Michael Mina - Bellagio
Host wasnt accommodating looking down own us said no tables were available but clearly there are. Server not attentive
Completely overpriced although I'm judging on New Years Eve menu.
Michael Mina restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants and I was a bit disappointed this time. We were a party of 4 for New Year's Eve and one of our party was my granddaughter who is 8 years old. I was disappointed that they didn't have any options other than the full blown tasting menu and had not notified us of this. When I asked they said that there was no other option. Additionally, we had ordered her a drink and it took way too long (and after a couple of requests from us) for her to receive the drink. Finally, one of the dishes that came out was a risotto/farro dish and I started to eat it and bit on something very hard. I showed the waiter what I bit on and he said it was bone marrow. I explained that it couldn't have been bone marrow because (as he could see) it was hard and I couldn't even put my fork through it. He said he would let the chef know and never came back with any followup. It's unfortunate because we were really looking forward to celebrating this special evening and as I mentioned it is normally one of my favorite restaurants.
An amazing New Year’s Eve romantic dining experience from start to finish. Beautifully crafted dishes and exceptional service.
Our waiter was superb - very professional and very courteous. I don’t remember his name but he had a white ceramic watch that his mother had given to him. My wife and I enjoy this restaurant each time we come to Vegas and we have had the pleasure of having the same waiter each time.
The easiest way to describe the food is “the best I’ve ever tasted.” It’s mind boggling how the chefs combine ordinary ingredients to produce the most incredible flavors. The taste of the food is unlike any other food we’ve tried and each time is special.
We took my son and his wife to Michael Mina for our annual Christmas dinner in Las Vegas. The service and attention to detail was outstanding. Food was prepared to perfection !
Honestly speaking the appetizers and salad were better than the entree. We were their for Christmas and it was packed. They had some-what of a pre-set menu. My wife had the wagyu filet and was not impressed with portion size nor overall flavor. I had Cobi Halibut which was infused and baked similar to a carmelized ham. Interesting approach but overpowered the fish.
Everything was fine. It’s just that when you pay that much money you expect everything to be spectacular. On the whole, for four people and a bottle of wine at around $800, I would’ve expected it to be better.
Service was the big disappointment here. Waiter was a non-native speaker, and we had difficulty understanding him...we had to fill in the blanks. When he dropped the bill in the table, he didn’t think to clear our empty desert plates.
Ambiance: When paying $1,000 for dinner, we don’t want to be watching football games on plasma TV screens over our guest’s heads.
Food: Signature and seasonal tasting menus. Food was the winner here. We live in San Francisco where Mina’s signature restaurant flourishes, and he is a gifted chef. No standouts here, just regurgitated proven winners.
The Takeaway: Joel Robuchon knows how to manage an empire, and maintain the highest standards. He does this by flying his “enforcer” around the globe. Michael should take note. His restaurants have gotten away from him.
Visit Again: Pass.
While the food was good (and incredibly filling), it wasn’t outstanding. The service was lackluster. Not what I expected from a restaurant that has earned one Michelin star.
Amazing service and amazing food. Love MM restaurants. The lobster pot pie was perfectly executed. Will return when in town.
We have the seasonal tasting menu. All items plus the wine pairing are SO great. Especially the Uni pasta, you addicted to it.
It is always good. Very busy restaurant and it makes you feel special. Great service and exceptional food.
The food was great and our server, whom I didn't catch his name, was amazing. Things in Vegas can get out of hand sometimes and we had someone in our party that had had, well, a little too much "Vegas". The staff took care of if us and was kind to us in working with out Vegas'd friend. Thank you!
We had the thanksgiving special dinner course with wine pairing. Overall the food and wine were really good. The risotto and pumpkin dessert are highly recommended if they are on regular menu as well.
Creative, tasty food. Impeccable knowledgeable staff. Thanksgiving menu was exquisite, especially the desert, of pumpkin-based and shaped mousse and accompanying flavors. I regret only not taking a picture of it.
Restuarnteur living on his past praise.
This restaurant is dowdy rather than dapper, service is slow and uncaring, food is overpriced but not as badly as the wine which is ridiculuous. Food was good, but we WONT be back
We chose that resturant due to the seafood, however from what we order, we were not impressed. We order the seafood platter, and grilled octopus. The octopus was great, however the seafood platter was salty and dry.
This was probably the worst dinning experience I have ever had. First off, the seating situation and ambience was horrible. It felt like an IHOP. I should have known it was going to be bad when the entire restaurant was empty on a Friday at 7. We got the two tasting menus. The food was so salty and drenched in butter. The fish was not fresh and tasted super fishy. The lobster in the famous lobster pie was uneatable because it was so chewy. Then they bring out frozen burnt ice cream in flat root beer with a stale cookie as a dessert. Mind you this was over 400 for two people. Don’t get taken like we did!!!!
Very good tasting menu, worthy of Michelin star restaurant. Our waiter Greg was very professional and friendly at the same time. One of the courses was too salty, he took care of it momentarily, brought a new one without any question. Highly recommended.
