Mariposa at Neiman Marcus - Bellevue
Great lunch atmosphere, service and food quality. Service has always been very good
Wonderful crab salad! It is so nice to eat in a restaurant where you can actually hear the people you are eating with.
Consistent, stellar service, nice touch with the fresh pop overs for all as well as the comforting chicken broth/biscuit. Great menu with something for everyone.
I made reservation to have a nice lunch with family after my daughter’s graduation, but was disappointed. Service was way below par, just had 4 persons on the floor in total and the person who waited my table was forgetting our orders. The mixologist did very poor job with cocktails, btw cocktails tasted like Robitussin. He did not what he was doing. Overall bad experience and would not recommend to anyone. The one in SFO Rotunda is unbelievably good and went into Mariposa with similar expectations and was disappointed.
A burger took 25 minutes to come in a day when no one was there ... but the food was great
Very pleasant space. Friendly, professional service. Food is a little pricey, but good quality. I could do without the freebies (chicken broth, popover)
Delightful place! Food is always good; LOVE the consomme served when you sit. Quiet, genteel atmosphere... most of the time. Unfortunately, there are those young parents who mistakenly assume that others think their crying infant or tantrum-throwing 2yr old is fine with everyone.
No, they are not!
I grew up going to Neiman Marcus restaurant in New York, Chicago and Atlanta. I was so happy to introduce my 2nd daughter to a family tradition!
Worst choice for Mother's Day Brunch E.V.E.R. We were excited coming here, growing up going to the Zodiac Room at the flagship store in downtown Dallas as a child, but if this is the best Neimans can do, please close Mariposa and stop the regret by unsuspecting customers for coming here.
Our party of 7 were the first to arrive/seated ... yet, every mother in the restaurant received a rose, except my mother-in-law and I. We received pop-overs and water, but it took 30+ minutes for our mimosa and bloody marry and 30+ minutes to place our orders.
We were told the brunch menu was not being served, so the Avocado Toast my husband wanted he could not have. We were the ONLY table not to receive a cup of broth (all other tables received them) and our drinks went dry repeatedly. My husband had to take water from our 5 yr old. We flagged the waitress down repeatedly for water, once she came and only refilled my glass and left everyone else's dry.
ONE HOUR after we sat down, our food was served, and what a disappointment it was.
- Crab club was served dry. No mayo, dressing, nothing.
- Tuna tar tar, which we ordered as an appetizer was served with the meal.
- Child's pasta (we asked for no red sauce) was served DRY and had to request Parmesan.
- Seafood stew had only 2 shrimp and was supposed to have scallops, etc. but it must have been blended into the tomato base for all my MIL and Nanny could make out.
- chicken dish waitress's recommendation was bland
- pot roast not so comforting.
Disappointment is too weak a word to describe this experience. We waited 15 minutes for plates to be cleared and by the time the waitress asked about desserts - we were over it and ready to leave. We had seen enough. We felt completely neglected and discriminated against, as we did not receive the same level of attention we witnessed other customers receiving around us. Complete and utter fail on a level rarely seen, on a day intended to be joyful and happy.
We go regularly and will continue to do so for special occasions. I did find some of the music to be a little bit bizarre for the ambience of the restaurant, e.g. they were playing disco music. Still love ❤️ it — excellent food and service.
Their signature pop over and little cup of chicken broth is always a favorite of mine. Crab Louie salad is a must, so much crab! And the dressing is delicious as well. I best place to grab a chic lunch and then shop afterwards!
Mariposa exceeded my expectations! Excellent food and service.
Mariposa just never disappoints - it is a lovely place to take guests - especially if it is new to them. Love it!
Love the elegance of the room. Always wonderful, attentive service.
I always love lunch at Mariposa.
Food and service always delightful.
Awesome dining experience ! First time to come here .. exceeded expectations ! Will come back
NM has always Been known for delivering the best and attention to detail. However this location just doesn’t. From the server with untrimmed , dirty nails to brown spots on the greens. Greasy plates and smudged glassware. I hope it gets fixed and brought to par.
Nice place for lunch. Service was medium and since NM validates parking they should as well for valet
I have been here a number of times and always enjoyed. It has nice ambiance, convenient parking in an outdoor designer shopping area. What struck me this time was the higher prices for lunch items. A salad I used to get most times is now $26 (a couple of prawns with a quinoa base) and couldn’t believe the fish and chips were $34 and it didn’t even read that it was halibut. The pre-lunch mini chicken broth and muffin is always special. Just be prepared for prices that match the Bravern shops, but food and service are good.
