Lonesome Dove Western Bistro - Fort Worth
We are ‘foodies’ and Lonesome Dove may be my new ‘Go to’ restaurant. The ambiance was perfect, the food was just unbelievable! Just a great experience!
Food was fabulous. The wine list is awesome and our service was great. Will definitely go back.
Celebrated on 35 Anniversary, very quaint and charming.
Went out for a date night and we wanted to try something new. We were thoroughly impressed by the menu based on what we saw online but little did we know how impressed we would be! Several staff came by to make sure we were comfortable and had drinks (it was a very busy night with large parties). The ambiance was great but a little loud (understandably so). Now when it came to ordering food this is where customer service was FANTASTIC. I have multiple food allergies and usually it’s just easier for me to ask for a restaurant’s gluten free menu and then figure out what I can and cannot have based on the ingredients. Travis, our waiter, came along and I told him my food allergies (gluten, dairy, and nuts) he took my gluten free menu and totally adjusted that nights menu so I knew what I could and couldn’t have without any worry!!! That has never happened before.
All of the food we ordered was amazing! While I wasn’t able to try what my boyfriend ordered (kangaroo nachos and elk tenderloin and truffle macaroni and cheese ) it looked wonderful! My first course was the antelope with chili peppers and oysters. My entree was the buffalo ribeye, spinach, and truffled mushrooms. The food was amazing and cooked impeccably. Definitely worth the money and a wonderful experience!! Will definitely come back!
All in all a good experience. They do a nice job.
Food was extremely cold
Fantastic food in a wonderful setting. It is worth taking the advice of the waiting staff and ordering a mixture of small, medium and large plates as every single mouthful is delicious so you will want to try as many different things as possible! I would certainly return if ever in Fort Wort again.
We didn’t realize they were doing a price fixe menu for New Year’s Eve and the price was rather high. They seemed in a rush and while the food was great as always it just wasn’t the same experience. They also didn’t acknowledge the birthday we put in the reservation. It’s still one if our faves but wouldn’t do a holiday there again
As usual it was incredible!! We usually come down to eat here on our anniversary (we live in Denton) and it never disappoints!! Really cool that we got to meet Tim Love this time!! He checked with us at the front before we were seated, then came by our table for a conversation!! Such a cool guy!! The food was amazing, service impeccable - thank you Wilson for taking such great care of us!!
Always amazing. Can’t miss with any of the offerings. Good service. Easy valet. Excellent wine selections.
I love Lonesome Dove. It seemed you were lacking on wait Service. Our Cocktails took forever each time we ordered and we had to rush our dinner as it was also late getting to the table. Nothing that can’t be cured w more servers.
My boyfriend celebrated his birthday.
First time to dine at Lonesome Dove and it was better than we expected. Tim Love usually does good food and we dine at Woodshed frequently, mostly due to location, food is about par, much better bbq in the area, but nevertheless we like the place. Lonesome Dove on the other hand was delicious! Appetizers were great, small but scrumptious. Tenderloin and chop were both easily enough to bring us back again soon. Did not try dessert. Nice western theme and nice outdoor area for parties.
While the food was quite good, the service was lacking. It took 40 minutes to bring the bottle of wine that was ordered. At the conclusion to dinner, it took 20 minutes to process the credit card.
Hi There, Thank you for the honest review. Great to hear that you enjoyed the food! As for the service; While it does take a few minutes to get our bottles from our Wine Cellar; taking more than 10 minutes is unacceptable. Timing is crucial during a dining experience and during your visit we dropped the ball, for that, we sincerely apologize. Please reach out at your convenience via private message or on my cell to further discuss your experience. James Bolet General Manager 214 502 5820
This historic venue with the unique Texas fare causes me to sit back and thank the good Lord for being so lucky to live in the great state of Texas.
Brother getting married, celebration dinner.
Lonesome Dove is the one restaurant in Fort Worth that I visit whenever in town. Ambiance good, prime rib good and
Sides good. I like it.
Been to Lonesome Dove many times. Food is amazing but table selection on the last visit was horrible we might have well been sitting in the entry. Wait staff wasn’t what I’d come to expect from Lonesome Dove on this visit either. Overall food is great but they could use some help with packing the dining room with too many tables.
Drinks Good , Appetizers were very good, Good atmosphere and service
Entrees below average for the price. For the prices charges the food should be excellent.
Recommendations from wait staff were not the best
What a delightful experience! Food, service, and ambience on point (though AC was on the frosty side). The elk loin was delicate and delectable —good balance of meat and vegetables too. The smoked venison ribs: absolute yum! The rabbit the lobster hush puppies were more in the ho hum side of things when compared to the rest of the dishes we ordered. We also had the beet side dish and loved it. We will return next time we’re in town. Highly recommended place!
