Always a wonderful experience at CSM! We love introducing our favorite restaurant to our friends and family and they always love it there as much as we do. The pork chop is always wonderful. One of specials was the duck and andouille gumbo which was delicious and loaded with meat. We always have a 5 star experience.
Loved our early dinner (5:15 pm) and the team service led by Lauren, who has cheerfully and tastefully served us many times in the past. Water and bread came promptly, and Lauren returned frequently to serve our wine. The steaks (filets) were perfectly cooked to med-rare, and we added a little heat from the sizzling plate to the red middle as needed. Sides and Lobster bisque were wonderful. Just love this place - the best steakhouse in Baton Rouge.
The food is always grand, but tonight the service was as great as it possibly could be. Our two waiters had perfect timing on each food course. That is not easy is a large restaurant.
We had out of town guest from Alabama. The boudin dip was a hit. The crab wontons, multiple orders, were gone in a flash. The entrees of scallops, lobster and Two birds were favorites. Jubans impressed our guest. Thanks again for a great night of dining.
Not far from the Gulf of Mexico, Vermillion River, and Atchafalaya Swamp is Lafayette, Louisiana. The town's closeness to these bodies of water makes fresh-water fish and seafood among the most popular foods. Restaurants in Lafayette specialize in Cajun and Creole styles of cooking, which were originated by the people who settled here generations ago. Cajun classics like gumbo, red beans and rice, and po'boys are all popular. In Lafayette, you'll also find classic American burgers and Southern dishes like chicken-fried steak. Be sure to try beignets, a deep-fried Louisiana pastry. Topped with powdered sugar or served with dipping sauces, these are eaten for breakfast and dessert.
