Restaurant has closed. I got a text from an unknown number telling me to go to another location (for a different restaurant) but I made reservations at the location that has since closed.
The restaurant is closed.
Food was gross and overpriced. The food was cold and the salsa came from the deli store down the street.
A bottle of beer was $7! Keep walking and save yourself from warmed up gross food.
Great, intimate spot. The food was really good. I had the chicken fajitas and they were perfect. Great margaritas. The bartender’s playlist was really good too.
Great business meeting spot
Very yummy, authentic Mexican food. Service was excellent food portions were huge. Very filling and satisfying.
The worst New York dining experience I have ever had. Not Mexican food at all. No flavor, tiny place and extortionate prices.
Food is awful and service ok. However, they have a mandatory gratuity (effectively raised the prices by 20%) in small print at the bottom of the menu.
The owner threatened to call the cops on me when I refused to pay.
We left the food as it was awful.
Try to avoid
Great spot for lunch. Lunch specials were a great value. Food was excellent, server was terrific. Excellent quac and tacos. It's small, so reservations are probably a good idea for dinner. We were there for a late lunch so no problem.
Delicious food for a tiny place
The food was bland and disappointing and served only lukewarm.
Was there in between Parts I & II of Angels in America. All was good, but not what we were expecting. The food is very good and the service is good as well. Photos are the website are misleading. There are exactly three tables, one of which is directly in front of the entrance, along with seats at the bar.
Pretty good food , good service and quiet place. Good margaritas.
Very small venue, but they have a larger location a few blocks away. Very delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine and authentic Margaritas! Hits the spot!
The food and margaritas were delicious! We were especially impressed with the extent of the vegetarian menu! The vegetarian chimichanga had a great blend of sautéed vegetables and the tortilla was only lightly fried, not heavy at all. The owner told us he has been a vegetarian most of his life and has worked hard on the menu.... it definitely shows.
Restaurant was very small. Tight fit. Air conditioner wasn't working and it was a hot day.
The owner was gracious and our hostess. She made a special dessert for me that used to be on their menu in their previous location, but has since been discontinued! That was special. They have great homemade salsa & guacamole. Only negative is extremely small space so aour party of 3 was ok but a larger group (more than 6) is out of luck for eating in.
Always the best service, best food and only place worth thinking about. Huge portions, friendly staff and effortlessly makes sure there’s no other place nearby you would want to go to. Margarita!!!!
This place is perfect to grab a few drinks with friends after-work. The restaurant was quiet but the staff was very attentive. The restaurant is very small, but the food is great and the guac was amazing. Go for the Margarita if you're getting a drink!
The restaurant is exceptionally small (three tables) and not much room to move but the quality of the food and warm service makes up for the lack of space.
The food was tasty, and portion size was very generous. The price was a bit high but it was worth every cent!
The restautant is warm, personal, has marvelous good and is a pleasure to visit
I don't need too many characters to describe my eating experience. Suffice it to say that I booked a table without knowing anything about the restaurant. My sister and I had just seen a show in the neighborhood in belated celebration of my birthday. When we got out of the cab, we looked around and had trouble finding the place. Much to our surprise, the tiny restaurant was hiding in plain sight. There were a couple of people seated at the bar, but we were the only guests at a table - there were only two tables!! The waiter was full of personality and information. He was totally attentive, funny, and accommodating. The owner came out to talk with us and shared some information about the dishes and restaurant. The food was to die for! My sister had a shrimp dish and I had a combination of pork ,and beef enchiladas and tacos. The sangria was delicious and the complimentary dessert was mouth-watering. I can't wait to go back with an unsuspecting friend or relative. Mi Nidito is the kind of wonderful surprise that every foodie deserves!!
I booked a table for 2 on Open Table for Sunday night, even got a confirmation. I was so disappointed when the cab driver dropped us off and the restaurant wasn't open. I guess this is really a review of Open Table.
While Mi Nidito is excellent for take out and delivery, they treat you like guests in their home at this tiny, cozy neighborhood spot, including tasty and satisfying portions and thoughtful treats and extras.
We ate here twice during our five days stay in NYC. Never had such a fantastic Fajita! The guacomole and certainly the Margerita's are really great!!
They only have seating for 6 plus an additional 8 at the bar. We sat at the bar and the service was great and the food was tasty
Mi Nidito is NOT the place to go with a large group - unless you're doing take-out. It only has 3 tables for 2 and another half dozen seats at the bar. However, the food is very good and you can get more than your typical Mexican restaurant fare. Also, the staff is very nice, but doesn't hover. Go and enjoy
We trudged in the rain to find this little gem. Welcomed by the owner when we arrived we sat at the bigger if the two tables. Our drinks arrived immediately! We ordered the guacamole will we studied the large menu. They had us at the guacamole!! Only to be outdone by the Best chicken tortilla soup I ever had!! All so fresh and flavorful. We had the chile rellenos, quesadillas and chimichanga all yum. For being such good eaters they had us sample their tres leeches dessert. All this will bring us back. They made our night.
Great little find. Food and service were phenomenal. Only seats six besides the bar but the food was delicious, authentic and fresh. We would definitely go again.
We were looking for a mexican restaurant for pre-theater. The food reviews for this place were good and the prices were decent. One person mentioned that it is small. That is truly an understatement!! 3 tables for 2! That's it. You can sit at the bar I guess. This is obviously primarily a take-out restaurant. Wish I had known that. The food was very good and the service was great. But I really wanted a more pleasant atmosphere. If you are looking for a small place, this is it!
Wonderful food and service. Great find! Great for in house and takeout dining
Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. Tiny, tiny space but fantastic food, wonderful service, and very convenient to theaters.
This is a very good and out of the ordinary tex mex restaurant. They take care with how they cook the food. Highly recommended.
very accomodating owner, we had two vegetarians and a gluten/nut/dairy free eater, due to allergies. The owner was very accomodating and helpful, we felt very well taken care of