The service was impeccable, the food delicious and beautifully presented. The pre-meal offering of a cheese biscuit and demitasse of chicken broth was a delightful surprise that hit the spot on a cold and rainy November afternoon. Well done!! We will return!!
Pacing was nice, environment elegant, waiter was very attentive, made good suggestions, liked the new additions to the menu.
Great as usual! Hugo provides excellent service and is very attentive to our needs. The food is always excellent and portioned well. The ambience is quiet, which is perfect for my parents who are older and a little hard of hearing. It's easy to park at Neiman Marcus and the restaurant validates parking. Perfect for lunch/brunch after church on Sundays.
Always great sevice and the ambiance is soothing. Creative menu. Love the popovers and the broth with cheddar cracker.
Lovely menu with Northwest specialties of crab dishes. As always exceptional service and the starter of the soup and the popover to accompany the meal.
We had an excellent birthday lunch. Fabulous service, quiet and great food.
I have been to Mariposa two times, most recently for Father's Day, and the ambience has been very quiet both times. This is perfect for my father who is deaf in one ear and to whom noisy restaurants can be an unpleasant experience. The food has been very good (and it is consistently delivered VERY quickly). Our waiter was attentive and polite. If you're looking for a bustling restaurant that LOOKS hyper-popular this isn't the place. If you want an upscale location with very good food and a quiet ambience this is a very good bet.
Always a pleasure🌷
Absolutely love this restaurant. The service was incredible and the food was delicious. Prices are a little bit high for what you receive but the experience was wonderful.
World-class dishes. The bread, strawberry butter, and the chicken broth are simply amazing.
Great celebration lunch!
My friends and I gathered for a post-holiday lunch on Sunday, 1/14 at 1pm and our overall experience was just OK. The restaurant wasn't easily recognizable and there were no signs pointing us in the right direction. Once we were seated, our server (an older gentleman) brought over a biscuit with chicken soup, which was tasty. At that same time, my friend noticed her coffee mug had a lipstick stain so she asked for a new cup for her coffee. Instead of immediately apologizing and promptly getting her a new cup, our server stood there for a good 10 -15 seconds, inspecting the cup. He then proceeded to say that the cup just had coffee residue and walked away. Totally unnecessary. A friend and I ordered the bloody mary and in the description, there was supposed to be a carrot. When our drinks arrived, no carrot! The drink itself tasted a bit watered-down and we both felt it wasn't worth the $11. Finally, after the last of our group arrived, our server came over to take our orders. The food came out fairly quickly, which was nice. But instead of knowing who ordered what items (there was only 5 of us and the restaurant had about 2-3 other tables occupied), he had no clue. We expected better service for a restaurant that has higher than average prices but instead, there was a disconnect and several inconsistencies that resulted in an overall mediocre experience. I probably won't dine here again.
Lunch date with my husband. We asked for water after getting the check and prior to paying but our request was either forgotten or ignored, not sure. 😐. The food was excellent and we enjoyed our lunch together.
The service is typically atrocious... and this was no exception. It’s a nice dining room to meet friends for lunch. But don’t expect to get out quickly.
The bright spot is the bus boy who has been there for quite a while.
He keeps the dining room moving.. he clears tables, serves . He keeps the place together with kindness and a smile.
He is terrific and should be called out for his service.
On the other hand the waiter was disinterested, bored and should look for another occupation.
Does not take Visa gift cards. Quuet. Expensive. Pretty. Good fir a special lunch.
It is always hit or miss at Mariposa. They have a very special product. It is a very beautiful atmosphere. The food is good. It is a beautiful place for a ladies’ luncheon. They do not have enough staff. The lighting is terrible. There is no ambience, like music (you are dining in a department store......). The staff is so harried, you have to flag someone down to get anything, and a luncheon takes a full two hours. It can get embarrassing, things take so long. BUT, the entire experience is fun. The food is pretty good, and the restaurant is pretty.
Food was great. Our server was terrible this time; no drinks brought to the table after 15 minutes, no follow-up the whole meal until I asked for the check.
My daughters and I have been coming here for years for an annual Christmas lunch. We won’t be back. Front hostess was rude and marked us as a no show. Service was awful. Water never refilled, waiter never checked in. My daughter asked for coffee. Took 30 minutes and was lukewarm. Very disappointed.
Made a 9:00am reservation on Sunday which was confirmed. Arrived promptly a 9:00 to discover the restaurant closed. Why would open table confirm reservation when closed. Not a great way to start the day.
Slow service & my main course was cold by the time it was served...
