What Insiders Are Saying
Madera Kitchen in Hollywood is serving solid small plates, elegant cocktails, and a highly instagrammable patio situation.
Food was terrific this time. Service was solid. Great outdoor patio dining.
Great ambiance. Poor service. The food was delicious, but they need to update their menu on Open table. I made my reservation there because of the Raw oysters i saw in the Open Table menu, but when I got there, the waitress told me she was not aware of any oysters being serviced there. I was disappointed, but I tried their Prosciutto with watermelon and basil - delicious. The kale salad was also very good and perfect on the dressing. The Moscow Mule was half off and perfect.
Food extremely salty and greased.
Quality of meat OK, but one came cold.
Cute ambiance, terrible food.
Great happy hour and service! Love the patio seating area near the fire place.
Loved the ambience and our waiter made some great suggestions for dinner.
Amazing restaurant, fabulous ambiance, great service and fantastic food. If we come back to LA we’ll definitely be back here.
Our favorite neighborhood date night spot! The food is amazing, the staff is great and friendly, and the atmosphere is everything you could want!
The food was not great, especially for the price. I definitely would not go back.
Always a pleasure to have Sunday Brunch at Madera, we Love the environment and the people
Atmosphere was great. Service was really slow, there was only one waiter for the whole side of the restaurant. Food took a long time, and when it finally arrived nothing special. Great for atmosphere, bad for food & service.
Terrible service and the resturant was empty. No excuse for a long wait for food, drinks and no follow up. Food was average...very cute space.
The best part of the restaurant was the host! He was very friendly and helpful. Other than that we didn't have anything good to say. We made reservations to have Easter Sunday brunch. You'd think making a reservation would mean we'd have a decent table. But the only tables open were inside in the dark. Eventually we moved outside. Waited a looooong time for food to arrive. Drinks were wrong. Food was ok. I think it's a bit of a tourist trap of a restaurant due to it's location. Much better places out there for the price point.
Restaurant was empty. Drinks were weak. The food was overpriced and just not good at all.
We waited over 20 mins before we even got a drink. The only uncooked item we ordered came out after all of the cooked food. Positive note, the food was tasty. We asked for salt and had to ask two people before we got it. Server was nice but service was some of the worst I’ve had in a really long time and it was at a seemingly high end, nice restaurant. Definitely disappointing. We actually asked how long they’d been open bc it was as if it was week 1 but he said 5 years...yikes.
Loved this restaurant!! Just amazing experience!! Friendly staff and great atmosphere
There was a private party of teenagers at the restaurant... is was impossible to talk there
Food was underwhelming. Restaurant was empty. Located on the street, so it was very loud with cars and sirens. Bathroom stalls not the cleanest.
The food was just fair and the restaurant was empty when we attended it. We ordered the brussels sprout dish which he said was made fresh but you could tell it had been sitting in the refrigerator and the steak that we ordered got delivered to another table but they did accommodate us very nicely for the mess up in the serving of the food. So in that respect they were really amazing and treated us very well. We were disappointed in our evening there.
Great place, Great food, Great staff! ................. .........................................
Excellent service and food. Great atmosphere
The service was great and the food was excellent. Our server was really friendly and funny! I recommend the squid ink pasta.
Would not go out of my way to revisit, food was so so, the
restaurant was empty
Service was wonderful, food was amazing. Will definitely be back again!
Our service was pretty bad - the waiter almost never checked on us, even with a half-empty restaurant. The pasta was alright, but nothing special. It felt like they didn't really want to be there.
Madera is always one of my favorite Brunch spots in Hollywood! The bottomless mimosas are fantastic and the food is great! (or is that because the mimosas are so plentiful??)
My wife and I had been looking to go to Madera, so for date night I surprised her. We were quite surprised that upon our arrival the place was relatively empty (although it was around 7 p.m., we thought that for a Friday night the crowd was a little lean). The menu options were limited but the food was pretty good. My wife had the vegan pasta and I had the oxtail shortbread. We would've hoped that the menu offer a few more substantial entrees.
The location is was pretty ghetto. The patrons were screaming. I guess I just had the wrong expectations.
It was the best food and service!
Thank you Joshua for a wonderful dining experience. We appreciated your suggestions and for helping me choose items that were out of my comfort zone.
Great spot but found some hair in the food! Not only that but the meal wasn’t fully taken care of. Needless to say I won’t be returning
Great brunch spot!
Madera's Brunch was amazing. Our waiter and the General Manager was super awesome. They both checked in on us and had the mirmosas on hand. I woukd recommend Madera's Brunch any Sunday!
Great food and atmosphere.
Madera Kitchen is our FAVORITE place to eat in the Hollywood area. We love it so much we got married there and our friends still talk about the food!
We'll be back soon for brunch or happy hour :)
2-hour bottomless Mimosas for $20 was a big draw for Sunday brunch. Lots of large tables of young adults. But, good for us old folks, too. Great waiter.
We very much enjoyed this pre-Pantages gem! And we were thrilled to learn of their happy hour which features very shareable small plates so we could try various dishes since it was our first visit. Server Cody was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. We will definitely be back! 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice outdoor patio. Very small portions on some the food. Tasted good, but nothing special. Nice place to have a date, but be prepared for a possibly higher than expected bill. Parking can be difficult with only street parking.
We waited 30 min to be seated and then another 30 min to even get any bread. I wasn’t looking for a 2.5 dining experience and the kitchen was also out of a lot of things by 7:30pm. No thanks.
