This was our first time eating at Luca's and it was not a good experience. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our main courses and we were told that everything was made to order when we questioned what was happening. All food should be made to order so that was not an acceptable reason. Once we did get the food, all 5 people at my table thought their dishes were not good. In addition prices are very high and not commensurate with what is being served. I eat out a fair amount and as far as Italian food goes this was really bad.
We had a lovely dinner here. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had some dietary restrictions and allin our party allergies and they were
I took my wife to this restaurant for her birthday and we both felt like we were in Naples. The interior of this place reminded the both of us of a table in a piazza.
The food was very authentic of the place/region the owners family was from Ischia (Bay of Naples). Each dish was better than the other. We recommend the figs for a appetizer.
LOL, even the restrooms reminded us of how they are in Italy.
We recommend that anyone that is interested in authentic Italy food to try this place, you will not be disappointed.
Simply outstanding! Beautifully prepared, high quality and great setting.
Always great
Fantastic as always!!
All was perfect at Luca’s this evening. Staff, service, food & wine the best!! ❤️
As every meal at Luca’s has been for many years, dinner for my wife and me on Friday, November 8, 2019, was superb in every way. We look eagerly forward to our next visit.
Outstanding food; Excellent service; and, the noise level was very low, which is uncommon. The four dishes were all 10 out of 10. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant, and i plan to be back many times! -Charles G. Horn.
This was easily the best meal that I have had in years . Do not hesitate. Go eat here
Food and service was great as always’
Absolutely fabulous lunch. I’ll be back at Luca’s soon!
It's always a pleasure dining at Luca's. We've been coming to the restaurant for over 14 years and are always impressed with the food and staff. Keep up the amazing work.
The food here is amazing
more expensive than i expected for the food. the food was good but portions were slight for price.
Awesome food! It's in a strip mall so it's a bit surprising. Decor is eclectic. Noise level when the tables are full is high. But servers are personable and the food is amazing! Reservations needed for weekend nights.
Very authentic Italian restaurant which provided excellent service and outstanding food.
Excellent as always
Food is always fresh and delicious
I went to Luca during a business trip. Awesome experience. Definitely will repeat when I get back to NJ. Points of excellence: the courtesy bread made in house, the waiters attention, and the food quality. This place is a true jewel in NJ.

We came to celebrate a 64th birthday Everything was perfect! We loved it!!
Had 5:30 reservations on a Friday. Walked in no one in restaurant. Which would think you would have awesome service well not so much. We ordered small calamari it was fine sauce was spicy to go with didn’t taste that fresh. I had the Luca again it was fine nothing great. My mother had the cannelloni she did not like it said one of the fish inside it was not fresh. 80 some odd dollars later left unsatisfied. The price is expensive for what you receive. Two entree and small appetizer 86 dollars. If food was phenomenal I wouldn’t mind paying but it was not. I suppose for area the place is good. The server also did not check up on us once. I know they were very busy talking in the back. I will not be returning.
I had never heard of Luca’s Ristorante. I found it on Open Table when looking for a restaurant located between us and family members we were meeting. We lucked out with our choice - the restaurant was amazing! We loved the food, the ambiance and the service from our server Andrew. The Fico appetizer alone is worth going back for! For our entrees, our party of 5 ordered Genovese (gnocchi with braised short rib), Pappardelle (with burrata cheese and Bologna’s sauce), Luca (shrimp, crabmeat, scallops, capers in creamy white sauce over linguine), a Filet Mignon Special, and Otto (octopus salad). We were all super happy with our choices, and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Even the bread on the table exceeded our expectations. I think Luca’s is going to be our new family meeting place because everyone wants to go back there to eat again!
The food at Luca’s is excellent. It never disappoints and is truly a hidden gem.
The veal parmesan, seafood rolatini and sea bass were all delicious. I am always satisified with the food there. The pear salad and goat cheese was a little short on the cheese but otherwise fine. Ambience is great as was the service. It was a little noisy but I find that happens everywhere depending on the crowd so can't blame them for that. Overall excellent.
Hmm. Lots of people rave about this place. We were disappointed. For what we paid, I'd expect more interesting flavors. The bruschetta is good but seriously overpriced; my son's pasta (pistachio pesto) was bland; I had the halibut which was good but not necessarily memorable; my wife had the ravioli filled with butternut squash--that was pretty special. Desserts were good. However, the restaurant was freezing cold; we kept our jackets on the entire time and were still cold, which is not exactly how you want to feel when you're eating out. The soundtrack is kind of horrible. And our entrees took forever--we arrived at 5:45 and were finally eating our entrees at 7. The waiter did treat us to a dessert as compensation, but that seemed barely adequate. Might have been worth it if the food had been out of this world, but it wasn't. And at the end of the day you're in a strip mall along route 27. More interesting food and better options in downtown NB.
Food and service was perfect.
Absolutely delicious...and great service! We started with a special of a peach appetizer with whipped ricotta...wow !! And the figs with prosciutto....yummy! Entrees were the chicken Bianca, pasta Valentino with chicken and pistachio pesto and the lobster cannelloni. All portions were more than generous and provided delectable lunches. And the bring your own just makes the restaurant more affordable. A great experience!
Very disappointed in the quality of the entrees, the lack luster and the overall experience will not ever go back.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Our waiter was so polite and accommodating! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Every time is ALWAYS the same. OUTSTANDING
Awesome food as always. Was a bit louder than we would have liked as there was a wedding rehearsal dinner next to us - 20 people. Not too bad though once they started eating. We highly recommend this restaurant! Our server, Josef, was fantastic too.
The food was delicious, but a little pricey for the location. We went with a group of 6. The service was wonderful. We were not rushed. Great time!
Eleven years I've lived in North Brunswick and I can't believe I've never been here. As soon as you walk in you forget you're in a strip mall. The decor is great and the food and service is even better. Our server Matthew was very knowledgeable and passionate about the restaurant and everything we had to eat and drink was fresh and flavorful. We will be returning!!!!!
The food was amazing!! Loved this place, definitely going back!
I just love Luca’s !! I wanted to have the crab soup but knew I could no do it and the Seafood Luca- so I settled for a fabulous meal!!!!!
Always amazing. The specials are unique and delicious! The waiters are professional and thoughtful. Consistently perfect!
Overall, a good experience. But, we ordered an appetizer special: a peach caprese salad, during the height of peach season and the peach was awful; hard, bitter, dry, it ruined the whole dish. So how do highlight peaches, and then put an unripe, inedible peach in the dish? Entree was lasagna, it would have been great except that it was too sweet. Perhaps a drier wine should have been used. Also, tables were too close together; could barely move. Now, the good. The bread for the table was fantastic! The hub's shortribs were pretty damn good. Yum..
We have t been here in a while....and sincerely wonder why! Absolutely delicious. Let’s start with the bread basket, full of individual portions of all different rolls served with oil and roasted garlic. Each of the four of us could have devoured the entire basket. Starters were figs wrapped in prosciutto...delectable and a poached pear salad. Entrees were eggplant parmigiana, veal parmigiana, gnocchi with a short rib sauce, and chicken Bianca in a white sauce with asparagus and pistachios. We love that this is BYOB and even brought a dessert wine which we enjoyed with servings of biscottis. Really a wonderful evening.
We had an early reservation at 6:15 on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was certainly hopping but there were empty tables. We were disappointed that two of the special disappeared between the recitation and the ordering time.
I really nice find somewhat off the beaten path. Not what you’d expect from a restaurant located in a strip mall. Super high quality and authentic food, located in a great atmosphere with even better service. An absolute recommended restaurant!