My favorite restaurant. The garlic stuffed tenderloin is the best steak I have ever eaten, and the white truffle mac and cheese is a must- have side.
First time visiting this restaurant. The food and service were fantastic! It was a little on the high end for cost but for dining here for a special occasion, it was worth it. The waitstaff was very attentive and accommodating. Definitely would go back and would recommend Lonesome Dove to all. They have very unique menu items that was very intriguing, especially the appetizers. There were 3 we really wanted to try but couldn't make a decision. Then the waiter told us you can mix and match which was a great option! They were so delicious!
This was the perfect spot for our group from Seattle. Western atmosphere, amazing food! The rattlesnake appetizer surprised us as the table favorite.
Will be back when we’re in Texas next year.
Food was great, service was also very good. Second time there and they are very consistent with both.
The food was great and the service just as good!!
Was just ok. Kind of pricey and, had to send my steak back 3 times as it was not done to my liking. At the end of the night we were given a $50.00 gift card, which was very nice but, would not ever go back. Also, was my husbands birthday and was told that if we didn’t order a dessert that at a minimum, our after dinner treats, which come out with the bill, would come on a plate that had happy birthday written on it. That did not happen.
Hi Joanne, I spoke with your table throughout your meal on Saturday night and want to again sincerely apologize for the miscues on your meal. We will occasionally have a miss but, it should never take 3 tries to get it right. I would love to invite you and your husband back to show you what a true Lonesome Dove experience is all about. Please reach out to me via private message or on my cell. Hope to hear from you soon! James Bolet General Manager 214 502 5820
Restaurant is very loud and waiter was rushing us through dinner. Actually, our waiter was somewhat rude when I told him I had told scheduling that I wanted something done special for my husband's birthday. He acted as if it was a lot of trouble. The food was absolutely fabulous though!
We are always impressed with this restaurant. Great food and staff.
This is a great restaurant with wonderful food and a friendly staff.
Gabby was our waitress and she was phenomenal! Timing of food was wonderful.
Went for a family members 60th birthday and let them know this ahead of time. My brother in law was in from out of the country and we had lots of catching up to do. We were seated between two very loud business groups. Had to lean in to barely hear each other. I wish we would have chosen a different location as the noise level was very distracting. Food was excellent, service was okay but our server had both large parties too.
We had a Great meal at Lonesome Dove and the atmosphere was excellent for our business dinner.
We had a wonderful meal at the Lonesome Dove, excellent food and the service was great. Everybody got something different for each course and everyone was thrilled and talked about it for the rest of the trip. I would definitely recommend the Lonesome Dove for an evening out.
The food is outstanding, but it was pretty expensive for the experience. Also, the service to start the night was really slow. First drink order from bar > 15 minutes after we sat down.
Wonderful experience ! Greeted at the table with champagne for our anniversary . The service and food were both amazing
Food was wonderful but service was the worst experience at any of Tim Love's venues and we've been to most of them several times. Our waiter spilled our Veuve Cliquot by opening the bottle too aggressively and then we had to request an ice bucket to keep it chilled. You can imagine the evening is not going to go well when the waiter says "My apologies" 5 times in the first 10 minutes. It was my wife's birthday and I feel like I owe her another dinner. Members of the wait staff sometimes wished her a happy birthday and others wished us happy anniversary. Apparently there was some confusion. Our waiter was loud and arrogant and by his suggestions it was clear we knew the menu better than he did. The water bearer splashed water in my wife's face. You can't make this stuff up folks! The waiter put my wife's order in incorrectly and her elk loin was rare so that had to be sent back. Finally when we were finished the waiter pulled the disappearing act and we had to ask someone else for the check.
On the up side, the food was wonderful. The elk sliders rocked, my buffalo ribeye was perfect with the side of truffled mushrooms. Becky's elk loin was also great once cooked. Dessert was also awesome.
Hi Flava, Great to hear that your entrees and dessert were delicious, always great to hear! As for the service: While we are going to have accidental spills and general miscues during service, those mistakes should not be reoccurring throughout your entire experience and for that, we are truly sorry. Please reach out to me at your convenience, via private message or on my cell to further discuss your experience. Hope to hear from you soon! James Bolet General Manager 214 502 5820
This was our first visit to Lonesome Dove and will not be our last. We waited at the bar on another couple to join us then were escorted to our table in one of the back room that was a little quieter than the main room. Our server was most anxious to please but hurried thru the menu, I really don't hear as fast as he was talking so we asked him to repeat the choices more than once. We enjoyed the quail, lobster hush puppies, and kangaroo taco's. Then we had the Garlick Tenderloin, Elk Loin, and Snapper for main course.
All were delicious.
The food was good but nothing special given the price tag. Overhyped.
Had not been to Lonesome Dove in awhile! Everything was wonderful. Cozy for a cold night and the cocktails were superb!
