What a wonderful find in the Heart of London. Violet is the main attraction and they organised cake and music for my mums birthday without us even having to request - they made us feel so special!
We really enjoy the Med Cafe - friendly, lively, good food and reasonably priced. The owner was there to greet us and chatted to us later - it was fairly quiet on this particular Tuesday evening. My wife loves this kind of simple, lively restaurant and I'm sure we'll return (this was our third visit). Food is simple Med-style (as you'd expect) - we had skewers of lamb and chicken, both of which were tender and tasty, with a zingy chilli sauce on offer. The house wine is inexpensive and very drinkable!
Nice authentic restaurant, laid back atmosphere, good service, great selection of traditional food and great price.
Very disappointed . Food tasteless and overpriced for what you get.
When we arrived, the manager came out and asked if we would mind sitting in their downstairs restaurant in the nextdoor building. He was very solicitous and told us to let him know if we weren't comfortable with it. (He also gave us all a Sambuca at the end of our meal)! However, although we were the only people in that restaurant to start with, that didn't bother us, and it filled up whilst we were there anyway.
The menu is extensive and the set menu is extremely good value, as was the wine that was suggested by our waitress, and all the staff were extremely friendly. We would definitely go back!
Excellent as always been at least six times and still as good
A little gem in Soho. Good value and characterful.
Nice food, friendly and caring staff, reasonable prices.
Lovely food good prices if you stick to the meal deal but be careful the extras quickly add up All in all though really nice food
It was my husbands birthday meal... We were welcomed in & the service continued... The food was great & atmosphere was great too... Would go back again & take friends too...
Really disappointing: very high prices for sloppily cooked food. A minute portion of calamari had the texture of a rubber band, while 4 largish prawns in a bland tomato sauce were just ‘meh’. Bread was the bog-standard pitta that you’d buy in a supermarket, and hadn’t even been grilled or toasted. And the various ‘dips’ were sub-supermarket quality.
Maybe we visited on an ‘off’ night but I won’t be returning
We arrived on time and the café had no reservation for us.
Lovely little restaurant with warm, attentive staff, providing good service. The food was good. And it was good value for Soho too. Definitely recommend.
Good food and great ambience! The service is good as well!
What a great find! The food was outstanding as was the service!
It was for my wife’s 50th birthday there was 11 of us seated downstairs and the whole experience was excellent food and staff alike, our waitress was very friendly and chatted to everyone each time she came to the table.
Table for 6 adults. Excellent food at a very reasonable price. All six main courses were very tasty.
As per previous reviews the waitresses were far to keen to remove our plates one of which was from a member of our party that had not finished their meal!
Lovely service. Great food. Great price. Stayed for hours and wasn’t rushed at all.
Lovely food, service and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Très bon accueil et ambiance très sympathique. Nous nous sommes régalés. Je recommande vivement.
Had a lovely meal here on New Years Eve. Food very tasty and very reasonably priced.
A gem of a restaurant that hasn’t changed in years, long may it last. We’ll be back again next year. Our first choice in Soho.
We ordered some bread and olives as a starter while we were waiting for our main meal. Unfortunately our main meal arrived first. The food was very nice but overall we felt quite rushed during our time there and sitting right next to the kitchen meant staff were constantly walking right by us.
Great busy little restaurant with great family feel
We were Greeted by a friendly staff member and offered a choice of tables. Once we were seated promptly offered our menu and wine list. The waiting staff 2 lovely polite ladies made us feel very welcome.
Food order was taken and our drinks promptly served.
Food was nicely presented and the taste was divine.
I had ordered the chicken in Tarragon... expect in a white sauce, I was surprised to find it was in a tomato sauce ... I can happily say I was delighted with my meal ... tasted divine and excellent value for money.
Staff were most attentive and welcoming to all customers ... regular customers were welcomed as friends ... the friendliness of the staff was amazing.
I would highly recommend this place.... had such a lovely experience and enjoyable meal.... I will be back.
Great food and great service. Enjoyed our time there.
They completely forgot to bring us our starters. Service needs improvement.
First time and wasn’t at all disappointed. It was very busy but we were seen to immediately and didn’t have to wait very long for our lovely food. All good value from the set menu... there are other options!
A really pleasant family meal in the evening. The service was brilliant, the food very tasty, and we all enjoyed our meal very much. We shall certainly come back again!
Vert good service but not enough food on the plate
Lovely restaurant, great dining experience.
Food was really good value and service warm and welcoming.
Excellent little find, a classic old Soho house, funky decor and even it's own resident Elder who's there every night, can't remember her name tho'! She is on the old theatre posters on the walls and stops for a chat which is fab. Loved our experience there, attentive staff, good mediterranean food, cosy atmosphere and good value too! Highly recommended :)
Rather busy when we were there and so service was a little slow. Overall value very good including an excellent set menu available.
Food was good but both starter and main arrived very quickly and it all just seemed rushed. Staff were friendly and attentive but seemed to be hanging around waiting for you to finish to clear away plates even though your whole party hadn't finished eating. Tables were small and crowded once you got food and drinks on them and our party nearly got seated in two different parts of the restaurant. The G&T was not good- the tonic was flat and priced at £7.50, you expect your G&T to be better. Not a bad restaurant but needs tweeking.
The food was ok but the establishment was definitely more like a cafe than a restaurant and the toilets and back area were not the cleanest. A very basic wine list and very average food. Much nicer places to eat in close proximity.
Great food, relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. Been many times and love it.
Pleasantly surprised - the food was good, not overly expensive, nothing grand but pleasant.
Service was very quick, very friendly staff. A good find for a quick meal in Central London.
Need a light in the toilet!!!
I have been here multiple times. The food is excellent and service cannot be faulted. It has a nice cosy vibe.
This is a lovely restaurant with a lot of local colourful characters. Despite being busy the service was excellent. The chicken kebab was one of the best I've tasted and my husband, who is vegetarian, had the spinach pancake which he really enjoyed. Recommended.
