There was one server, who did his best to hustle and keep up with all of the tables as the restaurant grew more busy. There appeared to be a couple who might have been the owners sitting at a table. They weren't eating, and from time to time disappeared into the back. Never once did they raise a finger to help out the server, never once did they check on customers to see if anything was needed. They could have filled water glasses, bused dirty dishes, shown that cared even a little bit about the customers.
I did not get the impression that they cared about the customers one bit.
The server was great, but it was too much work for one person, and these "managers" should have done something to make the dining experience more enjoyable.
Dear Dan, owners are always either in the kitchen preparing food/taking care of to go orders &/or administrative duties in the office. One of the owners is our head chef whom we respect due to her amazing work ethic. She inspires us as a team & is here from open to close. We appreciate feedback, but we don’t know what couple you speak of - friends/relatives do visit often for a homey meal. We’re happy to learn that you enjoyed our warm service & authentic food. Owner’s recipes for 30+ years.
Great, homemade Mediterranean food in informal, comfortable setting. Kibbe, shish kebob, tabbouleh—delicious mezze platters. Warm, conscientious service. My first visit—will def return
Dear CarlyG, Thank you for your lovely review. We make our dishes from scratch and are always thrilled to hear that our customers appreciate the abundant labor of love that goes into them. Thank you for choosing Marouch. We look forward to serving you again in the near future! Warm regards, Marouch Family
Excellent food and good service. Good for large groups.
Dear MariaM, Thank you for your kind words and lovely phrase in regards to our food and service. It means the world to us when our hard work doesn't go unappreciated. On behalf of everyone at Marouch, our sincerest gratitude! We hope we will have the opportunity to serve you again soon. Warm regards, Marouch Family
Great hospitality. Made accommodations for my mother who had some dietary restrictions. Food was enjoyed by one and all.
Love, Love, LOVE! I love everything about this place. The food, the ambiance and of course the hospitality. Bob is amazing. The Roasted Chicken is to die for. Evey their Lebanese wines were great. Honestly, couldn't recommend this place more.
Love the food!!!
The best falafels and shawarma along with friendly service
This place really rocks. A must visit
Really authentic food and our waiter was fantastic.
I’ve grown up with Lebanese food and this meal was fantastic! I wish they had other locations! I traveled from Sherman Oaks and I know I will be back!
Everything from the food to the tea was disappointing. We will not return.
Even though we don't get to LA much, we always try to eat here, and no matter how long between visits, "Bob" always makes our experience tasty and memorable. Good food, good feel to the place, nice people.
Delicious food and great for sharing. The hummus and mouhamara were the highlights!
This restaurant is amazing! In addition to having my first Lebanese wine, I also tried sugok (Armenian beef sausage) for the first time.
This place is amazing for birthdays, they have lights, music, clapping, crowd participating, it’s fabulous!
The kebbeh were overstuffed but very tasty. The falafel were excellent and the lamb shawarma and the Lebanese sausages quite good. The foul madammas were bad. There was no kebbeneye or taboule and the fattoush was pretty bad. The tehina, hummus and labneh were good.
We went for an early dinner and were the first and only ones there. The waiter was very attentive, and the food was fresh and delicious! A great find in the neighborhood.
We had a great meal that we shared with our family. We ordered a variety of the starters too share along with a couple of the mains. We enjoyed everything!
Outstanding food, great for sharing!
Exceptional food! Great host
Super amazing service. Food was absolutely tasty!!
The best Lebanese food I’ve ever had in my life!!
Only sorry we live so far away from this restaurant. The food and service are excellent. So many wonderful tastes.
Great Lebanese cuisine and fabulous service, but pricey.
Bob was the best server ever! Amazing food and amazing experience enhanced by the best server!
The kebabs were some of the best I have ever had. Good quality meat, tender and beautifully spiced. And the foul mudammas!!
Always delicious. Always nice! Great for large groups
We had vegans and omnivores in our party of eight and all were very satisfied with the offerings that were a wonderfully delicious assortment that pleased all.
Best Lebonese food in LA. And our server, Bob, took great care of us.
Amazing food. Best hummus I’ve ever had. Lovely and gracious service. You can tell that the folks at Marouch really put a lot of love into what they do :)
Great! Best hummus, baba ghanoush, shawarma I’ve had. Lovely service and such a fun evening. Love the mezze option.
Amazing authentic Armenian cuisine. I highly suggest the Vegitarian Combonation for anyone eating vegan. Start with the Fool Madammas- delicious!! Great service, great atmosphere, incredible food!
We live on the west side....wish this restaurant was closer but it is definitely worth the drive. Food is home cooked and amazing. Can't wait to return.
We had lamb with yogurt and it was delicious. Service was friendly and responsive
On my latest visit the lamb in yoghurt dish was perfectly prepared—the meat was tender and very flavorful, nicely browned and seasoned. The pita with pine nuts and I don’t know what inside was delicious. The owner is friendly and helpful. This place is dependably excellent.
Best Baba Ghanouj in L.A. area -- smoky with hints of garlic and lemon. We shared the weekend special, a lamb shank -- Wow! Moist, tender, full of flavor, with a large scoop of seasoned rice and assorted vegetables. We didn't have time to try any desserts, but there will be a next time!
You might miss the gem tucked away in a strip mall if you're cruising through this section of East Hollywood. But the food is wonderful. Large portions, friendly service, very unpretentious vibe. Highly recommend if you like Middle Eastern cuisine.
We met friends after seeing a wonderful play at the Fountain Theater. We were greeted most warmly, and that welcoming attitude continued throughout the evening. The food was delicious; we order the same dishes we've eaten before: Fattoush salad, tabouli, baba ganoush, chicken in a yogurt sauce, and a lamb kebab. Sharing everything, we could talk to our friends because the noise level was acceptable. Next time we visit the Fountain Theater since we come across town, we will be sure to dine at Marouch. Our introduction to this restaurant came at another couple's anniversary celebration when the restaurant was closed to other diners. The food was so good at this party that we have returned again and again. Prices are very reasonable.
ONE OF THE BEST LEBANESE/MEDITERRANEAN PLACES TO EAT. LOCATION IS NOT THAT GREAT, BUT THE FOOD MAKES UP FOR IT.
Came here for a birthday with a group of 8 on a Friday night. They were very accommodating and surprisingly not terribly busy -- which is crazy because the food was SO good! We ordered a Meza for 6 and got a ton of food. Everything was yummy but the labneh was extra delicious, and the pita was great as well. They even surprised the birthday girl with a Mahalabieh (rice pudding) and a crazy birthday song. It was all just wonderful!
