. The dessert was so great not too sweet just right Bread Pudding and Date Cake were tremendous. Highly Recommend
Not a first choice for a Christmas Day meal. I was surprised to find out upon seating that it was a buffet only menu. Service was lacking and the restrooms were nasty. I won’t go back.
Wonderful traditional holiday dinner. The turkey was flavorful and juicy. Nice overall experience.
Horrible. I took my entire family there for a nice Christmas dinner and I must say it was probably one of the worst experiences I ever had. The food was like eating at Luby’s the table was broken down patio furniture with a table cloth completely leaning and not level. The server did not bring us butter or water and we had to ask other attendants to pick up the slack. Then to top it off, was left with a $600 bill for 6 people and they added a 20% gratuity automatically. It made the taste that much worse especially since the food was mediocre at best. Will not be going back ever and I feel like a fool for bringing my family to this place for Christmas. Unbelievable...
Christmas Buffet , no rolls left, salmon overcooked and dry, deserts were finger food size probably from Kroger’s
A rip off at $59 each
We went for the Christmas Buffet. The food was amazing! The selection was excellent for the price. I think they were busier than they expected so there were a few times we had to wait for them to refill the buffet but it was all fresh.
We love Mignon’s food, service and atmosphere. We have dined here for many holiday meals. BUT now that it is a holiday buffet we will no longer dine on a holiday at Mignon’s. We do, however, plan to return to for meals that we can order off the menu. We have dined at a holiday buffet twice and were thoroughly disappointed both times. The food is not up to par for a $60 dinner, the buffet line is very congested making it hard to return to your table and the dessert are just okay. Our waiter did give us good friendly service. Thank you for giving me the chance to express my opinion.
Xmas buffet was horrible. I've had better at cheap wedding buffets. Had eaten Xmas dinner there several years ago and remember we all enjoyed. I left there embarrased that I recommended it.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly people, good food and no work putting it together or cleaning up after, my idea of a perfect Christmas dinner. The only thing you miss is what to do with all those leftovers!
We had a party of three for the Christmas Day brunch buffet. The restaurant is lovely. We sat in a covered/enclosed patio area overlooking a little pond. While the food was good, it wasn’t anything Special. I would have expected more for over $200.
I imagine that the dinner menu is better. I’d be willing to go back and try again.
Christmas Eve dinner.
Christmas Eve- fixed menu/price however clearly off service, had res but made to wait, then taken to table that wasn’t set and didn’t even bring bread and water for over 20 minutes. Waiter finally approached and asked if we had been served and since we hadn’t said he’d step in. Thankfully app and entree was delicious and redeeming. Dessert was lacking, creme brûlée cold and didn’t really didn’t feel like a special evening. We were only a party of two and many others had larger tables and had worse service.
Wouldn’t “celebrate” here again.
We went Christmas Eve so it was crazy busy and service was not good. We will try it again on a not so busy night. Food was real good.
This is the most unaccommodating staff we’ve encountered in a nice restaurant. Reservation was made with notation that it was a birthday celebration. I also pointed it out several times but nothing was done. I saw another diner with a sparking candle and noted it again over dessert. The waitress said that they usually do a candle and that she didn’t really read the reservation notes. We requested different sides and were told we would have to purchase them from one waitress when the previous waitress had advised it could be done with a small up charge. Overall, not a great experience.
Family Christmas brunch with our 6 grown children. Eggs for all of the Benedict’s we all ordered were overcooked. Appetizers were amazing though as was the private room. Main courses were not what you would expect for the price. Very disappointed overall.
