Whoever wrote that this is the best restaurant in Hanalei must not be a foodie....The ambience is sterile, the windows are so cloudy you can't see outside even if you have a window seat and the food is bland and overly pricey....highly over rated and a major, major disapointment.

Awesome experience, beautiful oceanfront setting. Nice menu and drinks. Thanks to Candace service was lovely. Highly recommend

We have dined here many times before. This was our worst experience. Many of the items we attempted to order were not available. They were out of them. The food we did get was relative tasteless and not up to par. They might have had a substitute chef, but we questioned that because it was for Valentine's Day. We will not be coming back soon.

Enjoyed watching the waves from the oceanside windows. Food was very good, with a Mediterranean slant (no surprise) and service was excellent. Nice find in the remote Hanalei area.

Had heard good things about this restaurant so wanted to try. Food was overpriced and average at best. Onion soup was the worst I ever had. No flavor at all. Grilled fish was tasty but rice and bok choy also had no flavor. Nice view but you couldn't see out of the windows because they were so dirty. Would not return.

A bit of drive with more traffic than expected so remotely. Several one lane bridges with some drivers not following protocol.

We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation, and were seated at an oceanfront table within a couple minutes. It took the waitress a good while to get to us. When she did, our drink orders were taken, but it took a long time to get served. Basically, service was very slow. I guess it didn't matter, because the view is the best! I ordered the steamed clams that were out of this world, but the paella (special of the day) was rather dry, although fairly tasty. We wouldn't order it again. All-in-all, it was a lunch to remember. It was a bit noisy (young child pounding on something with utensils, and another behind us screaming and crying) but the view was amazing! We'll consider the Mediterranean Gourmet again, but it might lose out to a beachside picnic.

This is always on the list of places to eat at while on Kauai. We especially like to go the nights they have live music and hula. The food is always good and the location is great.

Even though this is one of the higher rated restaurants on the island, we found the meals to be lacking in flavor. Disappointing experience.

Blustery day on the north shore so after some beach walking we decided to stop for lunch. I love falafel and this time I'd say the sandwich was "good"--nothing over the top. The hebi wrap, by comparison,was truly outstanding! We sat by the window to marvel at the waves without getting wet--nice!
