My waiter Michael was outstanding!!! He made my daughters birthday celebration a great one!!
We love this place! Food is great and although service is normally mediocre, we found service this time to be amazing. The tall gentleman (didn’t catch his name) Maitre d at the podium was super nice and accommodating in getting us a wonderful table after we asked for a better one or two :)
The atmosphere was perfect and the food was amazing! Service was pretty quick too!
So much potential, but not impressed at all
Customer service was great. Very small food portions.
This is a tourist trap with bad service! Was recommended by a friend and I would not recommend it to others!
Great food & we loved our waiter! It was a bit pricy for breakfast food but that was expected. Great drinks too.
A couple of friends and I went to Max for dinner. We’ve been here before so it was good to go back after a while.
Love this place!! And especially the desserts! We will be back!
Great lunch at noon - not busy at that time, gets busier around 1pm
Food is very good, large portions and excellent hot cocoa served in a “hug mug” :)
Will go back for dessert!
Overall, no reason for me to return, unless (highly unlikely) I came with a few friends for a chocolate dessert of some kind. My friend & I both ordered salads. Mine was soggy though it tasted ok. I ordered coffee with my meal which arrived barely warm, but our server promptly replaced it with hot coffee. My friend described her salad as also just ok. On a previous visit the salad she ordered was excellent, which is why we agreed to meet there for lunch. The music was loud even though it was 2:30 on a weekday and we asked them to lower it. The room itself was cold. Our server was very sweet, and I probably should have rated the service one star higher than I did.
We made reservations after a Broadway show and we tried the martinis, fondue, pizza and crepes. The fondue by far was our favorite. No one was able to finish the martini. We were oozing chocolate by the end of our time there. It was very crowded - no way you were getting in without a reservation. It was loud and our service was only acceptable, not amazing by any means. We still had a great time and the chocolate was amazing. I forgot my credit card and went back the next day at lunch to pick it up and the restaurant wasn't even 1/3 full. The hostess said that weekends are brutal so I recommend a week night if you can swing it. Do not attempt a weekend night without a reservation and do not plan to be in a hurry. The service would not accommodate a tight schedule.
Needs to be cleaned. Perhaps due to traffic in restaurant floors were littered. Bathrooms were gross!!!! Theme was nice
From the service to the food we couldn’t have asked for anything better, the Italian think hot chocolate and the smoothie is a must have😍😍
It was a wonderful pre-birthday celebration. Just make sure you ask the server to get the sparkly candle or you’ll get a regular candle which is not picture worthy lol Otherwise amazing food and great place to chill with friends and family or a date.
Super busy restaurant, server was nice but too overloaded. Bathrooms where disgusting, worse than a gas station bathroom!!
Recently went to celebrate a birthday. Made a reservation for an early dinner and still had to wait 45 minutes. The restaurant is extremely loud and over crowded. The dinner menu is very limited and average. I would recommend only going for dessert, not on a Saturday night and expect to wait.
Fun restaurant to take kids and enjoy a chocolatey dessert.
Our group thoroughly enjoyed the experience we had at Max Brenner. The food was simply amazing and the dessert was even more so. Personally, I loved the ambiance - very comfortable and homey. Our waiter was very quirky and interesting which definitely added to the experience. I would definitely recommend Max Brenner to friends and colleagues - I think everyone should experience such chocolate heaven at least once. :)
Our server was very kind and attentive. It was for My friends birthday, his serving was perfect.
Worst slowest service ever. Don’t go
Fun place - food was good - service was good ! Waited only 5 min from reservation time for a table.
Waited 20 minutes even with a reservation, service was very slow, food was fine but not great. The dessert was good which I guess is what you come here for?
Our servers were awesome. I went with just me and my 3 little kids and they were super kind to the kids, made recommendations as per my request and we were not rushed at all. It was fabulous. We will be back!!
A chocolate martini I'm still dreaming of days later...definitely will return! Tip: Order an app and a drink first, you may just decide to skip the meal. The Cheese before Chocolate plate, coupled with a martini and hot chocolate (Italian thick!!), were so filling, that even though 2 of us shared, we didn't even finish half of the yummy mac and cheese. We took it home, and moved on to the chocolate fondue...Also, grab some chocolate on your way out, or you'll regret it!
I finally decided to try Max Brenners since I’ve never gone before and have always seen pictures and reviews. We had reservations and we were seated immediately, even when we came in a bit earlier than the reservation time. It did appear that some other people were waiting to be seated, so I certainly recommend making reservations, but if you don’t it won’t be too bad.
The seating we were placed in was a bit tight, and we were directly under the speakers which made the already loud restaurant seem just a bit louder. The lighting is dim and the restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing, but you’re going to have to speak really loudly in order to hear each other.
I don’t think this is a place you’ll want to go for dinner or a meal, as the dinner menu is limiting (haven’t seen the brunch menu!) and the food wasn’t all that amazing (not terrible, just wouldn’t order it again). The options for dessert are really endless, and they all seem very tasty. Definitely go in with an open stomach as the dessert can be heavy! It’s pretty cool if you purchase any of the fondue options because it’s a mini DIY station which creates excitement and fun no matter how old you are. I think prices are pretty fair, but expect to pay more than an average meal out if you’re going for both dessert and dinner.
The service was amazing, everyone was super kind, and we barely waited for the food to come even though the place was packed.
Very nice place to bring family or friends or coworkers to enjoy desserts. Place felt warm and ambiance was comfortable. Would recommend to everyone who loves chocolate.
The service was terrible. Long wait. They brought out the food with no utensils. I had to get up and get some myself. Also, I had to constantly ask for my drink.
The food came on time it wasn’t so loud and the server was amazing.
Great for the chocolate items and desserts. Regular food is average. Go for a sugar festival!!
Mother daughter lunch with 8-year old
I was celebrating my 24th birthday with my mother. We had previously seen Birds of Prey in theaters on the other side of the street before coming to the restaurant.
We had dinner here. Two of us got burgers, one got chicken. It was decent food! And we got a chocolate chip cookie and a smore's option for dessert. We were happy with the sweet treat options. There's no beer on tap, only bottles. The ambiance was nice, it felt a bit "touristy" if that makes sense. But I'd definitely go back for more chocolate!
Great food, great service. Will go back again.
I took my daughter here as a mid-winter school break treat after running some errands in the area. There's no denying they know their chocolate here! From the hot chocolate, to the S'mores sundae we split, everything was delicious.
The restaurant itself left a bit to desire in terms of cleanliness. The first table the hostess attempted to seat us at was dirty. When I pointed it out she denied it and claimed it had been wiped down until I showed her the actual dirty spots, and we were subsequently seated at the adjoining table. (The dirty table was not cleaned until the next party was seated there and pointed it out to the waitstaff.) The bathroom was a mess, and the paper towel dispensers empty.
A for food, C- for general cleanliness.
Took forever for drinks, which were all canned and served that way (if you’re gonna serve a can of beer why does it take 45 minutes?). Food was okay. Milkshakes were not great. The fondue was delicious.
