Mago Grill & Cantina - Bolingbrook
Always an extraordinary experience.
Everything is always fresh and the drinks are amazing!
The food was very good and the service was excellent
Excellent and friendly staff. The food was prepared with care.
The food was great. I just love any place that serves plantains.
Great food and service but the noise level is ridiculously high and you can’t hear the others in your party.
I was disappointed with the food (chicken SMOTHERED in mole sauce) and the margarita ( was there any alcohol in it?). Noise level was crazy with the musicians walking around!
Highly recommend. Food was delicious and they have alot of gf options. Love the variety of salsas they have. Will definitely go there again
We had a great time! My daughter chose Mago because it’s one of her favorite local places that serve authentic Mexican cuisine with a flare!
I realize it's a Saturday night and you're busy, but we felt rushed - very rushed. We were seated in the room in the back - which I hate since it's so loud - at a tiny table that couldn't fit everything we ordered. We told the server we'd like a few minutes to talk and have a few drinks but she kept coming back to take our order. We ordered, she brought more drinks - then when I said no to dessert she brought the check even though we planned on staying longer and having a few more drinks while we catch up - haven't seen in each other in years. So we paid and left and went to the place next door and split a bottle of wine while we talked.
No issues. Server was overly engaged but not a bad thing. Date went well and everything about experience from Resturant contributed to that.
Absolutely marvelous food. Our new favorite place. It’s a little small on space on the inside. A true diamond in the rough!
Food was flavorful. Good service. Only negatives include the noise level and standing room only while you wait for a table. If you’re wanting to easily be able to converse it’s difficult as the restaurant is extremely noisy. Also if you’re waiting for a table there’s no true foyer to stand or sit so you’re constantly in the way of the door unless you wait outside. Bar is very small too.
Food was very good. Having Mariachi's was a nice touch but it made a small, loud space even louder. It was also way too warm. A nice place to eat but not for a quiet evening.
Ariana took great care of us! Everything was delicious! Thank you for a great experience.
The food was fabulous! Waitress very courteous and attentive. Mezcal manhattan the best cocktail I’ve ever had!!
Great food. It was one of the best “Mexican” restaurants we have gone to. Did not expect this quality so far north.
Great service, great food. Love this place.
The food was fantastic! Our wait staff was prompt and courteous. We had the fresh made guacamole and it was perfect! I had the salmon - delicious! My husband had the fajitas and it came in a crock - the steak was so tender and flavorful. I had food envy! We had the fried ice cream and we highly recommend it. We will go back. Great place
The food was great. We had their mojitos, which were amazing. The service the wonderful. Everyone was so friendly. There aren’t many Mexican restaurants that their food is good, so their food is definitely worth trying. We loved it and will be returning.
Love the food and drinks. The hostess is extremely rude.
A nice space and excellent service but food was just ordinary.
Very good meal and wonderful service. Always a terrific experience and would go back!
An EXCELLENT restaurant w/ terrific Mexican food, service and great, fun drinks! Great decor, always a fun, busy vibe.
The food was bland. My friend had her drink spilled on her arm and her food was wrong.
I have always had an excellent dining experience at Mago and my friends from Florida were very impressed with the quality of food and service.
Soon after we were seated, the fire alarm went off and it was extremely loud and definitely not good for the 4 month old baby we had with us. When I tried to inquire about the duration of the alarm with the waitress, her response was, “It’s not my fault.” When we decided to leave, another restaurant worker told us the fire department was on the way and the noise would stop soon. We decided to stay and the food was just OK. My husband and I shared the Fajita Molcejete with shrimp and chicken. It contained 4 shrimp and 3 strips of chicken. Not much for the price. My son got the taco salad which also was not that filling so he made an additional order of 2 tacos just to be satisfied. Not sure I will come back here any time soon if at all.
My friend and I come to this restaurant to her three times a year to meet up. This is the only time that we see each other. After an hour and a half total with the food being brought to the table the waitress took my watercraft and my glass of pop and didn’t come back with it obviously sending a message they wanted us to leave. I do not respect or frequent restaurants to do this so we will not be back.
Great food, drink & service!! Top notch drinks, great place & a fun vibe!!
Never had a bad meal or service from here!
We were seated immediately upon arriving.
Service by Jennifer was top notch. Our drinks were always full. Food was very tasty and cooked as we ordered. I highly recommend the table side guacamole.
We left full and satisfied.
We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, friends visiting from out of town at Mago’s.. Great food and service.
Our server called my wife “sir” 4 times during the dinner. We were rushed to place our dinner order, while having to ask for water to be brought to the table 4 times. Our server was rude and we felt extremely unwelcome and like we were a nuisance to him. The food was subpar and not at all like the previous times we have eaten there. Don’t know that we will be back if that’s how the restaurant has changed. Not worth the money for such an experience.
I enjoyed the mariachi band, but they were loud and it made it hard to talk. I wish they would have taken a little break.
Great food and service. A little loud but it was packed, so it was expected.
Delicious food, efficient, attentive service. Magos quality is consistently excellent, whether it's tortilla chips or the full meal. It's clean, well-lit, and attractively decorated. One OK f my favorite restaurants.
Met with friends there did lunch and we had a great experience. Drinks were delicious (I had the Paloma Margarita rocks) and each of our drinks were individually presented—no cookie cutter glassware here! Guacamole was made fresh at the table and was lovely. I had the Dorado and Hongos tacos and they were a delight. Service was superb—easy going, helpful, present but never pesty and the table was cleaned unobtrusively in between. We actually stayed a little long at our table but never felt pressured to leave or give up our table, which was really nice for us to catch up. Will definitely be back and will recommend highly to others!
This was my first visit, but definitely won’t be my last! The food here was outstanding! We ordered the table service guacamole (which is the best I’ve had) and a couple of specialty tacos. The only negative thing I can say is that the food came out very quickly (but we were there shortly after opening, and there was only one other couple in the restaurant). The ambiance is fantastic, but the food is what makes this place so special. I’ll definitely return! Highly recommend!!
Always good food. Great service, and awesome looking restaurant.
