Everything was mostly great. The food was incredible. Our server was not quite as good as last time, a little less friendly and patient. We understood about the $25 corkage fee and brought our own wine as we were unable to find the wine list online. Our server told us the first 2 bottles would be $25 and the third $50. We thought he was kidding! This absolutely should be noted online as well as wine list with prices. We made our reservation at the only time we could get a table for 6 and planned on a leisurely meal and we were going to a show at 9:15 at The Echo. $50 to open a third bottle, not customer friendly. The food and service were absolutely amazing! I can’t have dairy or gluten and everything was made away from gluten so I didn’t feel gross after (: More

Loved it! This was our first visit to Tsubaki and really enjoyed it. We had 5 different glasses of sake and all were good. Three were spectacular. And the food was just as impressive. Between two of us, we split 5 items from the menu—for us, that ended up being just the right amount. Started off with the wagyu tataki. (Which was fine, maybe a little overwhelmed by the really delicious fermented chili and broth. Probably wouldn't order this again, but it was nice to try a different take on wagyu). Next up came the Chawanmushi, steamed off custard. That was amazing! Definitely a must next time we go. Then in tandem came the tako-ten (fried octopus) and a special of grilled diver scallops. Yes and yes! To finish, the 48-hour short ribs were perfect. Really, what a lovely place. Service was just the right balance of friendly-to-professional and dishes came out and the perfect pace. Highly recommended and look forward to returning. More

Solid 4 - somethings are higher and some lower but nothing was a 5, maybe 3 in service because just average but not bad. Biggest issue is drinks had no prices on the menu which seemed pretty sketchy. More