The service and setting are lovely, but it is VERY PRICEY for what you get. Great sommelier. Didn't like the TurboTax - very tough.
A true WOW experience. We've been to some of the top restaurants in the world including Per Se in New York, Taillevent in Paris and the French Laundry in Napa. Michael Mina's tasting menu rivaled them all. Each course built upon the last and were packed with flavor. The service was impeccable - he noticed everything while still making us feel comfortable. When our server found out we were diabetics, he arranged to have a wonderful cheese tray brought down from Harvest to substitute for the dessert on the tasting menu. That is truly going the extra mile. We will be back.
Delicious hot. Great service and quiet!!
Tuna tartare is like none other
After two days of meetings and client dinners it was a welcome respite to have dinner with my husband. Great dining experience in a hotel speciality restaurant that we can always count on for good and innovative food. Service was outstanding.
we have been here several times over the last 10 years. Always good. Tasting menu was a great value. Actually more than we could eat. Historically the lobster pot pie is fantastic. This time we were disappointed because the lobster was very overcooked and actually hard to chew. I probably should have brought it up but I was tired from traveling and the rest of the meal was great.
This is the fifth time we have dined here. The service is top notch. Our service was very knowledgeable, as were the food runners. The food is always excellent, unique flavor blends, and well presented. No doubt that this place is expensive, but it is worth it. Take your time and make this an event while you are in Vegas.
I have eaten at Michael Mina's since he first opened in SF. Always one the VERY finest. The Las Vegas one is superb!!!!
Exceptional meal and service. The lobster pot pie was outstanding. It was a whole lobster on top of a delectable flaky crust. The Tandoori style Madai snapper was equally delicious.
The dining room is quite elegant in an understated way.
I had the Michael's Lobster Pot Pie with brandied-lobster cream, black truffle, baby vegetables. The pie is delivered to the table where the pie crust is placed on a plate & the lobster is placed on top of the crust. This is a large serving so I recommend to not have any other course except dessert. The aroma of the food was wonderful.
Service was professional & friendly.
Superb seafood and service!!
Absolutely horrendous service can't make up for amazing food. We had reservations for 2 at 7:45pm for a birthday dinner. We arrived early, 7:30 and were told to wait, even though there were plenty of tables. 5-10 minutes later they tried to seat us in a booth right by the kitchen and right near all the foot traffic for the servers and guests. We refused and ask to be seated ina booth against the wall. We were seated at about 7:50. 5 minutes past reservation time, no big deal. A bit later a server came by to get us water and the waiter handed us menus and asked if there were any time restrictions. We had a sitter until 10:30 and told him we need to be out by 10. He said no problem, just in case you wanted a tasting menu, that takes 90 min to 2 hours, which was perfect. I ordered the Siganture tasting menu with accompaniment and she had the Summer tasting menu with shell fish accompaniment. A glass of wine was ordered and I ordered a Verpsertine martini. The wine came out quickly, but we waited to toast until the martini arrived. It took an another 20-25 for it to show up. Approximately 45 minutes after we sat down a bread baset finally showed up. It was pita bread and it was amazing. But 45 minutes?? Come on. Shortly there after, the caviar parfait for my menu showed up, but no food for my partner. we shared it as we were hungry. Around 9pm, bread and the caviar thing was all we had. Someone, not our waiter, walked by and aske dhow everything was. We let her know w were waiting on food. She asked what course? What are we waiting on? I said ANYTHING! We had to leave in an hour now. Our first course finally came and our waiter came. I said, how are we supposed to get out of here by 10pm at this pace? (This was the first time he's been by in about 45 minutes) He apologized, and got us another round of drinks. They then proceeded to expidite our food. Everything was excellent, but, man, the service is just horrendous. So slow and dismissive. I would suggest avoiding MM.
The oysters were fresh and the lobster pot pie (which contains a whole Maine lobster) is not to be missed. My wife says the Dover sole is the best she ever had. One of the greatest seafood places in the world.
We have been to Michael Mina three times - the food is fabulous. However we will likely not be returning due to the service and the ambience. At our second visit we were seated at a table for 6 right at the entrance to the kitchen. The servers coming in and out and the level of activity at our periphery were very distracting and not relaxing. I stopped by early on this third visit to request we were seated well away from the kitchen; the hostess and another employee assured me that we would be. Regardless, we were seated 5' from the kitchen entrance again, and most disappointing was that a better placed table to accommodate our 7 people was actually available at the time we were seated; but in the few minutes it took to request to be moved the restaurant had seated others there. That table was finished in an hour; we were there three hours as we had the tasting menu. What a shame. Further, the kitchen reversed the order of the lobster and the beef dishes which made no sense, particularly given wine pairings. No apologies or explanation were provided. The restaurant was seemingly uninterested in accommodating our request; I doubt we will return.
We had the Traditional Tasting Menu. Every course was more decadent than the one before it. We will definitely be back.
The tasting menu and wine pairing was delicious. Our fantastic waiter made the experience even better!
